Having Tiger as a teacher is key. He won't learn any bad habits. I had a boss who was a -1 handicap. He said he took up golf after college. 3 months into it, he was a 12 handicap. He said he had a really good teacher, so he never adopted any bad habits. The only thing tougher than learning how to strike the ball correctly is unlearning the wrong way to do it.

Just watching Charlie's golf swing it's frankly astonishing how good it is at such a young age. He looks like a miniature pro golfer. Just for him to have a swing that technically sound and powerful and the fact that he's Tiger's kid is pretty amazing. It really is an excellent swing that if you put up side by side with some of the best swings in the game any instructor would tell you that it's legit. How far in golf he will go is yet to be determined but he has the swing already that could get him on tour.

I must admit. Tiger not only got me into Golf, but made me start teaching it (for 17 years). Tiger made Golf fun. I made a ton of money, trained a ton of Golfers and had a great time doing it. John Daly's son has game, too. They beat Tiger and Charlie once. I cannot wait to see them on the tour very soon. Charlie players and reacts like his dad, which is funny to see. Rightfully so, Charlie will have every advantage possible. He's used to being wealthy, he's used to travelling, he's used to the limelight and seen the level of attention that surrounds his Dad and family, he's had all the highest level golf instruction one could get at such a young age and he has the love and encouragement of his Dad - pretty damn important that is right there. I think the largest hurdle for Charlie will be how his personality and brand will play out... If he acts out, is a little snotty, snooty or disrespectful he will quickly receive the ire of millions, calling him a rich elitist brat.... I hope this does NOT happen. I hope he navigates a path to a grateful golfer who makes the tour on his own merits and provides a great life for him and his eventual family.

Charlie is being taught just like Tiger was taught. Mental toughness is the difference between tiger and the others. And Charlie is looking like he’s having a blast. And if he follows in dad’s footsteps, he will be fine. As far as being a spoiled brat, who knows, and anyone who professes to know is a fool. Go Charlie. Have a blast and keep your mind on your game. 👍

Let's hope that Charlie doesn't take things for granted, that his last name doesn't give him certain privileges or allow him to get away with bad behavior.
Right now you can see he is imulating everything about his father, swing twirl, stance , manurisims.
Hopefully, dad will see this and straighten him out

I liked the pure honesty of Charlie Woods. In one interview after the latest Pro-Am Family Tournament. Charlie whipped out the best comment I've heard in years.
"boy Dad, did are putting suck". Tiger burst out with a smile and laugh worthy of any great Dad. Yes, out of mouths of babes comes pieces of gold. Charlie had that zinger and it cut through the ice of the interview and the moment even better.
    - be honest and open- yes, you can have great strokes on the fairways, but dang Dad. I sucked at the putting.

So many people hate winners!! Hate Tiger, if you want, for stuff that happened off the course. But nobody has ever even come close to Tiger. I love Jack and the old guys, but they never had the equipment and calibur of competition that Tiger has had. As for Charlie, he’s Charlie. A father cannot teach that, it has to come in the form of natural talent. And a willingness to put in the work to make it happen. Go Charlie!!!

Charlie is a very good golfer but at 14 the competition begins getting severe. He was cute at 10 but there are literally a few 1000 Charlie’s at 15 who are much better than him mainly due to their size and strength. I’m a statistics man - I say Charlie is never going to break into the upper echelons of competitive golf. I hope I’m wrong.

I doubt that he can hold a candle to his dad even though he is a very talented young golfer. Regression toward the mean is a dominant theme of the universe. Tiger is one of the greatest, if not THE greatest, golfers of all time. So having a son who can surpass his golf exploits isn't very likely. Still, I'd love to see Charlie become a PGA golf professional, so I wish him the best. The kid has a winning attitude.
