If you can fit 3 forward facing across surely that means i can get a small adult inbetween car seats right? Did you try yourself? How was it. I am currently choosing between Sorento and Carnival but Carnival is so overkill for 90% of my year. I am eagerly awaiting your Santa fe 2024 review

I was in a similar position. I rented a carnival for 2 weeks on a holiday and realised it's a great holiday car but I wouldn't want it as a daily as it's just too big (I also realised the palisade is too big too). I'm now comparing the Skoda Kodiaq, Kia Sorento and I'm also waiting to see the new Santa fe. The current Kodiaq has no third row top tethers but the curtain airbags extend fully to the third row - they don't extend to the third row with the Sorento. Kia Sorento has a lower middle seat floor hump than the Kodiaq which is important if you intend to seat an adult there. Hope this helps.

@isaacb3984 yh I went to the dealership and had a sit in both and the Carnival is amazing for sure but on my dailies it's just me my wife and 2 little toddlers. The skoda I'm not sure with the reliability so I wouldn't consider it. I'll go back there and bring our car seats and test properly the Sorento. I would like the mazda cx8 too if there is any left by the time we are purchasing

@@ndragon88 If it helps, Skoda is just another VW off-brand (like audi or Seat). They are made in a different factory but the Kodiaq is just a re-styled VW Tiguan. Also, Skoda has a 7 year warranty. Good luck in your search, they're all good options. I went with the Kodiaq RS but my focus is on performance and ride comfort. I think the Sorento or the new Santa fe are better family cars for their interior comforts/practicality if performance and suspension comfort are not key priorities.

@isaacb3984 I can't remember where I saw or read about Skoda being a bit risky. But either way I wanted to be able to sit a small adult in the middle comfortably if possible. The sorento cannot fit as well unfortunately, and an adult cannot access 3rd row with isofix car seat in. So we have decided on the new Honda crv 7 seater, which tilts forward and up and leaves loads of room even with isofix car seat. My wife will just have to sit slightly forward in between car seats when we have our overseas visitors.

@@ndragon88 A while back Skoda was not so reliable but that changed after volkswagen acquired them. Nice to know about the CRV, congratulations on finding something that fits your needs!
