Hi there! As a former McKinsey consultant, I want to say that I think you have made a terrific effort to summarize this complex topic in just 15 minutes, well done!!! I think your video is well-researched. Just as a few minor amendments, as per the numbers I have got the acceptance rate at McKinsey is not below 1%, but just about 1%, in case anybody finds this more encouraging... 😄 Furthermore, I would want to edit your list of competitors (09:57) somewhat. Although they try hard to become competitors of McKinsey, the BigFour in my view are still predominantly active in other parts of the market. Instead, you could add some fantastic tier 2 strategy consulting firms such as Roland Berger or Strategy& to the list, although of course there are regional differences. (Off-topic: I personally would drop the background music, which I found a little distracting, but that's of course personal taste 🙂). Again, I am really impressed by the width of your video, and that you have repeatedly tried to introduce lesser-known facts about McKinsey as well!! Well done!! 🚀
Glad that you liked it, We appreciate that you took time out and mentioned such minute details as well (Very few do that) Subscribe the channel for similar content.
@@YOUinConsulting well , I appreciate your efforts that you have put to watch the complete video and made the analysis about where the stats were little shaky and what was the best part and all......but you smoothly explained the negatives in between your reply as in the first part you appreciated the guy and then emphasize the flaws after that again showed sense of appreciation.... It's a good way of conveying one's perceptions! Kudos 👏🏻
@@krishanumoharana932 Ahhh thank you, now I understand!! 😃 Yes, you are right! A very accurate observation 👍🏼 At McKinsey, we are taught to offer a "strength-based feedback", that is to always start with the "good thing" when offering a feedback, before maybe pointing towards some areas for improvement. I have internalized this approach as a positive habit. Too often people immediately focus on the one "bad" thing about something and forget to appreciate all the positive items. That can be very frustrating for the person receiving the feedback and lead to blockages. So yes, sandwich technique... you are right 😄
After seeing this video, the so called BIG 4's don't even come anywhere close to McKinsey & Co in any aspect possible. Being an ex-big 4 employee I can confidently say this.
Very Well explained ...thank you Gourav...I just want a small clarification In between you are showing some pictures na so can we get all those in a PDF form so that It would be easy for further reference... Thank you in advance :)

Can you please make a detailed video, on how to get into the big 3, straight out of undergraduate? Also could you elaborate on how efficiently should you utilise your time in college to build up an attractive portfolio for the consulting market ?
Very well explained. Keep up the good work. I do want to ask one thing, the other two companies in big 3 can we assume their revenue model, organisation structure etc. would be more or less similar to McKinsey?
Thanks for your videos they are very insightful. I would like to know How do women having kids work at consulting firms? Is it feasible? Does company provide any flexibility like hybrid work etc?
Consulting firms have been making efforts to provide flexibility and support for working parents, including those who have children. The specific policies and practices may vary between firms, but many consulting firms recognize the importance of creating an inclusive and family-friendly work environment.
Although life of a consultant involves a lot of travel but companies are becoming more and more conscious about work life balance. Also a person should give importance to what's most important and set boundaries.
Thank you so much for making this video. Can't agree more that I am a great fan of InsideIIM. You guys are the best and are doing amazing job👏 I would love to see a similar video on Deloitte.
