Correction: Erpenbeck won the International Booker Prize this year, not the Pulitzer. So many prizes to keep track of!
AJ!!!!! I can't believe I missed this. Love all the five star books. Poor Deer sounds like a book I would like. Adding it to my TBR. Big Swiss has been on my radar for a while. I look forward to your thoughts on it. 😊💙
Life was throwing a lot of stuff at me lately too. So I can definitely relate.
If you like Kairos, I would recommend reading Visitation, because in my opinion it is Erpenbeck's best book so far.
It is so nice to see you! I just read In Memoriam last month. It was really good! The depictions of trench warfare left me rather depressed but the love story was both believable and beautiful
Thanks, Hannah!
So happy to see a new video from you, A.J. I remember you talking about Poor Deer a while back, it still sounds good to me.
Thanks, Karen!
So nice to see a new video! I read In Memoriam at the end of last year and found it moving. I recently read All Quiet on the Western Front, equally very moving, and feel that the scenes of war and the friendships in that book could have influenced the former.
Thanks, Sandra! I haven't read that one yet, but I've always wanted to.
Nice to see you back. Jenny didn’t win the Pulitzer. She won the International Booker
Yes! Duh… Too many prizes!
I’m so happy to see your face again! ✨ Thank you for the recommendations. I added Poor Deer to my list. 🖤
Thanks, Em!
Great video and so good to see you back!
Thanks so much!
Good to see you back.
Thanks, Jess.
@@AJDunnReads Do you know how often you will upload on here? Or are you going to upload whenever you have time?
Good to see a new video from you! I just finished Blackouts; what a powerful and creative novel. I loved it.
@@JessBookgirlTV We'll see. No real plans.
Good to see you again. Have you read Greta & Valdin? I think you’d like it.
I'll check it out!
