Gonna try the back take one tonight. I can't whip my leg like that since I'm very stumpy :/ but I see how you let go of the lapel as soon as you whip your leg around so I'm gonna try and grab my shin to be able to pull it to the back of their leg. Hopefully it works for me :)
@2.45 watch out for doing this as if opponent explodes up you can tear your LCL/knee. Like a calf slicer without locking the triangle/stomping your foot. Happened to me! Otherwise great series, thx gents
You are one genius,I used in training, once I got the lapelnobobody knew what to do,I kept that position against people 3 times my weight.
Big fan of these guards, it is so fun to play with all the variations of them.
Very cool. Thx Keenan for sharing this with us.
thank you, excellent demonstration, and critique.
With the second move, rather than taking the back, depending on the rules of the tournament couldnt u go for a calf slicer?
The squid guard at the end looks cool playing it with a cross grip and a spider hook.
I like the Xguard. Maybe with that lapel control is easier to get the position safer

andrew reis got it bro, thanks. I have also bad knees due to single x injury which popped my lcl years ago.
for the first sweep. cant you just pull his posted arm and do like a rekick on the lapel??
you would have to give him a kick to the face which is reallt hard to do in ibjjf rules so i would just stand up. osss
