• Note [1] - Here's the deal with the Apple logo and name. From the time it was founded in 1976 to 2007, the company was known as Apple Computers, since it was mainly focused on computers. In 2007, Apple released the iPhone, and at that same event in which it was released, Steve Jobs announced the change in its name to Apple Inc. Now, about the logo. From the time when Apple started out (in 1976) to 1977, it had an ornate drawing of Newton sitting under a tree (you know, that story about an apple falling on his head). Then, from 1977 to 1998, the logo Apple had a multi-colored apple as their logo, and from 1998 to 2003, Apple had a blue apple with a 3D sort of effect. Since 2003, they've had the plain logo that we're used to today.
