It depends. They are both quiet but as you increase the power you can start to hear it at higher levels. If this is going to be an issue then I would buy an M2 when an S2 would be sufficient power as you can run it at a lower level and be almost silent
It works a treat! i think i'm just eventually gonna upgrade that will include a bigger tank, sump and naturally pump. It's definitely a good choice. you wont' go wrong.@@fishpalace
do you know the barb size/name you mention in the video here? purchased the pump and am installing it. They don't explain this well and I am not sure which one to get
I think the one I got was the s2bo1 set which is specifically for the S2. I picked it up from AAC in Harlow Essex, if you are in U.K. I had to use boiling water to soften the pipework as the barb always looks too big for the tubing. Hope this helps
I don’t know and cannot see a minimum on box or on website. What I would say is that if your sump is big enough for the S2 to sit in then there is a good chance it is ok on minimal setting . I would happily put this into say a Red Sea reefer 170 which is big enough for the pump to sit in the return chamber
Cheers Paul 👍
Can I run it without the intake valve for an open loop? It is about 1 inch too wide for my chamber.
I run my m1 without the intake valve, just use the blue collar and all good for past 5 years. I just decided to fit it for the s2
Hi is the s2 quieter running than the m1 thanks Andy

I wish this would fit in my sump
It does have a relatively small footprint
@@fishpalace My Sump is tight.. i had to go with the reef Octo Varios 2
