What a wonderful guest lineup. Frenchy, was my introduction out of ignorance, in making and handling hash over 10 years ago. I believe I was introduced by "TGA Seeds" guy "Subcool". Super cool dude, reminds me of my uncle. This show "Bong Appetit" has really set off an explosion of show ideas, in my head.

I don't know where kamayan feast came from but we call this boodle fight back home in the Philippines and with so much more selection of food than what was served here. There's usually assorted meat dishes along with grilled, fried or steamed fish/meat/veggies, freshly cut mangoes, cucumbers/tomatoes/onions/chilis seasoned with salt, black pepper and vinegar. This originated out in the military as their communal feast and they called it boodle fight because you literally have to "fight"( a friendly one at that) everyone to get the food/dishes you want to eat. Good way to bond and show camaraderie. But yes, you do use your hands to eat so maybe that's why they called it kamayan feast.
Actually KAMAYAN is the original word used eversince during the old days, later on the word Boodle Fight (fight for your food and eat fast) was introduce by Military (During Erap Estradas Regime) in the later generation. In my opinion I would still prefer Kamayan because the other one has a slight negative connotation to it.
It's actually the original term for that.. the boodle fight was later introduced I believe. And yes, we have this restaurant named "Kamayan sa Palaisdaan" here in Quezon province.
Just so you know, Frenchy Cannoli passed away on July 18, 2021!!! Frenchy, we will miss you!!! But your brand of cannabis will always be appreciated!! By your diehard fans!!!
This is awesome I'm a single mom. I love to cook. I'm real good at it. I like to relax an smoke there is no more good smoke any more. I'm from bklyn ny back in the 70s 80s 90s it was bomb. All my children are grown now I would love to visit an just enjoy some real smoke if it's like back in the day when we had to get an album cover to get out the seeds real good stuff. Long time.
There's a few growers now that are focused on "old-school" strains, trying to bring back that sweet-leaf feel. Classix is one brand I can think of offhand.
I love the communal eating from the banana leaf table. A bed of fluffy rice with the meat/veggies arranged on it, awesome. Oh, and I bet it's even BETTER with cannabis, especially used by someome who is knowledgeable about preparation and strains.
The woman who says mix mix makes me laugh and I dont know why🤣 Thankyou munchies for featuring our traditional food culture in this video so much love from the Philippines ❤️
There was a time where's drinking alcohol was illegal because it could harm our liver which is true but still legalize for the public to consume, the same phase on what's weed is going through.
Although I discourage my friends to not smoke or drink, I do not have the authority to tell them how to live their lives and same goes to weed users. Is it cancerous? Yes. Should you encourages people to consume it? No. But legalization in the Philippines puts out people do decide whether to use it or not, I'm not physiatrist nor graduated in bachelor of google but there's something in it.
Its actually in the other way around here in Philippines. Smoke comes first then the food. Because after the smoke that will make you super hungry then we eat together and laugh together.
Not tryna be that guy but gotta agree there is a a common theme with this one. It’s would be cool to go to a non legalize state and talk to the cooks OC honestly a lot of cooks smoke weed and cook without the obvious capitalism of the market
Some recent episodes have had chefs with little or no experience with cannabis, but I agree it would be cool to see a chef who has the experience but not the freedom/resources in their home state, and set them free in the Munchies kitchen.

Oh hell yes, dosage. Our first Easter Canna Dinner resulted in a wonderful meal, followed by everyone snoring on the couches the rest of the afternoon. Whoops. That was hardly the pool party we planned for afterwards. So dosage is important! There is such a thing as TOO MUCH. There were cookies for those who wanted just a little bit more....everybody passed on them. We also bought some infused coffee for afterwards....Guess it should have been a SATIVA coffee...

@@rayperve ahh yes the enlightened hyper speak of the self righteous hipster? Are you even aware of the war on drugs the country faces? What would legalization of marijuana do for them?
Legalization would open the door for pardons of a severely inhumane and overcrowded jail system, it would mean homegrown research into medical treatments from Cannabis, it would mean that having pot would not put you at risk against the extremely punitive war or drugs. That said, to there's so much more cultural and social work that needs to be done before the idea of legalization or even decriminalization can be approached here. Like that frankly backward notion that it's a gateway drug, or that it's tied to vagrancy or criminality.

exactly, we never call it kamayan. But for bisaya, kinamot is close.
it originated in the PH army actually. and some soldiers introduced it to their family and friends and thus, boodle fights was born
it also might be from the restaurant named Kamayan in Southern Luzon area whose theme is Filipino food eaten the traditional way
