      One of the funniest moments in the entire series of the show.😂 Also, great editing of this situation. It balanced out the seriousness of what they were attempting to do, adding a humorous bit from the problem solving conversation they had in the wheelhouse.

      Yea that was stupid. I use to work a job where I pulled liner out of pipe and the way it worked was you put the pipe in the vice camp it down then send the cutting tool through the pipe out the other end I guy on the other end of the pip would hold the cutting blade in place then using remote you start the wrench the metal line would start to spool up and pull the cutting tool through the pipe once it hit the other end it grab the liner and pull it out of the pipe. Sometimes the liner would be beat to s**t it happens when it’s drilled into the ground. The winch line would then get very tight and sometimes that cutting tool would fly out of that pipe. We would always yell at the new guys to get the f**k out of the way many times guys would stand right beside the line. I once told a new guy and said why do you think that winch room has a gage around it step back.

    • @toddmillerjr99
      @toddmillerjr99 ปีที่แล้ว +9

      Actually it's a common thing to put bags on the anchor line just in case something like this does actually happen. And most sailors only drop anchor when close to shore. Never out at sea. The bags are for when you do happen the lose your anchor close to shore, you can attempt to retrieve it.

    the stupidiest thing you could do during high swell is to drop an anchor. to enter that harbour he could turn his boat against waves and enter to the harbour at 45-60 deg angle against the waves.

    • @csjrogerson2377
      @csjrogerson2377 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Obviously not a mariner. Anchoring in a big swell isnt stupid, just uncomfortable. I would go to the lee of the island or remain a sea. As for saying enter at 45-60 deg to the swell - now that IS really stupid. Waves and swell are not moving bodies of water, you dont alter your course. The swell will make the vessel heel and the heeling induces a turn. The vessel will turn away from the heel and toward the swell, cross the swell-line and do the opposite ie in a corkscrewing motion.

  • @williamtufts3600
