Is the final boss' sprites glitched? Seems to me they're reversed, as in the blue color is meant to be present whenever he gets hit and the other fleshy color is supposed to be his default one.
All you need is the japanese rom of the game, and an ips patcher called lunar ips, or a program called "Beat" for patches that are in the bps format. The patch for the game can easilly be found in romhacking. net, just search "splatterhouse chrome"
@@Mr.madmight266 Bingo. I'm using my Super SD System 3 to play this on real hardware right now, but since this is a HuCard/TurboChip only, a much cheaper Turbo Everdrive is all he needs. The repros are gone, I think it was a batch of 10 and that was it. If you're doing real hardware these days, a flashcart and/or ODE is your best bet, as retro stuff is just constantly in low supply, high demand and ridiculous prices.

I'm sure you can also play it on real hardware by using an everdrive flash cart that allows you to play any PC-Engine/TG-16 rom.
