I can share with you, and such IS the Catholic Church up to this day with Pope Francis. In fact the Church per se IS HOLY, although is made up of sinners!

The Church..is the Bride Of Christ, and It will always have His protection. "Happy Ending," but what's so terribly depressing is that were it not for the video ['a picture's worth a thousand words'] this man of the cloth's pleas that he was trying to assist Laura -- not do her harm as the townspeople had, in the worst form of human nature, jumped to conclusion -- wouldn't stand a chance of proving his innocence. There would always be doubts and nasty whispers.
God bless Laura for her charitable deeds and on this particular morning, her foresight in setting her smartphone to live-streaming mode.
May God's mercy grant her a full recovery; and for the priest, the emotional stamina to get past this UGLY incident and face and forgive his parishioners. Now, some of these -- those quickest to tell falsehoods, judge and condemn --- should go find another house of worship. They've 'poisoned the well' here so badly. Just asking for forgiveness lets them off too easily.

I wonder the trauma the priest must have suffered. I've been wrongly accused by no less a personality than my holy wedded wife. It's her lies and the misunderstandings by the congregation that caused me to lose faith in fellowship with brethren who believed her lies and were never available to hear her apologize.
Faith in God and his Christ's forgiveness with absolute pursuit of holy living is the basic requirements to see God! The Lord be praised evermore!

No, I do not forget that priests are just as human as I am. That is why I dismiss their claim that they are hand-picked and called by God to the priesthood, that is why I do not kneel down to confess my sins to them because they are just as sinful as, if not more than, I am. That is why I always use critical thinking and evidence to evaluate anything the pope or any of the catholic priests says rather than accept whatever they say at face value because they are just as fallible and trustworthy as any stranger I happen to come across. Life is good as a rational humanist.

In your first comment you sounded like you knew everything about God and the Catholic Church, and even evaluated closely whatever the priests or the Pope said;
you knew about sins, to kneel, to confess, etc. yet you justified your position to exempt yourself from what the Church teaches when you realized they were humans and sinners too.
Now you justify another position for not believing blaming even the Bible for not teaching about faith, claiming that one doesn't even need faith at all to go to heaven, assuming that heaven exist?

But since you seem to not even know the essential in languages, I felt compelled to comment, so that others can read too, that the word *God* is translated *Allah* in Arabic. Therefore also Arabic-speaking Christians say Allah. And besides, there is only ONE GOD, not many. It's simply the knowledge of Him that differ.
Priests are like airplanes in this respect. No one notices the hundreds flying over our heads getting thousands safely to their destinations all over the world, but if one crashes, it's all over the news.

I hope that the world would start to see priests & nuns through a different lens. I grew up around them & had only good experiences. My poor sunday school priests would tell my parents that i was a sweetheart when I was a downright terror at times in my teenage years. In my town there was a young man who portrayed himself as a Catholic priest but was never ordained , he was a Con man, he begun doing well, but later he was involved sexually with some young man in the church, but it was discovered what he was doing and was spelled out of the church, but he left scars of betrayal to the church parishioners, and many of them left the Church also; his actions led many people to criticize his church and his religion. This only goes to prove us how powerful is the sin of deception that Satan uses to try to destroy the beliefs of many people who love God. That’s one of the reasons why God in the Bible tells us to ask for wisdom and knowledge and understanding, so we can know all the tricks of Satan who only tries to get people to sin and die eternally. I think that there should be checks & balances in the Catholic Church because of all the many cases of child sexual abuse. One case should have changed the way children are taught. A Priest should never be alone with anyone under 18 years old. A Priest & the Parent & the child should be there. Between 2001 - 2010 there were child sexual abuse cases dating back 50 years involving 3,000 Catholic Priests & Nuns. This is outrageous!!! If any parent leave their child alone with a Priest after that, and no changes are made for Priest to be left alone with a child, more children are in danger to be sexually abused. These Priests are told not to marry & they have to be aware that they are human & with their sexual desires, they need to stay far from temptations & that include children.This goes for all religions & schools. Public school teachers are said to sexual abuse children 100 x more than the Catholic Priests. We should have cameras in our class rooms. The Bible tells us that the flesh wars against the spirit & to have no confidence in the flesh & lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil. No flesh & blood will inherit the kingdom. 7. What is wrong with the disciplines which have emanated from Vatican II?
The 1983 Code of Canon Law contains the heresy of Vatican II concerning the Church, mentioned above. It also permits sacrilege to the Blessed Sacrament, by approving of its reception by non-Catholics, which is a mortal sin, and permits communicatio in sacris (common public worship) with non-Catholics, which is a mortal sin. In addition, the Ecumenical Directory of 1993 permits ecumenical practices which have always been taught by the Church to be mortally sinful.
8. What does all this mean?
It means that Vatican II and its subsequent reforms have given us a new religion, a religion which is substantially different from the Roman Catholic Faith founded by Christ.
The reformers have substantially altered the three main components of religion: doctrine, worship, and discipline. The result is that the reformers are promoting a religion of ecumenism in place of the Roman Catholic religion, which has always taught that it alone is the one, true Faith, and that all other religions are false. The Vatican II religion teaches doctrines which have been condemned by the Church in the past. It has instituted rites and disciplines which are Protestant in nature.
As a result, the religion which Catholics find in their local parishes and schools, although in name Catholic, is a new, non-Catholic religion already condemned by the Catholic Church.
9. Could it be that you are merely giving a bad interpretation to Vatican II?
No. The heretical nature of this council is confirmed by:
the doctrinal interpretation given to Vatican II by Paul VI and his successors in their decrees, encyclicals, catechisms, etc.;
the series of abominations perpetrated by John Paul II against the First Commandment of God, in the form of ecumenical ceremonies which constitute false worship, even to pagan deities in some cases;
the alteration of the Sacred Liturgy in such a way that the Catholic Mass has been replaced by a Protestant supper service;
the tampering with the matter and form of the sacraments so that many of them, but most notably the Holy Eucharist and Holy Orders, labor under doubt or invalidity;
the promulgation of disciplines, especially the 1983 Code of Canon Law and the Ecumenical Directory, which approve of sacrilege against the Holy Eucharist and the Sacrament of Matrimony, and which demonstrate heresies concerning the unity of the Church as their theoretical basis;
the scandalous mockery made of the Sacrament of Matrimony by the granting of annulments for spurious reasons, constituting an abandonment of the sacred doctrine of the indissolubility of marriage;
the fact that John Paul II is in communion with manifest heretics, has openly declared himself to be in communion with non-Catholic sects, and has recognized an apostolic mission in schismatic and Lutheran bishops, all of which destroys the unity of faith. He has even kissed the Koran, which explicitly denies the Incarnation and the Trinity. He has also publicly prayed that St. John the Baptist protect Islam.

People are so quick to think the worst
We have to all understand that the priests are just human beings who are dedicated to guide us towards the right path, why don't we appreciate them rather than condemn when we ourselves are unable to sacrifice all they have given themselves to.
From my experience the Evil one always judges the new Priest. I believe it’s because they are so used to the old habits. Pray for Priests Nuns and those that are afraid of change. 🙏🙏🙏
