- Aloha from the beautiful island of Maui, Hawaii. In this video, we tour the Ritz-Carlton Maui in Kapalua.
This video was filmed in April-May of 2023. On August 8th, 2023, Maui experienced the worst natural disaster in the state's history. A wildfire tore through the town of Lahaina, claiming close to 100 lives (at the time of this production), burning businesses and cultural history to the ground.
*Update from 8/18/2023: All nonessential travel to West Maui is “strongly discouraged” through the end of August according to Gov. Josh Green's emergency proclamation, the Hawai'i Tourism Authority said in travel guidance updated on August 14. West Maui includes Lahaina, Napili, Kaʻanapali and Kapalua. Please see donation list below to assist during this time of need.
8/13/2023: The resort is currently helping to house locals in Lahaina. Travel to Maui is NOT recommended at this time, as authorities begin to assess the needs of the survivors. Please contact your travel agents for stays on other islands, or postpone until safety measures are in place.
As Maui locals begin to understand what they may need, here is a list of suggested places to donate if you can:
1. Hawaii Community Foundation Maui Strong fund: Focusing on rapid response and working with local nonprofits to understand community needs.
2. Maui Food Bank: Collecting and distributing food to help the hungry in Maui County.
3. Maui United Way: Providing direct relief to families and nonprofits.
4. The Salvation Army Hawaiian and Pacific Islands Division: Providing food and resources for evacuees.
5. Public Schools of Hawaii Foundation: Partnering with the state Department of Education to support school communities in West Maui through Oct. 1.
6. Council for Native Hawaiian Advancement: Matching up to $1.5 million in donations for Maui fire victims.
7. Maui Humane Society: Supporting shelters for displaced people and animals, and caring for injured animals.
8. World Central Kitchen: Providing meals to people in need by partnering with local organizations.
9. Hawaii Lions Foundation: Matching up to $25,000 in donations for Maui disaster relief efforts.

First off I am praying for all the people affected by the wildfires!!
I work for The Ritz-Carlton, Cleveland I had the opportunity to go there and help with their renovations back in 2007. It was a work trip but on my off days it was a vacation. Such a beautiful Hotel.

Great video. Please tell me this. I have knee issues and going up and down stairs is a problem with me. Does this resort have facilities in place (elevators, ramps, golf carts etc) to help me get everywhere I might want to go? (ie: from room to restaurants, beach, pool etc..) Thanks so much, Steve S.
Thank you so much for your comment, Steve! The resort offers complimentary golf cart rides to get to the beach. There are elevators and plenty of ramps throughout the resort, though you might want to ask to be placed in a room closer to the elevators. Our room was a bit of a walk to the nearest elevator. That being said, the Ritz-Carlton Maui is located on a HUGE piece of property. I checked out the accessibility portion of their website, and there are plenty of options available!
