Cultural Marxism is a challenging term that refers to a broad Leftist social phenomenon that took place in the West through the twentieth century into the present. Based upon but modifying the Communist religion of Karl Marx, Western (Cultural) Marxism sought to find a way to infiltrate and seize the means of production of Western Civilizational culture in the hopes of opening it up to socialism (or Communism). In the 1910s through the 1930s, the Western Marxist movement truly was a Cultural Marxism. From the 1930s to the 1970s, this line of thinking was developed primarily by the Frankfurt School, which developed Critical Theory, or Critical Marxism, sometimes referred to as Neo-Marxism. Since the 1970s, it has gone Woke, adopting Intersectionality as a form of American Maoism. In this episode of the New Discourses Podcast, host James Lindsay offers a thorough beginner's overview of the whole of Cultural Marxism in four parts: Marxism and the relevant historical context; Cultural Marxism; Critical Marxism; and Woke Marxism, connecting the highlights of this movement to the challenges of the present day. After five years with James I’ve forgotten more about Marxism than a progressive will ever learn . The real challenge is being able to convey this knowledge in Laymans terms to the Normie. James has a gift . Let the games begin.

The other challenges are to not be pulled into the dialectic either as a reaction or critique - reaction reflects mostly underinformed action or scorn (RE:'hate') towards the movement and critique reflects an attempt to negate their claims using or building on their own theory and techniques. Both 'trap you in the wizards circle' and advance their dialectic of history as it were. This practically speaking means we need to be informed - aka internalizing Lindsay and others lectures as well as thinking about and proposing solutions - lest we are no better than postmodernists who only tear down and negate.
..Oh and not to let the socialist project live rent free in your head 😂. I think James himself has had to contend with this too, because once you start reading into it you see socialism everywhere. But remember this just as James pointed out in the video is uncomfortably close to how a concientized marxist or fabian would lens everything, in that they see opressors and opressed, aka power struggles taking place everywhere much like we Lindsayians may see woke Marxism everywhere. Gotta stay based!

@@6Sparx9I don’t think criticising their ideas feeds into their dialectic.
You also need simple enough truths onto which the layman can latch. Sadly, nuance is the death of rhetoric. Simply pointing out that the means of production is the worker in knowledge work, e.g. programming, can help cast the entire ideology as outdated and overly simplistic.

8:27 I know your job probably seems thankless often, but I've been following you for a long time and I am now getting quite a few leads with regard to people wanting to learn. These are people from distinctly different disciplines and cultures all attempting to put their finger on a monster that they don't understand.
I've not loved the circumstances that I found myself in as an American but I have absolutely loved coming to understand those circumstances through your work. New discourses will be a anthropological study for the next few centuries... But there was something genuinely special about living through it and learning through it with you.
Now however I think that the time has come to refine and communicate that knowledge as best you can. Even if I only learned one or two things from your expounding the four units, you now have a following who can communicate your refined work, and a culture to help promote it.
Please continue doing what you do.

Putting a finger on a monster one cannot understand is such good phrasing, and certainly it feels like that. I know I started feeling immediately better once I started discovery of postmodernism and cultural marxism, even if superficial. Wokism has made clear to me why one of the basic rules of magical belief is being able to name the foe you're facing, at least in word magic. We've faced invisible monsters before.

    • @younghatcreativenetwork2896
      @younghatcreativenetwork2896 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

@AlbertBalbastreMorte all the monsters were invisible before named by their respective hero.
We have house cats and furnaces because we made words out of predators and chaos. I think the process is beautiful.
I'm working on game design to instantiate these concepts in an interactive circumstance. My Hope is that people will create a plethora of characters from different regions and cultures and theologies. That mashup of different chunks of humanity will no doubt see conflict among one another, but the factions will band together across time and space against the dialectical actors who intend to homogenized mankind and put an end to history.
It's cool because these schools of thought echo all the way back to gnostics and hermetics, so we can actually conjure the people who were moving theory forward in each time period.
I'm one of the only people in my circles who follows Lindsay and has devoted some time to understanding the antagonistic nature of theory. If you would be up for discussing the concepts further, feel free to DM me.

More importantly, I think we need to spread this kind of knowledge as much as is possible. If we don't find a way to become humble teachers, and perhaps compromise a bit with the less insane, we will probably never beat this thing. The bad guys take advantage of people's tribal nature to keep a huge part of the population supporting the current thing. James says that "evangelism did not work for this movement", but that was just for the first time around and concerning the workers themselves, the evangelism is working well now amongst those who are at least one step removed from working people and with the 'overproduction of Elites' this adds up to significant class of people.
These new zealous converts are now sufficiently ensconced into culture and institutions that they are able to gaslight actual working people into a state of dissatisfaction even when they are relatively comfortable. The recent wave of strikes in the UK is an example of this - a number of people opined that these were politically motivated, but not nearly enough affect the discourse..

I think what the “noticers” mean by them being all jewish isn’t religious, but rather cultural. Jews are known for being very tight-nit, having their culture no matter where they go, so even after they drop the religion, they often carry on the parts of that culture that aren’t mutually exclusive to the religion of Judaism. For example jews tend to be very involved and supportive but not too helicoptery (thats a word) of their kids, and we know this is a huge advantage in the modern world and while the religion may have facilitated that way of parenting, it’s not exclusive to it afterwards.
That’s how i see it antways, otherwise the fact that jews are so over represented in so many areas (good and bad) could only be chalked up to nepotism and being inherently evil or something.

When it comes to the notion of the proposed “workers’ paradise” in comparison to the Garden of Eden, it’s perhaps interesting to consider what the Serpent said to Adam and Eve, particularly about them being as gods themselves. I mean, what did God do early on? He created the very Garden of Eden they were inhabiting. Thus, if we are to take the Serpent seriously, anyone who was to be “as God” themselves would, naturally, be able to do the same. That is, construct a paradise by and for themselves. As such, it begins to look, at least from a Biblical perspective, like it is merely in line with the words of the Serpent, that mankind is asserted to be able to replicate God’s action of creating a paradise on Earth. As, that is, in a large part, a feature of what makes a god a God, in that regard. For if we are able to be as God, then we are also able to DO as God. Or so the Serpent might have certain of us believe, anyway. Just food for thought.🐍👂🤨🤷🏻

The "individual" is an incredibly important legal concept.
We do NOT need a different form of governance, just because many people today are excessively atomized.
(And might benefit from voluntarily engaging in different forms of community life).
I've been hearing about religious-type people, when around college age, living in apartments with others from the same religious sect, much more than in the recent past.
(In many cities where everything is unaffordable).
People are beginning to band together into overly close-knit groups.
And influencing each other in a vacuum.
Practically the only other, usual alternative now, is to remain ridiculously atomized.
When going BEYOND the legal definition of an "individual," THEN it becomes a slippery notion.
People are a process, always changing to an extent, shaped by communities, reliant on groups.
Juxtaposing and differentiating these considerations, from the (very important) social heuristic artifact and legal concept of "individuals," which PARTLY tracks with a studiable mode of self-perception, is fairly nuanced and challenging.
Pls go 'full-autism' on this subject. (Lol).
And debate someone like Mary Harrington.
So that I don't have to deal with this confusion, among people around me anymore.
Younger people nowadays won't sufficiently grasp this nuanced point, without increased discourse and debate on the topic.
They're essentially broke. And/or, nearly unfree.
And their lives appear increasingly communistic.

Thanks. That is a useful compendium of the facts that I can share with those who don’t understand the devastating impact of the long march through the institutions. I finally got a copy of “The Critical Turn in Education” (I don’t know why most copies on eBay are listed for hundreds of dollars, but I got a good copy for about $30.). That book is excellent for validation of everything James Lindsay has presented. They’re practically bragging about the success, and offer numerous references for more in depth understanding of the Marxist subversion of the US and Western Civilization. Sometimes I think Marxism is an elaborate, cruel joke perpetrated by Marx so the dupes will destroy everything, only to realize that the Utopia was just that, an imaginary place. Marx hated the world.

And Gramsci was wrong in that Lenin was funded by western powers for his coup, and those same powers that funded the soviet coup, also funded the Czarist counter revolution, and pulled the rug out from under them at critical junctions. They did the same thing with the Austrian painter. Lenin had no institutions under his control until AFTER the revolution, and only AFTER an almost decade long media driven propaganda campaign against the Czar... The monarch abdicated, and the bolsheviks forced themselves into the power vacuum.
They were socially engineered then forced into the new power structure. No Long March through the institutions required. Just a lot of Rockefeller and JP Morgan money (as per Sutton), and a big stick to stomp one's enemies.
Also, Dr. Lindsay, calling Cultural Marxism an "antisemitic conspiracy theory", admits 1, that there is a cause/action/conspiracy, and that that conspiracy is, 2, in fact juuish in character, cause, morality, values, ends, and action (whether you choose to recognize it or not).
But yes, "vote harder" and take part in an owned and occupied system... "Change it from within". Epstein, anyone?
