The pictures Ed Scissortounge paints in my mind are fucking insane, it's like an acid trip through my ears
after almost 5 years still one of the best songs I've ever heard, never gets old. A true masterpiece, tho Ed has alot of em.

Its deliberately abstract, stuff like this works on different terms to a good portion of hip hop. While traditionally a rapper will tell a story or spit disjointed lines held together by a theme, this is pretty far out, and it's more about the feeling the imagery evokes.

i love ed scissortongue, but this is my least favourite track of the album . I really hope the metaphor behind this song isn't about relationships, because if it is, its pretty lame. That being said, buy better.luck.next.life. Big ups

It gives me the creeps, that sample lamplighter goes in with the beats. Scissortongue is just ahead of his time...... walking his own path with lyrics. Personally I'm a fan of any person displaying their intellect and this is just art to me; visually and lyrically. The fact I don't understand it fully means I will watch this continuously untill it hit's home. Big up the suttle masterpiece

nah man just keep listening to it and you pick up general themes. its like baxter, alot of his stuff takes many listens before you get what the fuck hes chatting, but im 99% sure both artists have more to say than just nice sounding wordplay
Don't get me wrong I'm all for content in bars but I reckon its too much on this track as to be palatable, if it was spoken word itd be a masterpiece but I'm just not feeling it to a beat.

the whole album has a message and concept, its about morality and the inevibility of death, a lot of the lyrics portray that "1 million dead a day, equates to nothing in this maze" "yeah i know its strange and that our fluids are the fucking same but we should still investigate if our metrics still engage" the whole song is laden with stuff like this. there is some well cryptic shit aswell
Dunno if it's because I write too but I can fully get the concept of the tune, people just need to open up their ears. It's not a conventional song, it's a thought provoker, one where letting it play in the background doesn't quite cut it.
for me there is a lot more than just wordplay here. Scissor is dope at creating mood and feeling, only real music does that, takes you somewhere. So if you dont hear it maybe listen a little harder.

life, love, humanity. play it back a few times and you may find something. i can listen to tracks like this 100 times and still find something new.
Its not all about making tangible sentences, this is a more poetic form of rap, painting pictures with words sometimes only using a word or line to conger imagary in the listeners head, its brave, original and it is deep, if this is not deep then i dont know what is... big ups the scissor!
