I fired up divinity original sin 2 and it’s butter at ultra. At first glance I don’t detect a huge graphical difference. I wonder if there’s actually a lot more going on in BG3 or if DOS2 had a lot of optimization 🤔
I was doing this last night. Solid 1080p 120fps on GFN. Typically for me i can be around 10watts if gfn is all im doing. Theres room to tweat that tho between 9-15w. Whatever works best for you.
Yes thankfully, and apparently if you send your old unit(I got mine on launch), they will repair and place what’s need and it’s fixed. I’m just wanting mine to fry ironically… so I can get it replaced so I’m running Steam off the SD card and emulators lol.

Third act is horrible lol. Unfortunately takes forever to get that far usually least 50 hours or so which would make testing tbat far into the game impossible at launch lol. Noone knew what we know now about rhat back then. Soooooo. I would do a retest video to show third act but I probably will never have time to play that far lol. Most people know by now whats up tho. But noone knew when the video was made.
The problem is the ROG Ally is not expected to run well with split screen multiplayer. ( On the steam deck that option is not available.) They ran into bugs and poor performance during split screen multiplayer on the series S. And Microsoft requires all games that release on the series X to also function on the series S. So it's delayed on that platform until they figure out how to optimize the game for both of those consoles.
Im not expecting it to lol but hyped for the game. Wallpapers everywhere. Ill be playing on series x, local desktop pc and when available the 4080 on GeForce NOW.
Why? 800p just changes the aspect ratio and creates problems when it comes to resolutions with some games.Most times you'll have games either letterboxed or streched... Native 720p screen would be good though. But having a 1080p screen is great since it allows 1080p30+vrr with demanding games and 1080p60 for older and less demanding games... for many games. And 720p with RIS looks great!
@@killzekat Console gamer? 16:9 are cramped and offer an inferior scaling experience (unless you are Switch and have to support the mainly for TV dock). That aspect ratio is good for TV panels, let's be honest. VRR at 800 is more necessary, due to the limited hardware and battery performance. Also playing "old" games at 1080p is a terrible experience due to bad UI scaling. Really no benefit. It's 2023, you should be able to understand how to avoid stretching in a videogame.

Splinter Cell Conviction/Blacklist, Echo, Remember Me, Dead Space 2, Or even older like Kingdom Under Fire, etc. Most of those games don't even offer the 800p resolution... I talk about the Ally, the SteamDeck, the GPD Win 3, and the Aya Neo and many handheld gaming i have or had... I also have the Switch but it's kind of off subject... My point is, that there is NO 800p native screens for handhelds PC's, they are normal actual portrait screens rotated to landscape, hence why some games act weird with the vsync off with some games. It's even worse with old games which do NOT handle the resolution at all. For those that do, either they are letterboxed or you do not gain anything since the game was made for res incremented usually at 540p,720p,1080p. And that's the case for ALL PC handhelds. A game at 720p60 with RIS and VRR looks better on the native Ally's 1080p screen than the very same game on my Deck at the same setting(when the Deck can go to 60fps as it's mostly 30/40 fps. Anyway, it's better to have the choice, on top of that, even more if said choice comes with almost no counterparty.

The temps are atually pretty low compared to steam deck. 60-70C is basically desktop PC level temps.
Disable PBO in steamdeck with modded bios. Minimal performance impact but great temp. Running max @75°C combined with TPM7950

o.o the technical jump and visual improvements from DOS2 to BG3 are as huge like from ocarina of time to breath of the wild xD
Textures are much higher and newer lighting tech is being used which is the main reason for the fps decrease
