This trumpet player is absolutely tremendous. My gosh, at tempo. And yet, when allowed to be expressive, wow, was he EVER. This is one case where I feel Matsuev let it get away from him. Just too much demo, and much of the sardonic humor was bypassed in favor of excessive tempo. The orchestra was excellent. I couldn't find the link to the 1st movement.
+Thomas Tobian That's certainly a valid point. Personally I really like this version, not as much as some others, but I still think it's very good. For me the feeling of this piece has always been about frenetic, almost frenzied, energy, to the point of madness, and so I appreciate the relatively fast pace.
Sergei is sooooo great.
Amazing.
Zdorovo, Sereja!
Мацуев сыграл прекрасно!
Only Nakariakov can play the ending clean at that speed.
Awesome!
Ich liebe das Saloon-Klavier am Ende! Great! Pardon mein German.
This might be the hottest trumpet player !!!
Sergei is a God on this.

Спиваков скрипач и очень хороший музыкант.
After hearing Kappel do this, nothing comes close.

the last part is so rushing,, he missed some scores... and I dont really like the tempo jumps (last part) too fast so that the feeling is lost
