Hello, thank you so much for your continuous support of the channel. I appreciate it. People like you, who appreciate my work, were the reason why I got back to collecting cacti again. God bless you too 😊
You can use any brand of fungicide or active ingredient (mode of action), but I recommend something that is systemic to protect the whole cacti. If you’re from the Philippines, this is the fungicide I use: Fungufree - s.shopee.ph/8f8Vwx00SK Folicur - s.shopee.ph/5poKZpV7Cg
I always watch your channel. You have been missing about 5months and now you are back. Thank you for the vedio. I used your soil mix recipes for my cactus. I wonder when you will make the vedio about Lophophora🤗 I want to know care guide and soil mix you used
Nice astrophytum collection. Do you have any idea why the hair/fur on astrophytum like at 3:17 turn to brownish color? I am having the same problem with my lb2178. I put it under shaded sun but watered it with tap water.
There are some Astrophytum that have yellow-brown hair instead of the white hair; this is perfectly normal. However, if the hair in growing area is initially white and then turns dirty brown or grayish, it's likely due to the accumulation of dust or the water you used. You can brush it with a soft brush or, during repotting, clean it with a gentle baby shampoo - I came across this technique used by Astrophytum growers in Thailand. Another reason for the yellowish or greyish color could be high humidity. Avoid wetting the hair for too long.
Awesome video - I have a question. When you buy a new plant and its root system is less than ideal (damaged and very small) how do you go about potting it up - does the pot need to be smaller to accommodate the roots, or do you always choose the pot size depending on cactus size and expecting the roots to recover with time? I know you have a repotting and pots size video but this has always bothered me.
Hello, I always choose the pot size depending on the cactus size. The roots will recover soon. Caci are pretty tough plants. They usually root fast as long as you gave them proper conditions. For cactus that don’t have roots, I usually start watering after 3 days. The amount of water is little, just enough for the soil mix to get moist - this will encourage the cactus to roots. I start drenching them or water them thoroughly when they are stable which usually takes 2-3 months. Also make sure that the damaged roots were healed before planting it so it will not cause any root rot.

hi po, i have a problem, a good portion of my cactus has mealy bugs, some with little infestation and some with alot. Any insecticide that i can use to treat them? do you happen to have a Lazada link? peanut cactus po pala yung mealy bugs po. Many thanks, nakakalungkot lang hays dami mayroon.
Starkle G (Dinotefuran) is effective. It’s a systemic insecticide and it will protect your cactus for around 3 months. Unfortunately, I don’t have a lazada link recommendation. Here’s a shopee link: shope.ee/6UzSly6gD8
@@theplantprinceph Thank you for the quick response! how much do i put po? and kailangan ko po ba i-repot muna sa bagong soil yung cactus?
@@zharakovjust a little amount lang, around 2 grams per 3 x 3.5 inches pot. You can check my other videos to get an idea. You don’t have to repot it. After putting starkle g, water the cacti right away so the cactus will uptake the starkle g. Is it 3x4 cm? Or inches?
Hello po....How to prevent rats sa garden?
Halaaa. Sorry pero wala ako experience with rats infestation.

Do you mind telling me the name of the dark green cactus at minute 2.05? ❤
It’s a Gymnocalycium mihanovichii var. angusto-striatum.
Nice topic
Thank you!

Hello po kuya! Can you make a video about different pesticides and insecticides and their applications po
Hello, I’ll try to make one.
Hey can you make a video about hybridization tips of gymnocalycium?
