We recently played this at our school concert and our soloist was truly amazing. I've been dying to find the soloist's sheet music and you're my saviour! 😂 I can finally play the parts that I couldn't play by hearing it a few times!
Perlman's performance still remains my favourite. I played this 20 years ago when I was in high school and looking back the score I ask myself now how on earth did I manage to learn this!!?
i actually played the second violin part to this once when A senior in my high school played the solo part. I have to now that im seeing what he was playing he was an extrememly good player
@@hudebnilidlprodukce5137 Yeah, those octaves are soooooo easy. Dude, I don't care if you're Hiefietz reincarnated, it's really freaking hard. If you want, I'll go through the entire recording and score as well as the rest of the movements to this piece to explain to you why it's hard. If it's so easy, I'd love to see a recording uploaded to your channel. I could do well with a better recording of mendelssohn.

Last night there was a symphony orchestra concert at one of my neighboring schools. The soloist for this song was a 13 year old and I swear it was the best performance ever. I'll be 13 in twelve days and I'm hoping to learn this soon. I still have to practice my shifting a little because it's off sometimes
The bowings aren't in "the original" at all; *major* issues of phrasing, slurring and other punctuation is likewise not noted in the manuscript or earliest editions. It's also easy to over-state David's contributions. Mendelssohn was not a professional violinist but he was the foremost conductor of his day, several of his (very few) students were Violinists and chamber players, and like B'ven and Mozart he played VIOLA in quartets. He certainly could mark a bow-stroke where (to him) important.
@DennyLyons The octaves in the "U" section are Auer's edit, not the original text. The dotted quaver and eight note formula is played correctly. Not all the bowings in this edition are the original, and it's a common practice to change some of them (for different purposes). Mendelssohn, not being a violinist himself, has collaborated with his friend, the violinist Ferdinand David, who gave him assistance in the writing of the solo part.
Andrian Harsono this and the bach partita are probably hardest in terms of expression and musicality, however the paganini sauret cadenza is probably the hardest thing ever.
+Mario Robe Not particullary any technique , but just playing triolets 1+2 very fast gives you this effect , used in many pieces f.e. Wieniawski - Scherzo -Tarantelle
+Jules Rubin There are triolets..count the beats! Even if it's the Alla Breve measurement and triolet would consist of actually 3 quarter-notes , having 3 + 3 equal eight-notes per beat in a binary meter , is practically the same.

Yes, I can see that happen many times in the recording vs the sheet music. I would really like to hear the original.
Bärenreiter Urtext is the way to go: Original notes, bowings etc. Don't buy the Study Scores though
Yeah, Leopold Auer always has weird bowings and fingerings.
