    When the greatest of the greats, John Williams, retires I believe that Kevin Kiner is the perfect candidate to take over Star Wars music. Filoni must take full control of Star Wars. Even Rey has potential with Filoni on the helm, writing her properly. Till then, I can't wait for the next episodes of Ahsoka.

    • @acslater017
      @acslater017 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I’m a fan of live action Star Wars but don’t know much about Clone Wars, Rebels, etc. I was a little skeptical when I saw Kiner’s name on this project - no input from the better-known names like John Williams (who at least did the theme for Obi-Wan) or Ludwig Goransson.
      I have to say I’ve loved the music these first 3 episodes. It sounds so classic, epic, evocative. The opening crawl feels ripped out of the 1970s or 80s, in the best way possible. Ahsoka’s first scene felt so Indiana Jones. The end theme is so unique and epic. Also, each “Star Wars” title card at the very beginning of each episode has slightly different music.

    • @evanskan6326
      @evanskan6326 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      @@acslater017 Kiner has also writen an amazing theme for Thrawn. "Thrawn's web" is one of the most menacing theme's I've ever heard for a villain. Whenever I hear that music - combined with Thrawn's threatening presence - I remember the Nazgul theme in Lord of the Rings. I get the same "threat for our heroes" vibe.
      Not to mention that I can't wait to hear to what he has made for the Ghost crew reunion scene (when they find Ezra).

    If I may respectfully offer this thought: I think the scene with Sabine and the ball from Ep 2 plays out at the pace that feels organic to Sabine’s understanding. I think if you really watch her face and just live in the moment with her, divorced from meta-thoughts tv vs movie pacing, the scene is simply letting her artistic thought process lead to the conclusion. You can see the wheels clicking in her eyes. I think if you tried to cut the scene shorter, it would feel like she was solving it too easily. That scene along with Ahsoka in the temple gave me all the feels of trying to solve a puzzle in Uncharted.

      @@proUNITEDSTATES Rebels is a 4-season animated series that can now be watched on Disney+. The Ahsoka show is basically a direct sequel to that show. If you’re not familiar, The Clone Wars animated show, also on Disney+, is where Ahsoka’s character originated. Clone Wars takes place between movie Episodes II and III, while Rebels takes place between the Prequel and Original trilogies. Both animated shows are phenomenal. Both get off to a bit of a slow start, IMO, but develop into some of the best Star Wars content out there!

    The scene of Ahsoka defending the ship from outside in space is a callback to Rising Malevolence, the 2nd episode of The Clone Wars. Ahsoka/Sabine's dialogue prior to Ahsoka leaving the ship is identical to when Plo Koon/Commander Wolf spoke prior to Plo leaving the escape pod to defend it from outside.

    To be fair to Qui-gon, he was lying there dying for like 10 minutes whilst Obi wan fought Maul without medical attention before he died.
    The only character that wouldn't have immediate access to medical facilities after being stabbed was Reva (twice). Which I agree was ridiculous to have her survive.

    • @Gatewave
      @Gatewave 11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I agree, Reva is the only one who really doesn't make sense. especially since she was stabbed (twice) by Vader himself, the second time after direct betrayal/treason.
      She really should have died in a tragic arc as was the original plan and allowed Obi Wan episode 6 to focus solely on Vader vs Kenobi, and it didn't make any sense that Vader didn't bother with finishing her.
      Qui Gon got stabbed through the spine and did not recieve any sort of prompt medical support. Darth Maul and the Grand Inquisitor drew on their hatred and darkness to survive. Sabine got hit in the side and was rescued immediately.
      Those are all explainable comebacks to me but Reva is what jumped the laser-shark

    To speak on the nerfing of lightsabers, George Lucas showed us how lightsabers literally radiate intense amounts of heat when Qui-Gon stabbed the door on the trade federation ship and it was melting it, so when Maul stabbed Qui-Gon and left his blade in him he cooked Qui-Gon's innards. Every single time someone has been stabbed with a lightsaber the blade has been left in for a length of time, yet Qui-Gon is the only one to die. Since Disney bought Lucasfilm, lightsabers are literally light sticks. Obi-Wan's lightsaber literally bounces off stormtrooper armor... STORMTROOPER ARMOR!!!!

    I think what we're seeing with the New Republic is the same arrogance we saw from the Jedi Order. This leaves plenty of room for an easy rise for the First Order. Cutting people up with a lightsaber was always frowned upon by the Jedi order. If people have a higher probability of surviving a stabbing, that would make more sense for the Jedi to prefer a disabling wound rather than a killing/maiming stroke. Even Count Dooku disabled Kenobi with a tap of the saber.He didn't maim Anakin until he pressed him. And can people get off of Star Killer already? He was a stupid and over the top broken character. He completely broke the concept of power scaling for force users. He can't functionally exist in canon without being nerfed into the ground

    This comment is coming after ep5 is already out so no spoilers for those not caught up, but
    I do really like where Filoni has taken this show so far, and I hope it sticks the landing. I'm happy with the direction they go with Marrok as some of the wilder fan theories while cool would have really done injustice to certain characters unless things ended up differently. The dogfighting and Ahsoka's spacewalk maneuvers in this one were awesome. I'm also glad that this seems to be the only shorter episode we'll get in the season, because that trend has been the biggest downside of the SW tv shows so far.
    If I had one critique so far, which is similar to what I'd want done to several of the other live action shows as well, it's that I wish the first four episodes had been condensed into two longer opening episodes, jumping right into what is episode 5 being #3 instead and leaving five full episodes of whatever comes after. I feel like both 1+2 and 3+4 feel like they're incomplete without each other as is, and if you trimmed some of the pacing people seem to be having issues with I think each of those 'arcs' could have fit into nice meaty hour-long episodes leading into the banger that is currently ep 5
    also just to clarify, when you said Andor did you mean Mando s3?

    20:23 Yes, the Jedi along with the Galaxy saw many generations of peace, but every successful Order needs to learn to adapt. The Jedi didn't, and it eventually caught up to them. I mean, think about it. After all these years of wars, the Jedi still decided to continue to be used as puppets for the Republic. They cared more about the combat training and the useless dogma more than their ethics. It was always going to be easy for Sidious to infiltrate the Republic. He played an effective long con, but the Jedi were absolutely blinded. Badass? Yes. Competent? Not even a bit.
    Yoda was legit so full of guilt over the epic blunder, he just exiled himself. Luke continued to repeat those very mistakes, and it resulted in the Jedi getting nearly wiped out yet again. The Order needs to change, or it will crumble to dust eventually.

      So would looking into the creation of the clone army and not waiting 3 years to do so. Or just retreating your fleet of star destroyers after the death star is destroyed instead of just easily taking out the rebels. Leadership in star wars has never been very bright.

    1000 years of peace then they allowed themselves to be made generals of war when they were "peace keepers". they had clone troopers who were the jedi's slaves literally used for war with no other consideration. the jedi are a perversion of the force like the sith, its why anakin wiping out the jedi order was bringing balance to the force. the jedi were wrong no matter how you feel about it and ahsoka is right to think so.

  • @MaximusMeridiusDK

    I have a few thoughs about the show, would love to hear you take on it Master Skyman.
    1. I feel like they nerfed Ahsokas powers heavily. She went toe-to-toe against Vader, and walked away unharmed. She defeated Maul, even bringing him in alive. Yet she is struggling with 4 droids i ep. 1, struggling against the inquisitor in ep. 2, and she lets the lightsaber fly by her instead of catching/forcestopping it... She should have held back the ship as well (like Vader and Rey)...
    2. If the Jedi knew of the purgils, and intergalaxy lanes. I would expect several jedi would have voluntered to connect with them and explore the unknown... I mean, it is over thousands of generations, and you are telling me Ezra is the first to go???
    3. If Sabine, Hera and Ahsoka really went looking for Ezra, and the droid had knowledge of the Purgils being present on Denab. Wouldn't/shouldn't they have tried going there already and Ahsoka could try connecting with the Purgil and get then to drag their ship to the same place as Ezra and Thrawn???
    Naming purgils "star-whales" is maybe the greatest name in SW history.... ❤️❤️

    • @magicconchshell
      @magicconchshell ปีที่แล้ว

      I wouldnt calll it struggling, she definatly had the upper hand, just like in rebels when she fought the inquisitors. Huyang never mentions a history of whales connected to that specific planet. He also says you would need an already tracked route to the other galaxy or you will most likely die going in blind. Its why everybosy assumed Ezra and Thrawn were dead all this time.

    • @MaximusMeridiusDK
      @MaximusMeridiusDK ปีที่แล้ว

      @@magicconchshell - I still feel that Ahsoka vs droids should be an easy match... Just think how she treated them in Clone Wars...
      Ahsoka vs Marrok should be like closer to Vader vs Reva...
      I thought Huyang said that previously they knew of the purgils migrating route between galaxies.... if that is so, they would certainly know the point of origin AND at the very least which galaxy they ended in...

    • @magicconchshell
      @magicconchshell ปีที่แล้ว

      @@MaximusMeridiusDK just that in olden days routes were establised from purgills rravels, not that they had any of them. And lets be real, how many times should greivous and other been owned in clone wars. Lighrsaber fights would be boring if there wasnt some back and forth.

    • @MaximusMeridiusDK
      @MaximusMeridiusDK ปีที่แล้ว

      @@magicconchshell - I totally agree about the back and forth. But Ahsoka is so powerful AND experienced, I feel like they underpowered her so much, just to have some back and forth... And I hate it, because I absolutely love Ahsokas character... And I would be as well entertained by her owning the droids and Marrok, as I was entertained by Vader vs Reva.... And it would have set up an epic battle with Sabine vs Shin, where Sabine gets injured (again). Ahsoka then comes in to fight Shin, who she injures and then Baylan comes in and we get Ahsoka vs Baylan as an epic battle... Baylan is defeated, but slows Ahsoka enough for Thrawn to escape, and voila... Season 2.... All of this is of course to rescue Ezra, who is held captive by Thrawn....

    An apprentice that has control over a creation George himself said that his Vader has an apprentice, which is now in the form of Ahsoka.
    Why Ahsoka? Why not.

    The series has been rather interesting so far however you have to take into consideration George Lucas actually first went to Disney way back in the day for the original trilogy and was basically said no to when he originally wanted to create Star wars to begin with and Disney didn't want to take the risk that is also along the lines of the way Disney is handling it the idea that oh we regretted everything that we ever did by saying no to begin with
