I really wonder why they didn´t do a real dettachable lid instead of one that is attached on the phone with glue.

The customer might get wrong ideas, like replacing battery instead of buying a whole new phone.

yeah, there is no profit from that. I don't know what they going to charge me within like 3 years from now. If its more logic to buy a new phone, I will just do that. I notice that 64GB loaded with apps will also consume all the 4GB RAM, which is not going to be enough. So upgrade would be necessary anyways I guess.

Small plastic clips can be less reliable than glue. It would be great if they’d just put the screws on the outside and sandwich everything between them. Instead of gluing on a mostly useless back cover.

Just a quick question - what do you use to remove the glued-in battery? Samsung doesn't use the pull-tabbed adhesive and it's basically impossible to remove them without risk of damage. I had some success with isopropanol, but you seem to use a more dedicated solution.

If you pause at 2:47, on above the brass threaded hole for the screw (to the right of it if the phone is upright) there is a small silver chip. What is this? I dropped my phone down my lift shaft and I’m
Replacing the screen and housing as it snapped, all internals are fine EXCEPT that silver chip. It fell off. This video was helpful to locate where the chip went, I’m not sure if it was soldered on or adhesive as I couldn’t see any residue of past solder on it. It seems to be tacky enough so that after I put a peg/clip over it, it isn’t falling off of the board anymore. I may put some glue over the top to keep it in place. Do you know what the chip is for? Thanks

Perhaps a sensor? It looks like it’s located next to the front facing camera.

When I turn on my mobile hotspot, what will offer the best signal? Lying down screen up , or standing the phone vertically?
    Just wondering

Technically, having the antenna perpendicular to the receiver is the best way (at least it's how it works on RC planes, no clue if that applies to phones).

Thanks for that tutorial, it was really clear. I've just had to replace the charging port on two phones. They both failed at about the same time - slow to charge and no data transfer. A bit of a poor design I think.

I replaced the battery and now I have no 4G network connection after assembly. WLAN is working, but no 4g connection, so it is not possible to call somebody. The phone always shows the error "Not registered in Network". Do you know why? Before disassembling everything was ok. I also double checked all connections.

    • @MovilonePhoneRepair

'XeNoN ' yes, I can because, for changing the charger connector you need to open the devise by the back cover so it a not any risk with the screen! Let me know if you need more information

is it a discrete removable component, or you didn't mention it in disassembling the phone just because it's integrated onto the mainboard?
