I think they just matches their choreography to the song to create balance. Actually, in my opinion they still gave a powerful/impactful choreography. I suggest you to watch the dance practice of this song and you'll see their that they're just too good enough.

🌎Fun Facts: XG is almost K-POP band. Korean dancer(Hyojin Choi) made XG’s choreography, Korean producer(Jacops) made XG’s song & music. And XG is trained in Korea for 5 years by K-POP training system. But all the members are Japanese.

2018 AVEX DANCE NATION.
Rumors that it started with 13people.
They were finally chosen by 7 people.

‪On April 22nd, 2022, producer Simon said on his Instagram live "I've the XG project was based in Japan for most of the 4years.‬"
The MV producer and choreographer are Korean and were shot in South Korea. The first video was uploaded in February 2022. Given that, they may have been in South Korea for preparation in 2021.
From such a thing, I think Simon's four years mean the four years from 2017 to 2021.
