Good question. He seems to be a special kind of visitor, as he's the only one who can force his way in, and can only kill if someone has either refused to care for others, or consistently made poor choices in who to trust.
Yeah bro he's obviously a lot stronger than normal visitors, considering that fact that a bunch of soldiers got speed blitzed by this random visitor without the visitor itself even getting bruised, goes to show that since these are people with a virus has probably mutated in his body.
The visitors are an allegory of demons. This is the rapture, god has come to the earth to judge all on their actions, by opening both the gates of heaven, and the gates of hell to earth. Earth is now scorched by the blinding all evaporating judging light of the heavens, this is too much for humans to bear due to their "original sin", so they die in the rays. The demons, called in game as visitors, are on a task to corrupt and abuse the hearts of those mortals left on earth. As it is their "task" now to test man's character. This is why they cannot breach your house, they need to be invited, because only then are their actions warranted, for they are doing so BECAUSE YOU FAILED. It is the self-doubt, the self-blame, the self-hatred etc. that they're looking for, for those emotions are what causes man to fall the furthest. The sole exception is the "creepy man" visitor. He's not your regular demon, he's Satan himself. He is the one who doesn't try to corrupt people, he's the one who judges. That's the reason why he maims and puts the corpses on display in front of your house; To put you in a state of duress so that your TRUE nature comes bubbling to the surface. And if your true nature causes you to shun your fellow man, causing there to be no more humans in your home with you, he judges you for it and drags you against your will into the bowels of hell. Then, there's one character that many overlook, the man in the suit. He's actually not a visitor, but something even far, far worse. The demons do what they do, because it is in their nature and they don't know better. This is why the woman in the coat is always complaining about it being so cold; she's aware that she's away from the warmth of "god's light", but doesn't understand (because she's a demon) that the only way towards the warmth of god isn't by clothing yourself, but to share your own warmth and love with others. The man in the suit however, understands it all. He is human, he understands the good, but CONCIOUSLY chooses to go against it regardless. He is a psychopath, he is worse than the demons. He is even worse than Satan himself. Satan at least punishes the unworthy and the sinners, but the man in the suit? He revels in it all, finally feeling that the times have come where he and "his kind" can truly be themselves.
He is visitor and dont hide it makes it even worse, just waiting on you to slip up, but why kill all armed soldiers and not just enter by force in the house? It like that vampire thing where you need to let them in yourself iirc...
@@Obert-c8t He's playing with his food (namely you) and relishing on the fear. I think the game is just very surreal, so its makes some people over-think things. my take is the game is just meant to be taken literally, there are non humans, the visitors are real. The only real question is if FEMA is helping, or part of it, since they are masked the whole time, and also if the "news" is trustworthy.
The news probably is atleast creditable, as most people who fit the description check (or atleast all of the descriptions) turn out to be visitors (havent played this game yet so idk all the mechanics but that's the info I have!!) FEMA definitely has smth to do with the visitors tho, bc they force you to give them more of your guests if you play ur cards right Lol idk dude
Well, if the game change its background settings from somewhere in Russia to Florida, it will most certainly increase its difficulty. I mean, surely it’s hard to tell the difference between “is it a visitor? Or just a Florida man?”
Despite the apartment blocks looking quite eastern European, it's probably somewhere in the US considering the style of TV channel (accounting for the presumed time period) and the fact that FEMA (a real agency btw) is active in the area. Also European houses don't tend to have front porches.
On the steam page for the game it says - "Random generation. Each playthrough will create new stories for you. With every new start, you need to learn again who is a guest and who is a human.", but I'm not sure if that's for the planned future version or also this demo version. It seems like at least the first two people are always human, maybe only some of them are variable.

Bit misleading because you kind of made up the stories in your narrative. I was more hoping for the actual story/endings but at the very least you showed who a few of the visitors likely are. Would've been nice if there was a disclaimer that this isn't the actual story or full explanation of the story in the game and just pieces of the game that you put together for an interesting story.
@@xenon3521again, the commenter's point was that the video title and setup implies this is a purely objective overview of everything that happened in the demo, yet there's extra little bits of story thrown in that wasn't present in the game, which makes the video a bit confusing or at least, not completely as advertised, so to speak.

This game would be so much better if there were no "visitors" and the player is just tricked into mistrusting (or even killing) strangers by the media.
If this is the case then considering the media told the player that the signs of "visitor" is black nails, clean teeth, red eyes and blurry photos and not to mention that there's some off-looking people that are visitors. If your idea is the case, then the Government is clearing out undesirables and drug addicts especially ones that look like that weird shoulder girl? (She looks a little bit creepy and ugly and is addict) Rich and Hygienic people? (Clean Nails but the sign is Clean Teeth) Poor and Unhygienic people? (Dirty Teeth but the visitor sign is Dirty nails) People with red eyes? Dunno. Idk about people with blurry photos. But who is the group/class of people the government trying to exterminate? Are they trying to depopulate the world to prevent overpopulation? Especially with all the examples I provided, population control is likely, no matter who the target is, population control in this case is wiping whoever is not valued. Tbh I think it's also to do with genetic disorders, (If there's no visitors at all) that weird shoulder girl could be a disabled or with deformity.
I think the visitors being humans and monsters are a statement about the dehumanising way worry from plagues leads people to treat infected people. Dangerous people don’t necessarily have bad intentions. People with bad intentions aren’t necessarily dangerous. Some people are obviously both. And being desperate for understanding of a clear mark between safe and unsafe can make scared people aggressive to others. Whether its aggression towards media, emergency aid forces or towards other people who become potentials of risk. Plagues makes everyone worrying and worried
I feel like it's meant to be a bit ubiquitous and it's more like a mesh of locations from the US and seemingly also Russia. either that or the devs, who i believe are also Russian iirc, meant it to be the US but inevitably their own culture/architecture made its way into the game. Pretty understandable if that's the case, but I think there's a lot of potential to the former idea.
You have a video on the endings but didn’t get all the endings? The game is super short, why make this if you’re not gonna be meticulous? Gotta watch someone else’s video now
Im so impressed by this game, it manages to put you on edge without any jumpscares or excessive gore, and its an amazing playthrough despite only being a demo, i cant wait for the full game
I think this game would be better if the visitor's were randomized every time. Excluding the tutorial neighbor, the tall slim guy (because he's the first person to come after the tutorial) and the little girl The numbers of visitors and humans should stay the same, but each character, excluding the 3 I mentioned, should have their dialogue and status as visitor or human randomized I say this mostly because the game is not very replayable as is. Once you've played through 3-4 times you'll have memorized everyone and if they're human or mot, and this simply takes the fun away on later playthroughs
this game have one weakness is visitor is lock to each character. so if you findout who is the visitor you can just refuse to let him in or just let him in and kill him. killed visitor will not result in you get kicked out of the house.

The game's files are pretty interesting. In order to keep you from cheating, there's a file depocting every guest with a blurred face, although not every image is used in-game. There's also an unused "granny" guest who wouldve sat in the empty chair in the living room. Apparently there's an easter egg where her ghost flashes onscreen, but the character prooer will never knock on the door.
Just a heads up, while the apartments do look Eastern European, this is likely just the devs doing since it’s what they know being from Eastern Europe. FEMA is a specifically American organization so this is set in America.
I think the swapped in fema and beer with russian counterparts just for the english version of the game. Thr hazmat suits, buildings, shotgun are all russian. There is also not a single black or asian character which would be highly unlikely in the US

no this takes place in a typical slavic country, because when you watch the tv it tells you that the ballet performance you watched reminds you of better days. many Slavic (especially Russian) countries also put on ballet when there are conflicts arising to soothe and remind people of “better times” in their childhood since ballet is a big thing in those countries. the buildings in the distance are typical poor Slavic apartment buildings and the people, especially the first guest, have Slavic features.
FEMA obviously isn't going to tell the truth. They're going to say whatever they think will have the desired result on the population. In retrospect they can always say, "we didn't know at the time," until 60 years later everyone who was involved in the scandal has retired or passed, and they declassify and we find out they knew they were lying all along, of course. That's how governments operate.

if a visitor can be killed with a shotgun, how did that other visitor manage to kill the group of soldiers? Do they have varying levels of strength or something like making the soldiers turn on each other through fear, paranoia etc
Love death and robots pfp, nice
@deontegreen9024 he seems to be the main visitor, a leader practically, as he calls other visitors "my boys", something this video sadly missed.

@@Obert-c8t He's playing with his food (namely you) and relishing on the fear. He will actually force his way in and kill you if you are all alone in the house when he pays you a visit, or if all of your guests happen to be visitors too. I think the game is just very surreal, so its makes some people over-think things. my take is the game is just meant to be taken literally, there are non humans, the visitors are real. The only real question is if FEMA is helping, or part of it, since they are masked the whole time, and also if the "news" is trustworthy.

(She looks a little bit creepy and ugly and is addict)
Rich and Hygienic people? (Clean Nails but the sign is Clean Teeth)
Poor and Unhygienic people? (Dirty Teeth but the visitor sign is Dirty nails)
People with red eyes?

Not gonna lie, this story reminds me of SCP-001 "When Day Breaks" by S. D. Locke.
7:17 fun fact: FEMA is a real organization
It likely takes place in the US since it references FEMA (Federal Emergency Management Agency) which is under the US Department of Homeland Security.

Im so impressed by this game, it manages to put you on edge without any jumpscares or excessive gore, and its an amazing playthrough despite only being a demo, i cant wait for the full game
I think this game would be better if the visitor's were randomized every time. Excluding the tutorial neighbor, the tall slim guy (because he's the first person to come after the tutorial) and the little girl
The numbers of visitors and humans should stay the same, but each character, excluding the 3 I mentioned, should have their dialogue and status as visitor or human randomized
I say this mostly because the game is not very replayable as is.
Yeah I was hoping it would be a little randomized with maybe corresponding changes in their backstory so details don't conflict.

My question, is that one guy with the shirtless / white teeth grin is the same guy who massacred the Group of Armed Soldiers and out the window was holding one of the armed soldiers head? With hollow eyesockets?
most likely yes, and perhaps the other visitors helped him
I like your style of telling a story where you add some details based on clues or speculation that aren’t actually explicitly stated in the game. Even though they’re not always accurate it makes it more interesting.
p.s. FEMA is a real agency that already exists, not one created for the game.
Everyone is assuming only visitors are killing people. How to keep everyone you let in safe becomes a lot clearer when you just focus on, is this person safe, rather than do they match the signs of a visitor.
