- Hey what's up?! In this video, I take a trip down memory lane and take you through what my first year of having locs was like. I keep it real here, because for me, it wasn't always a "pretty" road, but the growth is real y'all! (And I'm not just talking about my hair ;D). Hope you enjoy this video.

Same. I was scared after I twisted my hair at how few twist I had. Just wants to see how I would feel if I had locs. I thought the size of the twist was the size of the loc.

I’m starting my second loc journey (I’m 24 now but had them from 10-15 years old), and I really needed this! Thank you! I’m mentally preparing myself for all the stages, good bad and ugly. Your hair looks beautiful, love ur energy. I also have thin hair and I’m so worried about thickness

I came here for style inspiration for my first year (getting locked in 2 weeks) but don't even remember the styles you had because I just spent the whole vid gobsmacked at how pretty you were (FYI I'm a hetero woman)! I genuinely can't remember the last time I saw a woman as pretty as you!

I’m so glad this video was in my recommendation and I subscribe oh and I watch the full video it was outstanding you have some good tips your locs gotten really long and they nice big and full oh and at the beginning when you very first thought what product you use to twist your hair and the reason why I’m asking because I am on my second loc journey and I cut my first set of locs because the last person did my hair made them so small and I didn’t like it and they was breaking off but this time they are big and I have a full head of locs now and I started December 15, but what products you use on your locs at the beginning and how long did it take for your hair to lock up.

Your hair grow very fast I can't wait for mine to get long I just started my loc journey
I have a question. I’m on my loc journey and I’ve made it to my 3rd month. Umm the question is how many hours a day am I supposed to keep it wrapped/covered besides going to bed
I'd say let your hair breath bruh. When I wake up I don't put the satin durag on until it's time to go to bed again. Moisturize your scalp maybe twice a week with Jamaican Black Castor Oil, Tea Tree Oil, and water. Drink lots of water and yeah I think it's better to let your head breath cause you don't want all the stuff you slept with in your durag to accumulate all day in your locs or on your scalp.
Wait...I'm just excited I found someone with my name! This is so awesome haha I've probably only met 2 other people named Dara in my 31 years! Mine is spelled the same but I pronounce mine like Sara or Tara. Its my first name...my username is my middle bc I can always count on ppl to butcher it lol. Now let me get started watching the vid!

Thank you so so much for sharing your journey!! And thank you for showing that we all have insecurities we have to overcome. When you spoke about your parents it reminded of my own mother who is Southern raised and thinks locs are not attractive. I haven’t started mine yet but you definitely gave so much inspiration!!!❤️❤️❤️❤️
