It's cool to everyone know that one of the producers of the song produced the bohemian rhapsody of the kpop aka I Got A Boy by SNSD, and another 2 strange songs that-I-love-a-lot-but-not-everyone-thinks-the-same that it's Happiness by Red Velvet and Wolf by EXO.

Honestly that explains a lot, I knew he produced IGAB but not Happiness and Wolf, all these songs I adore for their strangest that isn’t so strange that it doesn’t work together.

6:15 the unsettling feeling is probably intentional, loona have mastered the art of "songs with an unsettling feeling to hint that something is about to happen in the loonaverse" 😂
from my interpretation, the beeping in the background is to hint at the cinderella thing. the "di da dam di dam di dam", "oh la la, why not?" is careless, carefree singing. the song hits the climax, it's past midnight, everyone is still dancing and the beeping gets more intense to hint that it's way past midnight but they don't care. there's something left unfinished after 'why not?' and the song matches it, i think their songs always match their loonaverse storyline and that's definitely something unique in kpop
The beeping sounds at the end sound like SOS in morse code. I think that's why I feel anxious towards the end of the song with their happy faces but the storm coming in and all of the happy vs dark images.
why is no one talking about 15:16 when kevin plays the bridge and they skip 4, meaning yeojin, and that's exactly the scene where she is being left out on earth! I'm shocked

Oh wow I never noticed the Di Da Dum Di Dum at the end changing notes in the last chorus, and I still didn't fully hear it until he played it on the piano. And yes, the Crazy Frog similarity is so true LOL

"Why Not?" is honestly a track so far out of my comfort zone for music. It's so odd that I'm obsessed with listening to it now. At the moment, hi high and why not are tied for my favorite loona title track.

One of the last statements the reactors made " I can't believe this doesn't annoy me" was exactly how I felt about it the first time I heard it. I was so intrigued I had to keep listening and ended up loving the song a lot. It's not my usual speed and from the 12:00 album I definitely vibe more with Voice/Star, Universe and Fall Again but Why Not is still something special.

6:16 when he said it was unsettling and wrong mood, i agreed so hard but to me it was unsettling because the song near that final chorus gives the vibe that even though it's really bright and fun, it just SOUNDS like it's missing something. maybe it's a loonaverse vibe but its gives a creepy vibe idk
this has given me SUCH a new appreciation for the song. upon release, i had complicated feelings as to why i liked it and why i didn't - the reactors put into words all of these thoughts!
The NY bros are easily my new favourite reactors. From the videos they've been in they break down everything in such simple layman way, while being quite informative, and it's so unassuming because...well they look and talk like bros.

"The duality of feminism" and then the conversation about the inclusion of black women made me so happy, Loona's music and concept is so nice. I'm not into all the lore and the "loonaverse" and all that, but I really love how they care about representing women around the world and how they say Loona is all the women in the world, not just them. They really feel like a girl group built for women, and all women at that.
I remember being mind blown when I realised their vocal third is lower in the final chorus (by singing it myself lol) and I'm so glad this was mentioned here cause I had no clue how to phrase it!!! it takes a few listens of this song to fully appreciate it imo

I agree with Kevin. As much as I love Butterfly and So What, at least for me, i have to be in a specific mood to listen to them but Hi High and now Why Not are so bouncy and easily digestible in comparison. Though it has it's own strange elements, it's still fun and exciting to experience over and over again and i truly missed that from Loona. It also vaguely reminds me of some of their predebut stuff.
I loved that breakdown of the beat during the first rap parts and how the melody slightly changes during the last chorus! I never noticed that before. That's why I love this channel ^^
