Allegedly A-Life 2.0 is broken to point of being defacto disabled, GSC said they were fixing it but will awhile and not in first round patches. Also Bloodsuckers and other mutants need re-balancing, less bullet-sponges but still dangerous.
The only major thing for me is that mutants are a black hole of bullets, and the game throws a bloodsucker whenever, it gets old. But I am loving the game, great so far
for me it aint even that , let them be tanky , but they should let us loot the mutant parts and sell them for a fair price , otherwise you got absolutelly to reason to pump 3 mags into a bloodsucker and get nothing in return
The issue is that they have really high armour levels. There is in game text which directly contradicts this mechanic such as the expansive 5.45 bullets specifically mentioning they're for soft or unarmoured targets like mutants, which makes me think they buffed their armour later in development. With a mod which reduces their armour levels it's much less spongy, but in normal unmodded gameplay you'll want to use your highest penetration weapon with AP ammo to deal with them. The best solution for dwarves and controllers has been an RPG, but AP ammo in one of the Penetration 2 assault rifles like the GP37 is serviceable if you can kite them to break line of sight. Grenades are surprisingly useless even with close explosions.
stalker 2 really fumbled the factions and the mutants unfortunatelly and a life is pretty much unexistent , most of the time you dont fight enemies that are roaming the world and you happen upon them , they just spawn behind you , the open world is gorgeous tho , i loved how they tied all of the previously separated maps into a big one
Luckily I am postponing my playthrough of STALKER 2 until around Christmas. Hopefully a bunch of fixes will be done by then and modders will have taken care of some other gripes. I hope A-Life2.0 is better by Christmas but I fear that one may take more time.
S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 released right at the time of year many of us have to drop some serious cash on everyone around us. After the dust settles and I am able to once again treat myself? I'll be dicking around in the zone once again, lads.
Very nice summary, from my play through i hope that stalker two fixes the A-life a little with spawns and such. As well as the mutents being very tanky
@@WaveysGamingAdventure Best way to think wavey, if there's a bolt action rifle you can add a mosin. Remember Grok has already modded health values and now we're seeing actual mods crop up on nexus. It's only a matter of time.
@@RayneRaven I'm telling you, Insurgency is Unreal Engine 4. It has what I (should) need to do it. But I haven't done work that extensive in a game engine yet.
With the a-life being the way it is rn the game feels empty not in the worst way because given the lore of how the factions are it kinda makes sense why there's not big faction skirmishes. I also like how nearly every gun is viable if you're using the right ammo and aiming for the head
@WaveysGamingAdventure will say that later on in the story the open world does light up for a while. That just might be my game tho maybe the spawns around me made the game feel alive. I know a-life isn't really working right now
There's a lot to like about STALKER 2 but the more I play the harder it is to tolerate the problems. The bugs, the performance, the weird balance decisions and removal of useful features, the frustrating lighting and the lack of A-life hurt all the gameplay experience enough that I'm putting the game down for a year or until they get it into a better state.
I hear you. It could be worth a look over at Nexus. A lot of mods have come out already trying to adjust a ton of things. I believe it's a good platform to build off of, but you are right GSC needs to attend to many things to get it in proper shape.
Curently A-life isnt really implemented. Also the mutant health is way too overtuned. Also the economy and degredation rates are wonky. With all that being said i think this game fits exactly what i want from stalker. Im gonna return to it once its fully fixed whether through mods or official patches. Cant wait since what is there is really beautiful. Just needs some more time before im willing to leave the garbage and move deeper into the story and zone.
This is controversial but i dont fuck with the new emissions. I miss the call of pripyat ones which felt like the sky and clouds were opening up and bleeding out the psy energy almost which then culminated in the red. Stalker 2 its all just red and theres some lightning. No nv also kinda annoying but hey u can sleep. Other than that i love it.
I don't know about this game man, in the other games you used to get into gunfights left and right by bumping into an enemy squad, in my 10 hours of playing only once did an enemy squad spawn in my vicinity and with the stupid ai you can just take cover and shoot them while they rush you like braindead zombies. The gunplay is good but the gunfights are not at all intense, plus (i know its my problem) i have a 2060 rtx and the game runs horribly at times, cant even get 60 fps at medium settings. I think they can make the game really good with some tweaks, updates, fixing the A life system and just optimizing some stuff.
Im not getting really into it. Wondering if a life was ever in this game. It feels like Far Cry with a Stalker skin on top and just some bones from Stalker. I like the Story an World so far, beeing 15h into it and to see familiar faces, places from previous stalker games. but gameplay wise it´s strange for some reason. Time will tell.
games great, but as a few people are saying it’s not really alive, enemies will spawn behind you because they don’t render out past 100m. all of the code for A-Life 2 is there but it’s not enabled probably do to issues. there isn’t even gun audio for shots past 100m. There’s also code for skinning mutants, it’s not enabled. there’s a lot we’re missing out on do to it just not being ready, but i hope we will and it doesn’t take too long for it to happen or else relying on modders may be the case. day 1 of the game being out and there was already a mod/startup fix that removes most if not all stutters.
As a fan of the series since the first one, I'm not a fan of the enemy and NPCs not existing until you get right there next to them. Once they fully implement A-Life, it will be much more STALKER feeling with enemies and NPCs roaming around. The previous games felt more alive because the NPCs already exist out in the zone and they had their own lives and activities. The way it is now makes it feel scripted with forced encounters. It makes stealth tactics useless. Once they spawn in, they seem to know exactly where you are, no matter how well you're hidden. I have faith they will make good and deliver the experience we were promised. It's just gonna take some time.
@@lVl_A_L_B_O_R_O When I played the previous games, I got pretty good at sneaking around and wiping out enemies without being caught. Not happening in this one until they fix that spawn system. Hopefully it's fixed by the time you play.

I'd definitely recommend some files to fix that. Took me all of 30 seconds.
@@bradenhagen7977 there are no files to fix a-life. Why does this game need so many shills lying about it on social media?
Modders have put out a couple attempts at getting a real A-Life going. But it's not easy and they keep changing things. GSC needs to get on it IMO.
PM only run?

I never understood them taking out mutant harvesting it was present in Shadow of Chernobyl but never showed up in CS or CoP

@@LordOOTFD Yes that what I have notice. Grenades might as well be toys to mutants
Already added a few files to revert the bloodsucker, and Fleshes back to the original 3 values. SO MUCH better. Took all of 30 seconds

Modders have been working so hard to try to fix things. It's surprising how much they've done in just the past weeks
getting my new pc with a rtx 4060 and a ryzen 7 5700x next week.
I'm just too exicited to play stalker 2 after 15 years
should have gotten a card with 12gb of vram
@YumiiSauce i thought about that, but I needed a budget pc with reasonable power consumption
