I have a 2016 sl550 with AMG package and B&O system. I updated the system with CarPlay and ECU tuned it. Once you know this car there’s really not much else out there. The way the seat hugs me in a turn, dials back my crazy when I think I know what I’m doing, and pins me back hard where I’m holding on to the steering wheel recognizing I wasn’t ready for that. It’s amazing.
I think I wish I had the carbon brakes.

The R129 was the last good SL Class. Then Mercedes fucked the SL Class in the ass with the R230 generation and then it started to fail.

This generation SL was lost from day one, just not an attractive car. The facelift helped, but couldn't bring buyers back. The interior is clearly from another era at Mercedes-Benz.

Super geiles Auto, kleiner Kritikpunkt: zu großer Überhang vorne, kleine Räder in den Radkästen, da wenig Zoll. Das wird in der nächsten Generation besser, hoffe ich. Trotzdem kaufenswert.

Very dated. I agree 💯. Instrument and center display is quite outdated. It has a great engine though and rear. Front look, not as good.
