The more you do with longer walks makes you stronger.
The stronger you are the better your work and the stronger Eagle Eyes will get.
You are raising a very active family, a great inspiration or many people.

Merry Christmas, I think it would be great if these old bunkers were restored they would be great for tourism, maybe even lightly repurpose some. It’s a shame to see them slowly rot away

Hopefully they were cast shut to protect the contents from scrappers and vandals to preserve it for future generations when the importance are realised, seems to take around 150 years, so half way there! 🤞🤞
Although videos like this do spread the word and interest in such places, so that might well speed up the process. Please keep up the good work your family does HH et al.

I'm with you in being so disappointed that they decided to block up the entrances to the bunkers in that region. When you showed us that one gun that hadn't been removed or cemented I was given some hope that whatever lies inside the bunker complexes may be in better condition than many others. The view through the small porthole at the front of the gun showed that the parts were in remarkable condition, and seemed quite complete. If I were you I'd contact those responsible for maintaining the area and see what their plans are, and put in a plea to allow access. If the area is far enough away from population centres you might find that relatively little metal reclamation occurred.
Thanks for your hard work in bringing this location to us 🙂. And I can't wait to see Eagle Eyes' project as well. He's a great young lad, and that's a huge reflection on his dad. All the best, and a belated Merry Christmas if I've neglected to do so before hehe.

Another great video, HH. That they cast all the buildings closed shows ignorance. The first 150mm gun should have had the barrel gas-axed off, leaving no questions. We seem to try to idiot-proof everything, but all we accomplish is the need to change more things. This is one heck of a site. Trust that you had a good Christmas. Take care and be safe.

It is truly a shame that someone ordered all those bunkers and entrances concreted shut. To see that 15cm barrel sticking out of a wall of concrete was just so disappointing, and really does not do the history of that location any good. I guess because the area is fairly remote, they didn't want anyone getting lost in the bunkers, and tunnels, or hurt, but some of those smaller bunkers could easily have been left open. Truly disappointing. But, kudos to you guys for trekking all over the area to bring us such an amazing location. Seeing that "open' 15cm really gives you a good idea of how important the whole location was to controlling the waterways around. Looking forward to Part 3, and, EE's Special Project. Cannot wait. Cheers to you both!

I wonder why they cast off all these bunkers? Were the people of the area trying to erase the German footprints in the area or just to deter vandalism of these bunkers? Seeing the guns still there was interesting. Wish you could have been able to go inside to see the mechanism that makes them fire. I do hope they open these bunkers in the future so the history of what went on here could be told. Another nice video you have presented.

I liked that they did not bury the other smaller calibre gun in concrete it would be amazing to get inside and have a good look. So HH who do you have to bribe to get a peek in lol just kidding mate. Well, you can see how people treated those aircraft , vehicles, cannons, and like these fortifications you walk through, after WW2. Money for scrap steel, and aluminum made a lot of good incomes for people after the war. No one thought of history back then. It's a shame to us now, but it was a living to many back then.

A slightly inaccurate way to measure for you in the field. If you hold up your hand with the fingers extended across your palm to the outside of your thumb is roughly 4 inches. or 10 cm. This is how horses are measured, in hands. Now you know how to roughly measure something quickly. So the opening would be 1 and 1/2 hands for 15 cm

This location has concreted up the installations but other places you have been to haven’t, so is this location a different country?

@ still not the answer HH 👀
What I’m trying to ask is this…..does this specific COUNTRY concrete up these bunkers whilst other countries let you explore at your own risk, or was it just a random location that had been concreted up?
