Before this lady, I had spent 30 days pulling my out trying to learn about tissues, now everything makes sense after Anatomy Hero. Literally she's my teaching hero.
A way my teacher helps us remember elastic cartilage is it looks like hairy ears(ironically is the cartilage in your ears also). Itsss so gross you won’t be able to forget. Awesome video as always!
thank you so much for your clear explanations! I spent hours on lecture and could not understand how to identify the structures but your 4 min video clarified how to identify cartilage on practically any slide!!!
Correction: elastic fibers CAN be stained other colors, but with the most common stain, they will be purple. you are a life saver i have 5 weeks of anatomy left i was on the verge of giving up. i found your videos now i am ready to take my practical exam tomorrow morning all consists of looking in a microscope and identifiying connective tissue, cartliage and mussels keep the videos coming if you have any videos on understanding the integumentary system and skin i would love to watch. Also any videos on the bone tissue and the skeletal system i would love that Thank you!!!!!!
I agree! Whenever I'm showing a student how to use a microscope I'll grab an elastic cartilage slide so that at the end they are rewarded for their efforts with something beautiful! 9/10 times I'll hear a little "oh!" of amazement that tells me they've got it in focus 😁
I was about to drop a&p today until I found you yesterday! I've been watching constantly and feel so much morr prepared! The slides at the end is perfect to test yourself after! Thank you.
Fibrocartilage vs dense regular can be difficult from pictures. Fibrocartilage will appear like hyaline close to the edges...and dense regular in the middle (because both have collagen fibers mixed with cells) so from a single picture it can be difficult because they genuinely can be indistinguishable. In the first example I show (with all three side by side) you can see the collagen fibers are running in two different directions, which you wouldn't see if it were dense regular (although, not all fibrocartilage looks like this) I wish I had a better answer, but you honestly might not be able to tell the difference depending on the view.
just wanna ask what is the difference between dense collagenous and dense elastic? also there's a dense fibrous..? and where are those located? im so confuse on that part. thank you. hope that u can answer me since i'll be having a move exam tomorrow. appreciate u a lot!
Dense collagenous and dense fibrous are just two names for the same thing.... Dense elastic has purple collagen fibers mixed in... Both dense fibrous and dense elastic have regular and irregular varieties.... The regular has fibers going in one direction, The irregular has fibers going in many directions th-cam.com/video/dnEQD-G8o9M/w-d-xo.html I show dense regular AND irregular fibrous.... but only dense regular elastic here. Dense regular fibrous you find in tendons and ligaments. Dense irregular fibrous you find surrounding organ capsules. Dense elastic I know you find in the walls of the aorta to make it bouncy but I've never bothered to learn about irregular versus regular. Hope that helps good luck on your test!
Rats. I should've done more background research before using the word ALWAYS. Regardless of the color, the pattern of the many close together lacunae with strings in between should hold true!
Hmmm ... Sorry to hear that! Are there specific ones you are getting confused? Sometimes it is helpful to get a few examples of each tissue type that you are getting confused and look at them side by side. Try to spot similarities and differences. Looking at multiple examples at the same time helps you see the pattern.
The fibrocartilage is not, H&E never stains blue. I'm guessing that one is anniline blue. If it was H&E it would look the same except like pink ramen noodles instead of blue ramen noodles. The others do appear to be H&E but I have more experience with identifying than staining.
Your slides are just perfect textbook like but the slides that my histology teacher show are just shit and plus they show us the slide in 1990 Panasonic screen 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭

You are the reason I’m passing anatomy thank you so much your videos are amazing !!
Wow, elastic cartilage is so beautiful! The close up reminds me of an abstract painting, I love it!

Thank you so much!! My histology exam is next week, and this has been an awesome refresher 🎉
Im studying for my exam and your vidoes regarding identifying type of tissue is helping me soooo much ... thanks a lot!
You're very welcome! Good luck in your studies!
super helpful, straight to the point didn't even need to watch it on 2x speed
thank you! you just saved me from my histology class, such a hero!
These videos are saving my life!!!! I appreciate you so much!!
I will get good marks in my histology exam tomorrow because of this video. Thanks
Thank you, we were discussing this matter in our practice class of histology 141, nice short video to help out
I was about to drop a&p today until I found you yesterday! I've been watching constantly and feel so much morr prepared! The slides at the end is perfect to test yourself after! Thank you.
THANK YOU SOO MUCH, U REALLY ARE THE ANATOMY HERO!!
You are wonderful. Thank you. I am studying pharmacy college and it has helped me a lot
Best video on internet 🎉❤
you helped me way more than my teacher🙏🏻🙏🏻thank you so much
You're so welcome! Happy to help!
I understand why your name is Hero. Thank you so much ! 🙏
Just love for this kind of explanation ❤
Very helpful 🙌🥰
I appreciate this video
Great Video. Very much appreciate!
Professors should play your videos at lectures
Nicely explained
your videos are so helpful !!!!
Wow wonderful explaining thank you so mush, you are easier anatomy to me💜💜💜
appreciatable you nailed it
That trick was good tho 😂 I said fibro right before you said it out
Thanks a lot... will surely beat ma paper😁😁
once again my hero 🙏
This was so helpful! Thank you!!
You're very welcome!
Great content. Please how will you distinguish between the fibrocartilage and the dense regular connective tissue ?

I wish I had a better answer, but you honestly might not be able to tell the difference depending on the view.
I think you answered this perfectly. Fibrocartilage looks like dense regular connective tissue in the middle and hyaline at the edges. 2:13
This actually helps my teacher taught it in 10 minutes and everyone was lost😭
Happy to help! I have a whole histology playlist if you need help with anything else!
just wanna ask what is the difference between dense collagenous and dense elastic? also there's a dense fibrous..? and where are those located? im so confuse on that part. thank you. hope that u can answer me since i'll be having a move exam tomorrow. appreciate u a lot!

@@AnatomyHero yay! learned a lot. thanks for this info! appreciate u.
Histo exam in next hour
Very helpful.tq very much
For elastic cartilage in my bio 2 class we were looking at a piece under the micro scope and it was pink
Rats. I should've done more background research before using the word ALWAYS. Regardless of the color, the pattern of the many close together lacunae with strings in between should hold true!
@@AnatomyHero yes it does but its hard to see the strings between with 640x magnification
THANK YOU!
Thank you 🙌
Thank you so much
Great Video.
So helpful!!!!!!
I thank you 👍 very much ❤
thank youu so much
Wooow thanx❤❤❤
love your videos. just mentioning in first slide, "cartilage" is spelled incorrectly
Whoops! Its even in the thumbnail and I didn't even notice!
Carteledge
Thanks a lot
Thanks a bunch, ma'am!!Your trick, however, did not work on me ;).hehe
😂😂😂😂😂😂+++
Hmmm ... Sorry to hear that! Are there specific ones you are getting confused?
Sometimes it is helpful to get a few examples of each tissue type that you are getting confused and look at them side by side. Try to spot similarities and differences. Looking at multiple examples at the same time helps you see the pattern.
Oh no ma'am.I don't mean to worry you.The video was super helpful.I just meant the trick question with the two fibrocartilage slides.I got it correct
Ooooooohhhhhh, I remember now! Happy to help!
Allah bless you
Thanks 🌷💚
❤❤❤❤thank you so much
No problem! Good luck in your studies!
I didn't fall for your trick, I eat a lot of ramen I know my stuff.
😂
Thank u
love you
Are these all H &E stained sections?
