    This is a great example of what I love about HB - I would never have tried one of these since most models are not cheap for such a specialized instrument. I just picked one up on a whim and I'm so excited to try it!

    It looks like you read my requests of Harley Benton's we wanted to see! Thanks. Steve Howe, of Yes, uses a lap steel for some of their best music. I'm no Steve Howe, but, I might have to get this. It's really cool! Thanks for the demo, great job!

    It's no reflection upon the instrument it's self . But the gentleman "demonstrating " is an obvious Guitarist , using guitar techniques , and guitar equipment , and no familarity with Lap playing technique .

    I bought me one of these HB lap steele guitars, they represent a really good value for money. The only thing I didn't like were the light gauge strings (0.10 to 0.48) it came with. I switched to a heavier gauge, a set of Pyramid Nickel Roundwounds (0.18 to 0.60) and it made a world of difference. The string kit does only cost 9 euro, and it's really worth the trouble to change. I wonder why Thomann doesn't fit these strings right away......

    • @carloto96
      @carloto96 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I think it came with 0.10s, I immediately changed them with flatwounds because rounds sound so bad on a lap steel

    • @filianablanxart8305
      @filianablanxart8305 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Depending on your tuning , the string gages are totally different . Consider it a given to discard whatever string like objects come from the factory , and replace with a set appropriate for your preferred tuning .

    you guys should design it to be longer next time so that one can install a multibender on it. I would have bought it if so (for instance you can install one on a grestch because of that form factor)

      Add a block on the back end. That’s what I plan to do. This design has been around awhile with different labels in the headstock. I bought one 20 years ago with the brand name Artisan

    hi great video i wonder if you can tell me how the c sharp sounds? :-( i dont now and i understand that you tell E B E C# B E thats i can make as tuning my lap gitaar can you pleas help me whit the sound of the C? many thanks ahead

    • @SpaceDisco1
      @SpaceDisco1 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Koos van Raaij It‘s actually G#. This way you get a E-Major Triad of E,G# & B. (A C# would make it a C#min7 without the fifth and also without the root as the lowest note which gives it a very weird feeling.)

  • @DMSProduktions

    Probably BETTER to use a volume pedal on it for swells!

    two major issues, the tuners are horrid, i dont know why you went with this style, second is the nut, its just not good, if you bend behind the nut your tuning disappears. Third use a tone bar not a guitar slide. fourth use a volume pedal for swells,
