The sloping bootline looks cool but removes any practicality in such a huge vehicle.

Surely it should be compared to the Range Rover Sport and not the Velar?
The Velar may be a fair bit smaller but the RR Sport isn't really a "fashion" SUV

Minus the Pontiac Aztech’ish front end, it’s not a bad looking Audi... now once they match a better performing power train, they’ll be onto something... until then I’ll stick with the cabin crunch of the X6 (over the Range Rover overall reliability concerns)... as for the Mercedes GLE... 🤢

It's an SUV - NONE of them are fun to drive. They have a very different design brief to a driver's car. That's why as well as my Touareg ('19) I have a 911 and a DC2 ITR. Oh, and a 20V ur quattro. Love the Touareg as a commuter/tow/race car service vehicle, the rest are consummate driver's cars.

Why are car manufacturers using cheap shiny black plastic on the interiors, looks cheap, scratches quickly. A big no no

That gearbox, in 2019 should be able to be improved with a simple software update. Shame we aren’t there.....yet
Wrong. It’s a consequence of emissions control, and will be found in all diesels complying with the latest EU standard.

The Q8 is along with the Velar the only one of these "Coupé SUV" style things that gets the styling right. The X6/4 and GLE/C both look incredibly awkward, and if you have to go the whole squatting dog route then the Renault Arkana does it better than them too.
You clearly haven't seen the new Touareg then either. Not a fan of current BMW styling which is at it's worst in the X series cars. The Merc SUVs are simply dull. Stelvio, F Pace, Q8, Touareg, maybe Rangies, best of the crop - but beauty is in the eye of the beholder every time...
I think Q7 should be the better choice here when it comes to premium luxury SUV, it is more practical, same level of comfort, more options of trim levels (like black edition or sport edition), Good family all rounder with 7 seater option. Also it is slightly cheaper too !! My vote goes to Q7 rather than Q8
My vote goes for to the Q8. Not everyone wants to lug 7 seats around. Hope it’s got a half descent spare wheel. So often lacking in the competition.
It's a lovely vehicle, but no it's not the best on sale. See that's my opinion, it's purely subjective based on preference, needs and bias towards a particular brand. I might choose a RR Sport or a new X5, you might choose a Q8... Carwow chose the Q8 over the new RR Sport and quite rightly so :)
Huge! Size of a van. Worthless, almost, in European cities imo.
Try to park this anywhere. All parking spots are too small.
All streets in cities to narrow.
No one needs a van for their families.
I feel your pain and I'm sorry about the lack of parking and space on the road in your side of the world, but i love every second driving mine, in the US maybe you can try moving to a place with more space and bigger roads or take a vacation there and rent one whiles U there

A fully loaded 2019 Touareg has same engine, gearbox and drivetrain, a far better infotainment setup, inferior cabin quality but not by much, will save you a truckload of cash and you won’t be seen as just another Audi wan*er!
