    Even 27 years ago I just hope she didn't struggle in vain inside the car. Hopefully she'd lost consciousness before she drove off the road. Such a sad lonely way to perish and the family didn't know for sure until now. Icy roads near water are my driving nightmare.

    The sense of relief to the family of the missing woman must have been overwhelming!
    To know for certain that their beloved family member had died in a naturally occuring road accident and that no criminal act against them was involved would bring huge relief.
    Very Well Done to the Diver that discovered the wreck and reported it to the Police.
    His actions have helped to ease their grief by answering the questions that had troubled them for the past 27 years.

    I was there when this car was being pulled out (stuck in traffic while the crews worked). Thank goodness the family finally gets some closure after all these years.

      When a car goes in fresh water and stays there for a long time being water logged and having a heavy soot covering would prolong the car compared to it being on the road.

      @Stop the BS I'm talking about an old skewl all steel frame vehicle prob not quite 4 ton but in the 80s cars were a lot heavier made out of all steel. Now cars are mostly made out of plastic and material that absorbs impact and is lighter weight. I would not want to be in an all steel frame vs steel frame accident nor a steel frame vs newer frame ouch.

      I thought that too. If an elderly friend or relative vanished along with her car I'd walk or bike every mile of her route. Even if she fell asleep and there weren't any skid marks you'd think there'd be torn up ground, etc.

      It's Canada - could have been ice on roads leading to loss of control and no tire marks - also the woman went missing but no-one knew where so police wouldn't connect random tire marks on a road with her missing.

    Really an amazing story. I feel so bad for families of missing persons. It must be so hard to continue on not even knowing for sure if your loved one is dead or alive. Such a long distance she was traveling, would have been nearly impossible to search the hundreds of kilometers/miles she had traveled. Glad they at least have some questions answered.

      I've seen a more detailed video about this. They believe she just swerved for some reason, like drowsiness or wildlife. The stone edge of the road was built later I believe was said, so there was nothing to catch the vehicle.

    This is amazing. Near where I live back in the early 1990s, we had a severe drought and a lake dried up and an old car was found. It turned out to be two woman who went missing in the 1950s who were in the car. They missed the turn in the road and went into the lake so many years before.
