The kid originally saw the car from the SURFACE ? 27 years, and no one else saw the car in the water ?
That’s what I was questioning Rick it’s weird.
Who knows, perhaps the conditions just happened to shift and increased visibility.
I think I saw this before, and in that other video is explained better, if you stand there, can’t see it , he was able to see it with the drone.

Even 27 years ago I just hope she didn't struggle in vain inside the car. Hopefully she'd lost consciousness before she drove off the road. Such a sad lonely way to perish and the family didn't know for sure until now. Icy roads near water are my driving nightmare.

The sense of relief to the family of the missing woman must have been overwhelming!
To know for certain that their beloved family member had died in a naturally occuring road accident and that no criminal act against them was involved would bring huge relief.
Very Well Done to the Diver that discovered the wreck and reported it to the Police.
His actions have helped to ease their grief by answering the questions that had troubled them for the past 27 years.
I would be relieved they didn’t die by a criminal act, but knowing they drowned would be horrible

I was there when this car was being pulled out (stuck in traffic while the crews worked). Thank goodness the family finally gets some closure after all these years.

It is a great idea, if you have one, to enjoy your pastime, droning. If you consider so doing that only over lakes, thank you for your diligence to help... consider to include as much of your surroundings, as possible.

Some one found a car like this with a drone before. This video is on TH-cam. The car was like less than 100 from the back of a house. It had been there for years.

When a car goes in fresh water and stays there for a long time being water logged and having a heavy soot covering would prolong the car compared to it being on the road.
Yea they were also 1-2k lbs heavier. They lasted longer but were 4 ton death machines.
@Stop the BS I'm talking about an old skewl all steel frame vehicle prob not quite 4 ton but in the 80s cars were a lot heavier made out of all steel. Now cars are mostly made out of plastic and material that absorbs impact and is lighter weight. I would not want to be in an all steel frame vs steel frame accident nor a steel frame vs newer frame ouch.

He saw it using a drone. Standing on the ground wouldn't have given high enough of a vantage point. The sad thing is, if they had searched there with a helicoptor, they would have seen it.
This is beyond imaginable. Her family finally rest. Almost 3 decades. This boy has brought the light to this family.

Everyone known never leaves. But not all are found.
Finally, closure for her loved ones and on another note, lakes here and around the world holds a lot of bodies, we just haven't found all of them yet.

The reason you sometimes can't see an object so deep is that water especially murky has many distortions. Ripples waves sunlight all play parts .

I thought that too. If an elderly friend or relative vanished along with her car I'd walk or bike every mile of her route. Even if she fell asleep and there weren't any skid marks you'd think there'd be torn up ground, etc.
It's Canada - could have been ice on roads leading to loss of control and no tire marks - also the woman went missing but no-one knew where so police wouldn't connect random tire marks on a road with her missing.
So sad 😞 💔 I’m glad her family now have answers.

Really an amazing story. I feel so bad for families of missing persons. It must be so hard to continue on not even knowing for sure if your loved one is dead or alive. Such a long distance she was traveling, would have been nearly impossible to search the hundreds of kilometers/miles she had traveled. Glad they at least have some questions answered.
I'm glad this young bloke was the catalyst in solving this lady's disappearance and ultimately bring closure for her son.
I hope though that he's not been traumatised by his find.

This clip is over a year old. The account holder probably just shared enough to get web traffic to their site. You might find better info on the local news paper's site.
I've seen a more detailed video about this. They believe she just swerved for some reason, like drowsiness or wildlife. The stone edge of the road was built later I believe was said, so there was nothing to catch the vehicle.

My heart goes out to the Family of this Woman. I can't imagine what her final moments were like and I hope she finally has peace knowing her Loved Ones are not wondering any longer and that it brings peace to the Family to finally know what happened.

How sad for the victims family. Their mother suddenly disappears one day and they spent 27 years agonizing over where she is and what might have happened to her and possibly holding out for a miracle only to find out that she actually did pass away... in a horrible way. So sad.

No, he spotted it from the surface of the lake, which is very different. But if the found license plate was at that spot, maybe the cops should have looked harder. As always with these brief summaries, the details are somewhat lacking.

This is amazing. Near where I live back in the early 1990s, we had a severe drought and a lake dried up and an old car was found. It turned out to be two woman who went missing in the 1950s who were in the car. They missed the turn in the road and went into the lake so many years before.
And it's probably that thing where the water is pushing on the doors and windows and it takes tool long for the pressure to equalize and thier stuck.

The distance between Vancouver Island and Alberta BC is about 920 kilometers or 575 miles. What do you expect the police to do? Dredge every body of water between the two?
