She'd wanted to do this for some time & lockdown (C-19 lockdown in Australia) gave her the time to work on this. Being mainly family they were all there & here is something special that came from lockdown.
I love where Kasey takes this...back to the emotional early days of Eminem's life....sad, cruel, abusive and brings in the 'angst' of emotions that he would have felt...(not just the rage) But then let's it all go and we are swept along with all the frustration and anger of being ignored etc....A real tribute to the lyrics of Eminem.....she did him proud I'm sure....
Kasey Chambers is a huge Eminem fan, so during the lockdown for Covid she reworked Eminem's rap song into her own song; with the assistance of her father(Bill, he was the one playing the slide guitar) on the arrangement of the song. Kasey was given permission to upload this performance to Spotify in it's own right. The concert was not video-taped, due to the venue being very small(around 1,450 seating); the video in this clip was edited from mobile phone footage of the ckncert.
About the only person to interpret the song correctly. 1st part is in the third person "He, His". 2nd bit, where Kasey goes off, is in the 1st person. Great job done by her.
❤ Thank you for your reaction to our indomitable Kasey! This cover is technically outside her wheelhouse of country/folk but Covid lockdowns gave her the time to work on music by other artists she liked and respected…this is one of the results and in my opinion she absolutely killed it! Kasey is an Aussie music megastar and has been for around 30+ years (well prior to this vid), although a very humble one. Kasey was 46 at the time of this concert. Still no response at all from Em/Marshall as to his reaction to Kasey’s cover of his most famous song but I guess the fact that she was allowed to upload to Spotify and monetise her version is something right? Kasey’s Dad is on the slide in this by the way. ❤ The arrangement is phenomenal, the cadence of the original lyrics is kept but much slowed down and Kasey’s vocals carry right through from the intimate start to the full rock out end and let’s face it, who else but Kasey could shred a banjo like she was playing a guitar huh? 😂 Add to… Kasey always, always puts 100%+ into her live performances…this performance was very, very special!! ❤ Tip going forward…always watch Aussie music as live performances they are always much, much better than the studio versions…especially John Farnham and Jimmy Barnes.

This is just a build up to a volcano exploding in your soul ❤❤❤❤ they were times that you saw each other and appeared as you know or felt what the other had .....Banjo shredded ❤❤❤❤
Hi guys, new to your channel so a bit late, you may not see this. Kasey is a contemporary country singer but crosses genres a lot. She's always been a huge Eminem fan and related to this song. During lockdown she did this reworking, she wanted people to hear how brilliant his lyrics are. Once she was touring again, she pulled this out as an encore, everyone was surprised, in the best way. Great reaction.✌❤
Kasey Chambers is an accomplished Australian country singer-songwriter, who has won multiple awards and accolades for her 12 studio albums and her singles releases; Kasey went solo in 1998, after being in the family band(Dead Ringer Band) since the age of 10 (with her father Bill, mother Diane and brother Nash). Depending on who comments, there will be different opinions as to which song s you should react to next; but her 2001 number one hit song Not Pretty Enough(her comment on the reluctance of mainstream radio stations towards playing her music) and her 2017 hit song Ain't No Little Girl(which is meant to answer the question raised by the previous song) is what I would like to recommend you react to next. Like most Australian artists, they are likely unknown to overseas countries. All l can say is, YOU'RE MISSING OUT.
There is no evidence anywhere that he's seen it & what approval did he give? If you're assuming he must have because it's on Spotify - Eminem doesn't hold the copyright to most of his early work, Lose Yourself included. It's held by the Bass brothers through their publishing company Eight Mile Style & the reality is - you don't need permission to upload a cover to Spotify -
How good is this... Ems story telling is even better with it slowed and poignant. I think like johhny cash covering hurt... its now her song. When I first saw it I honestly was hanging on every word... like I hadn't heard it 20 years ago... that's what a wonderful interpretation can do ❤
The Dead ringer Band was the Chambers family Band that broke up about 30 years ago when Bill and Dianne got divorced. Kasey launched her solo career a couple of years later. I first saw Kasey when she was about 18-19 years old as the lead vocalist with Dead Ringers, I was absolutely blown away by her voice and her talent then. She is amazing. Her voice has so many moods and dimensions, but her signature is that little heartbreak ‘catch’ in her voice as she shifts registers. The Archangel of Angst, but a powerful woman with a real gift as as a songwriter - and an interpreter of other lyrics.
If there is one thing I’ve learned in my life time, you do not get one shot but many. It’s what you do with that one shot of those multiple chances….but…. The devil comes in many guises….
Imagine the band rehearsal when she walked in and said, "Guys... I've got this idea." Great reaction.
She'd wanted to do this for some time & lockdown (C-19 lockdown in Australia) gave her the time to work on this. Being mainly family they were all there & here is something special that came from lockdown.

Best cover ever. She made it her own and brought the emotion to Eminem's lyrics. She's a genius.
Kasey Chambers has been a staple of Australian music for ever and is the Queen of Australian music way before she covered this
Her song "ain't no little girl"" is great, especially the official version
My favourite of Kasey's songs
This is one of the best covers I've heard of any song. I think Kasey did justice to this famous song;
About the only person to interpret the song correctly. 1st part is in the third person "He, His". 2nd bit, where Kasey goes off, is in the 1st person. Great job done by her.
She smashed it!
This is such a unique retake of the original absolute top class

Beautiful cover, she was born in my state of Australia ❤
KICK ASS. "Barricades and Brickwalls" is my fave from her.
I love Runaway Train cause it's so rock bluesy with that added country rock feel. Real mix that comes together. Love Barricades.
Not Pretty Enough is the song that made me a fan of Kasey. It was massive in the day on triple J radio
The Captain also.
Saw this live shes amazing
em is a lyrical genius
Most viewerswould appreciate the fact the ?Cat In The Hat” playing Lap Steel, seated on the left side of the stage is her dad

Kasey Mathers
She has heard the song many times before, she is a great Em fan.
Great reaction ❤
Thank you!! 😁
Even Em gave his approval

Fun fact... the guy on the slide guitar is her Dad. :)
You definitely need to hear her song " Ain't no little girl "
Fun fact: The guy on the lap steel is Kasey's dad..The band is the dead ringer band it's her family band.
that is not the dead ringer band.

Watching my man Jesse from Breaking Bad made this even more special. 👊🏼
This has made my day 😂 gave us both a good laugh
@@DoubleTakeJC All love and in jest ✌🏼 Thanks for the reaction and having a laugh ❤️🤙🏼
Reminds me of young Sinead O'Connor.
Why does nobody react to her singing Rattling Bones with Shane Nicholson ????

The funny thing is he grew up in a safe place in Detroit lol I grew up in terrible conditions in Gary Indiana. Eminem is as soft as toilet paper.
Turned a crap rap song into a masterpiece MM should be honnered to turn his shit into a listenable song.
We highly disagree with tit being a crap rap song
