Thanks for the video. I'm curious about what kind of rivets you used to replace the wing rivets. Hucks require a lot of interior work, and I haven't found a pop rivet that looks good. Thanks
Thank you very much! I use a 1/4" blind aluminum rivet that are meant for ford or gm window regulators. Instead of just bulging out on the other side...they actually split into 3 sections and blossom out like a flower on the backside. I have both 1" and 1/2" shank length varieties. I get them from amazon. But even they don't resemble huck rivets all that much.
I'm curious to how many color coats you apply, i usually apply 2 to 3 but it appears you only shoot each color once. The finished product looks as good as any 2 to 3 coat finish out there if in fact one is all you applied. Thanks for your time in reading this and great work you're turning out.
It really all depends on the situation. I try to put down 2 coats...but oftentimes only do one over previously masked stripes so the line between the two isn't too thick. I dont show multiple coats to keep the videos shorter and to keep viewers from getting too bored watching the same thing over and over. Thanks a lot!
Fiberglass all day long. No rivets...No dents... Endlessly fixable... No future chance of hail damage... The fenders wont crack at the edge like Peterbilt fenders do... No corrosion or rust. They weigh a little more...but still well worth it.
@@teams.t.e.a.m6214 I agree. I prefer heavy guage steel butterfly hoods, but those are long gone. Fiberglass is a lot easier to repair IMO. Those old butterfly hoods were nice and cheap if they ever got damaged, but alas, a bygone era.
Just message me through my Flash industrial painting FB page. There is a bit of a waiting list...but the longer a guy waits to get on it...the longer before his or her truck is under our knife. Thanks a lot!
I have had a huck gun for years. its a matter of having enough access to the backside of whatever you are riveting. plus, the 1/4 inch blind rivets I use are sturdy. Ive used them for years and never had a problem.
I really like how you added the extra fin on the side of the sleeper
Hey thanks a lot! The owner wanted something original, so that was what I came up with
Great work. I would’ve chose a different color than brown if I’d been customer
Thanks a lot!
Yes: Was thinking of that myself - Brown - No..!!
Nice job truck looks really nice!! I’m going to tackle that here soon on my 379 😳😬😬🤞🏽
I wish you nothing but the best of luck on your 379 and thanks as well for subscribing!

@@teams.t.e.a.m6214 That makes a lot of sense, especially when using single stage because the build gets thick very fast lol. Thanks again brother.
Random question I had:
Do you prefer trucks with aluminum hoods, steel hoods, or fiberglass hoods?

How much this paint job costs?
depends on the truck as well as the job description. each one is a little different
Hey Ray!! I'd really like to get my truck to you and the boys. Is the wait and process difficult? How may I contact you?

Looks great!
thank you very much!
Man you do nice work looks good could you not take the sleeper off first and then sand blast the frame all the way
we dont remove a sleeper unless we are leaving it off. thanks a lot!
Awesome! What does a paint job like this cost? What kind of paint do you use?
it really just depends on the truck and the criteria. I use either PPG 2K urethane or Nason 2K urethane or Imron 2K urethane
We have never tried the PPG but spray Nason and Imron 2K every day. Thanks for the reply and keep the vids coming@@teams.t.e.a.m6214
you should get a huck gun and do the peterbilt hucks instead of rivits

Do you use single stage paint?
Yep. PPG 2K urethane
