    Clint put on weight when he went to Wash to help him take a pounding & IMO, thats what shortened his career. He is one of my all time favorite Canes ever. []_[]

    The U had a lot of good and great college and pro runningbacks. The U has put out a lot of great talented players. The U was not only Quarterback U, but could also be called Defensive Line U, Runningbacks U, Wide Receivers U, Tightend U Linebackers U, Defensive Backs U. They also produce some great kick returner in Devin Hester, Santana Moss, Daryl Jones, Kevin Williams and Randal Hill. Clinton Portis was a great college and NFL runningback. He should have been a #1 draft pick and if not for the injuries later in his career with the Washington Redskins, he would have been a NFL Hall of Famer. Edgerrin James, Clinton Porter and Willis McGahee did something that no other runningbacks from the same school did in the pros on the same year. All three of them rushed for over 1,000 yards rushing in the same year. I am very glad that Clinton went to the U instead of Florida.

    Hes always been my favorite canes Rb with mcgahee a close second. His cuts and acceleration balance patience etc was so nasty which is why he transitioned into the NFL immediately

    Portis is my favorite Miami runner. What he lacked in top end speed, he made up 100 times over in extreme agility, acceleration, field vision and most importantly, desire. Man played every down like it was his last. His yards after contact are insane, he stretches every play at least 5 more yards minimum.
    He was a HARD player to play against; the greats usually are.

    @boing3887 Its his discipline and basics as a runner, he runs lower than any back you can name, you're right he cant stop on a dime like marshall or burn the entire team like Chris johnson but he's slippery, shifty and his vision sets him apart its his ability to remember what he's been taught in a game instead of throwing it all away like lets say an adrian peterson.

    Had the best first 4 years of yards as anybody in a long time. I was young when he was in his prime but i thought he was gonna compete for the record there did a while. I know he smoked and he was injury prone after a while but CP26 had the best start toward touching Curtis Martin territory In a long time. Had he has the Tenacity of those before him I think he could have been top 5. Great start I wanna say 1350+ in his first 4 seasons

  • @boing3887
    @boing3887 13 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Great upload. I always thought that portis was kinduva weird runner - i could see that he was very very fast, but speed does not a good back make, and i couldn't figure out how he was getting all those yards. he doesn't have the rabbit-like jump-cuts of a barry, or the stop-on-a-dime moves of marshall. i finally figured out that he uses a lot of stutter steps and hesitation moves - but he almost never "jukes" in the normal way that most backs do. what do y'all think?

    Sport is a manifestation of man, thus it is not to be worshiped at the extremes of emotion. Whether it is a positive or negative reaction, it matters not. There is virtually no difference between going to the extremes for sport and going to extremes for something like video games.

    Joe Gibbs messed up his career. Treated him like a power back giving him the ball 400+ times per yr. Too much wear and tear shortened his career. Was still a great back though check his broncos highlights
