      @@Robsreviewsanddemos I have noticed on the 710 there are big peaks around the maybe 45 hz region especially when you have it in bass boost 1 so u need more on bass boost 2 to really get the mid bass punch. Is the 1000 like that too?

      @@steve31785 yes the Bass boost works the same on all JBL's. Bass boost one boosts the lower tones, like you find in hip hop, where Boost 2 boosts the higher freqs for rock music.

    I think the bass is still there, as seen from the camera shaking. I think that over 50% you get more of your "loud" mid to high frequencies being amped up, and their amplitude is just higher than what the drivers can put out for the bass. just as an fyi the bass on the 710 can reach as low as 26hz without much roll off. rtings did a frequency measurement on it. the pd1000 which has a down firing 12in sub can actually do 20hz and even under that but it rolls off quick. jbl always is very conservative with there low frequency ratings. i have a pd110 and it has very rolled off output at 29hz. thats nuts. its very strong at 35hz. but jbl lists 45hz. i used to have a 310 and it had rolled off bass tones as low as 25hz but there rolled off but still there. jbl lists 45hz as well with the 310. real world they go so much deeper. just play some bass tones and keep trying deeper and deeper tones until you cant hear it anymore. i guarantee you will be impressed with what they can actually do. in regards to the highs being pushed forward and bass not increasing to in proportion that is basically any speaker with a dsp. they cut bass at higher volumes to keep bass under control to prevent distortion. jbl just over does it with the treble boost. the increased mids and highs cover up the bass. bass is still the but the mids and highs ruin it. pull back the mids and highs and the sound will balance its self out. i will still get a 710 at some point. i dont plan on using it past 50% anyway.

      @Robsreviewsanddemos  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      No it can't, here's a link to the specs on JBL's website... www.jbl.com/party-speakers/PARTYBOX-710-.html
      35hz is the lowest the710 goes. I believe the 1000 goes to 29 or 30hz. JBL's specifications are solid. I know that because of a certain song I play to test how low the bass goes. Unfortunately I can't play the song on youtube but I use it to test prior to shooting a video. By comparing my LG ok models(45hz) to the JBL models(45hzto 29hz) and my home stereo(20hz), I can kinda gauge how low a speaker goes. The bass in the song I use CAN NOT be heard on my lg's, but can be heard pretty well on the larger jbl's. On my home stereo subs it feels like the house is falling. Check it out it's Childish Gambino "You see me".
      I am very familiar with these speakers and what they're capable of. I love the jbl's at the lower volumes, they have amazing sound and the best bass around. I prefer a speaker to maintain it's sound profile throughout the volume without having to adjust stuff. I have tested many speakers that the bass does not roll off at all. The lg's always sound the same and the Son'y bass stays true through the volume, i'm testing the Soundboks next week and can't wait to see how it does. Keep in mind, this is all just my opinion.

      Also I did a frequency test. I set a test tone at 25hz and played it at about 35% volume. Everything started rattling and I could feel intense sound pressure. So this clearly does 25hz quite well. But I tested 23 hz and it was substantially less but I could still hear actual bass. But when i tried a 22hz tone it was essentially gone. Just driver noise but no actual bass. I am very happy with this thing. I tried 50% power for 3 seconds and I knocked three paintings off the wall. 😭 these walls are not very good with intense bass.

      @@alexlittig7927Yeah man, that's it! A thing that Robs should consider is that in Partybox 710, the 35Hz is rated on -6db; And that doesn't means the end of the response of bass, because the Partybox 710 keeps responding after this frequencie, but how lower the frequencie gets, in lower volume it plays. It's like: 35Hz -6db volume, 34Hz -7db volume, 33Hz -8db volume, etc... But I don't know where the JBL did this test of frequency in the PB710, if it was at a closed place, or in a open space, cause at my bedroom I can get 35Hz at -4db! So it depends a lot of the space that you're putting the speaker too.

    The " problem " with the sound profile on jbls above 50-60% of its volume it's associated to a few things.
    1. Firstly it's relatively small speakers
    Compare it to a small displacement engine in a car with a high compression ratio and a supercharger
    ( Above certain roms they are limited to prevent damage)
    2. They say there is no replacement for a displacement and it rings true here with a smaller speakers .
    3. JBL is protecting their higher end products ( Professional speaker market )
    by limiting their cheaper products both in features and sound
    Other brands may vary..

      It’s not that bad. It all depends what room your in. Outside and in big rooms it’s fine. The 710 is one of the bassiest speakers that size I have ever heard in my life the 1000 is the daddy of the jbls but the 710 still kicks out there’s a difference between the bass rolling off and the speaker getting louder. Your not gonna be able to hear the bass as much. The drivers are still working hard and neither distort to any extent even when hitting very low notes. If your comparing these to an mxT70 from Samsung. You shouldn’t because both even the 310 is more powerful than the t70. I do love the way it looks and all tho 👍🏻

    • @Robsreviewsanddemos
      @Robsreviewsanddemos  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@a..b..9308 The speakers get louder like you said, but not evenly, that completely changes the sound profile. The treble and mids get louder drowning out the bass. Maybe you're just used to jbls and think this is normal, while it's normal for jbl it's not what you look for in a sound system.
      My home theater and my lg's sound the exact same at 10% or 100%, you can still hear the bass no matter the volume. The sound profile stays the exact same.
      The jbl's are the worst for this and the samsungs are bad too. The jbl's get screechy. I've now tested every large jbl model and they all do it. Still nice speakers but they do have this issue.

      @@Robsreviewsanddemos hey. I love your videos and reviews and I am not saying your wrong. However you can not compare a home theatre system to a 1 box party speaker out of the lot of the party speakers jbls bass is untouchable throughout the lineup. If you compare to LG Samsung Sony pioneer party speakers jbls simply sound the best. No matter what party speaker you buy for under a grand it’s either gonna have bass that rolls off or somewhat distort even have a bad balance between bass midrange and treble. So ultimately it’s what you prefer

    • @Robsreviewsanddemos
      @Robsreviewsanddemos  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@a..b..9308Thanks for the compliment and for watching I appreciate it.
      JBL's do have good sound, but I can blast my OK series lg's and they sound perfect, no distortion and no bass roll off. The Larger sony's can also hit 100% volume without rolling off or distorting. I prefer my lg's every time to the jbl's. They don't go as low but they sound great and the profile stays the exact same no matter where the volume is. They also have an on board eq which I love.
      I CAN compare my home theater speakers to party speakers because I can pair 2 PB1000's together and I'm still going to have the roll off issue. My home theater speakers don't do that because my AVR keeps the profile the same through the volume. That's why I always recommend a home stereo over a party speaker every time. Unless you need portability a home stereo is a better buy. It's gonna sound better give you more option on connectibility etc etc.
      As for the roll off, JBL does this for reasons that don't make much sense to me. If they want to protect the woofer, they need to put a better woofer in the unit. On the smaller units I get it, it saves battery life. I actually like the sound profile on the 110 and 310 better than the 710 and 1000. Because they don't roll off as much. The 710 is by far the worst out of all of them, it has killer bass but the mids hurt my ears at 100% and it sounds bad. Like I said, don't get me wrong, the jbl's are nice, but they have their issues. Every brand and speaker has negatives, LG's are ugly, Samsungs have the worst bass, Sony's sound is hard to balance from genre to genre, and jbls roll off the bass making them screechy at higher volumes. They all have their pros as well, Sony's are loaded with features and have great lighting, LG's have the best balanced sound, Samsungs are pretty and fill a room nicely and jbl's are beautiful and have deep bass.
      It comes down to what you prefer. All I can do is give an honest opinion on each unit I test. I'm not like the big channels that never say anything negative about a product. They get everything for free , so if they start giving too much negative info the freebies will stop. I got a couple free units made in China and trashed them on my channel. I haven't received a freebies since, and i'm okay with that. I'm here to give my viewers an honest take on the products I try. Hopefully keeping them from buying something they don't like.

I'm not fond of any speaker that the profile changes on as you turn it up and the jbl's are some of the worst. I want it to have the same frequency balance through the volume. I don't think that's too much to expect for 800 and 1300 dollars respectively.
