Kandima is not a shity resort she just picked the wrong side of the island, ours is just fine with spectacular view. You should choose aqua villas with swirl pool.
Unfortunately you are totally wrong. I’ve been to over 30 different islands in the Maldives and it’s simply not true about access to the sea from an ocean pool villa. I suggest you go to other islands. You are also wrong about the views. You were on one island that had a ocean pool villa over the beach area and not out on a traditional decking. Your information about the Maldives is misleading and wrong. I can tell you haven’t been to other resorts. Please visit Amari Havodda, syiam world, Kagi, milaidhoo, Kudadoo to name a few. All have direct steps into the ocean with the beautiful lagoon. Syiam world even has a slide! If I could post the photos I would. You can check out my room tour for Amari Havodda as an example. It seems that you chooses the wrong hotel and wrong season to visit. The dry season shouldn’t be this cloudy and windy. Also most of water villa has direct access to the ocean, not like the rocky one in your video

Thank you for appreciating my video :) I would say it really depends on what you prefer, my advice would be to only spend couple of nights in luxury villas like ocean pool or honeymoon and the remaining nights in budget friendly villas like Family/Studio beach Villas. In Kandima particularly ocean pool villas are situated by the rough sea, all other villas are on the calm sea side. Hope this answers your question. Happy to clarify anything else. :)

We did speak to the manager about this, it’s not that we picked the wrong side it’s that the wrong side was advertised to us

Sounds of the sea can often put a lot of people to sleep.

Thank you, we went in December which is known to be good season for Maldives! We will try other hotels next time
