i dont understand how he got stuck, he had a peterbilt grill emblem, windshield sticker, and a suicide knob on his steering wheel. unreal that it got stuck
my 50 year old boss didn't think of that in our 2017 F350 work truck. I'm in my 20s and had to point it out when he kept getting stuck in wet grass in "4WD"
You often used to be able to buy Land Rovers cheap , because they were stuck in 4 wheel drive low. Oh ,not worth a lot major repair! It involved 1 Unscrew yellow knob on top of low gear selector rod. 2 Remove spring 3 palce large washer over rod do that it went to the bottom and stopped the spring going through transmission tunnel 4 Re attach yellow knob, drive forward pull back smartly on red 2x 4 selctor lever. Drive away normally!

It probably wasn't snowy at the bottom when he started, like the other fellow said, when I was younger I learned a lot from experience. Taught me to think ahead, among other things. Shucks, I still do stupid things sometimes. It helps me to have some mercy on others when they do stupid things as well.

Back in 1983 or 84 we had a lot of heavy flooding in San Antonio and I had a 1954 Chevy 1500 series 6 cylinder , 6 volt pu and I saw a bunch of vehicles stuck in some deep water at night at a major intersection. One by one I began to pull each one out till I got stuck as my truck fell into a yuge hole , bigger then my fat tires . Well the folks there pleaded with a wrecker truck to assist me and wo money as I had freely pulled a bunch of cars out . That same truck started right up during our San Antonio YUGE snowstorm and I could drive even the steepest and slick roads as long as I had it in the granny gear . I miss that truck . I truly appreciate and enjoy watching yalls show .
Bright yellow is possibly the hardest colour to see next to hot pink and lime green, people need to be more careful which colour they paint their vehicles!

I see you throwing water on your radiator quite a bit. Back when i raced cars i made something. I took a peice of pipe the length of the radiator. Mounted it above the radiator. Drilled holes in it. Used a little fuel pump and a 2 gal tank of water. Pushed a button and sprayed water to cool down. Worked great.

My 25 yr old 80 series Land Cruiser 4.2 lt 6 cyl oil burner is similar, not fast at all, but with 460k km on the clock it still pulled a 14 tonne loaded garbage truck out of a ditch the other day, heaps of torque to go at, just love it 👍🏻🇷🇴🇬🇧🤣
I suspect this was someone else's Cowboy Cadillac and after they wore it out they sold it cheap. Or at least what would've been cheap if things like the four wheel drive worked. Kid bought lead thinking he'd struck gold.

Ed’s right, just turn your hubs. Ford has vacuum lines to the automatic hubs, they crack and leak air, manual hubs just need to locked in. I found out the hard way too..

Hey Matt...a quicker way to cool your radiator would be a "pump up" sprayer...that's what we used to use when I was doing the drag race thing when I was younger. Adjust to a mist and the water is much cooler...

Wouldn't that steel flatbed have somewhat offset the extra engine weight? Those flatbeds are considerably heavier than the sheet metal box the truck probably had from the factory.
That truck had a steel bed, it has weight. But idk about the tires. I have the same truck with the steel bed and the rear weighed in at like 4100lbs and my whole truck is like 9400lbs.

Hey matt, and idea for those water the horse moments. Scap the windshield washer from a junker and hook it up on a switch aimed at the radiator. could let you cool down on the fly.
If that truck has ESOF (Electronic Shift on the Fly) that system uses vacuum to lock in the front hubs. If the seals are gone the hubs won't lock in because of vacuum leaks. However, a person can manually lock the hubs in and they look like manual locking hubs. It could be possible the motor in the transfer case isn't operating to lock in the front drive shaft. That truck looks like an 04' and older with a Dana 50 front axle. Our city just purchased new Ford 1-ton trucks and they all have a manual transfer case and manual locking hubs. Great video!
Drive around D.C. at least once a week. They pull that move and to top it off they flip you the bird for no reason. Hit the horn and it's automatic road rage. I plan on retiring someplace where a traffic jam is considered just two cars ahead of you.
Hey, we have the same vintage Ford pickup. kid said it was like that when he bought it...check the hubs they have a tendency to get stuck or leak if they are the auto locking. Probably need to replace the hubs. Great job getting him out!
Couple things; firstly this is prolly the first video I’ve seen where there’s this many rude comments. Yes I can tell which are jokes and which ones are seriously rude. All said an done, please knock it off. Keep this family friendly. There’s no need to bother bad-mouthing or being a jerk on this video or any others by MORR. So this guy went out with a broke foot. 🤷 okay. He had someone with him. If he’s a local he prolly knows how to do a thing or two to stay alive if it came to that; he knows the area, he knows if it’s a used road or not. Plus if he’s been up there before he knows if he’ll have service or not to make a call. So the 4x4 didn’t work. Okay and he doesn’t know why it doesn’t work....okay and? He’s proud of what he has and he wanted to have some fun. Like I said he wasn’t alone so if something bad happened there’s another person. My truck came back from the shop and the hi beams don’t work...I don’t know what the issue is cause I hate electrical so I haven’t fixed it yet....doesn’t mean I don’t drive in the dark. Basically just keep it polite here would ya please. Let him have some fun. It’s embarrassing to have to be pulled out but cut him some slack. Maybe he just wanted to see what his truck could do in the state it was in without 4x4? Either way no need to bash him as much has been had in these comments.
I respect how you always have a member of your team in the driver seat of the vehicles you are helping who are stranded. I will say Lizzie has a sweet job being able to drive different kinds of vehicles that would be fun for sure
Part of that is for insurance reasons. If anything were to happen, the company's liability, health, worker's comp, etc are much more likely to cover it if an employee was driving the second vehicle than otherwise.
I believe now Matt has them pay a "call-out" fee before they set out, people have done that as well as pulled swifties to avoid paying either the full fee or the call-out fee.
I thought up here in Canada we where the only ones that had drivers cutting us off and not using their turning signals. Guess not! All the best really enjoy your reality videos, Matt.

All 4 of the Super Duties that I've owned say Auto or Lock.

As I'm sitting outside in shorts as it continues to snow. Get called crazy daily for wearing shorts in the winter. High today was 22°f, low 3. So not miserable. Still warm while im working.
Hey Matt...a quicker way to cool your radiator would be a "pump up" sprayer...that's what we used to use when I was doing the drag race thing when I was younger. Adjust to a mist and the water is much cooler...

true that... heavier than a gas.... I have a 2wd diesel chevy colorado but in the winter I throw some weight in the back and never have a problem... i also run snow tires
Wouldn't that steel flatbed have somewhat offset the extra engine weight? Those flatbeds are considerably heavier than the sheet metal box the truck probably had from the factory.
That truck had a steel bed, it has weight. But idk about the tires. I have the same truck with the steel bed and the rear weighed in at like 4100lbs and my whole truck is like 9400lbs.

If that truck has ESOF (Electronic Shift on the Fly) that system uses vacuum to lock in the front hubs. If the seals are gone the hubs won't lock in because of vacuum leaks. However, a person can manually lock the hubs in and they look like manual locking hubs. It could be possible the motor in the transfer case isn't operating to lock in the front drive shaft. That truck looks like an 04' and older with a Dana 50 front axle. Our city just purchased new Ford 1-ton trucks and they all have a manual transfer case and manual locking hubs. Great video!

Hey, we have the same vintage Ford pickup. kid said it was like that when he bought it...check the hubs they have a tendency to get stuck or leak if they are the auto locking. Probably need to replace the hubs. Great job getting him out!

Couple things; firstly this is prolly the first video I’ve seen where there’s this many rude comments. Yes I can tell which are jokes and which ones are seriously rude. All said an done, please knock it off. Keep this family friendly. There’s no need to bother bad-mouthing or being a jerk on this video or any others by MORR.
So this guy went out with a broke foot. 🤷 okay. He had someone with him. If he’s a local he prolly knows how to do a thing or two to stay alive if it came to that; he knows the area, he knows if it’s a used road or not. Plus if he’s been up there before he knows if he’ll have service or not to make a call.
So the 4x4 didn’t work. Okay and he doesn’t know why it doesn’t work....okay and? He’s proud of what he has and he wanted to have some fun. Like I said he wasn’t alone so if something bad happened there’s another person. My truck came back from the shop and the hi beams don’t work...I don’t know what the issue is cause I hate electrical so I haven’t fixed it yet....doesn’t mean I don’t drive in the dark.
Basically just keep it polite here would ya please. Let him have some fun. It’s embarrassing to have to be pulled out but cut him some slack. Maybe he just wanted to see what his truck could do in the state it was in without 4x4? Either way no need to bash him as much has been had in these comments.

I respect how you always have a member of your team in the driver seat of the vehicles you are helping who are stranded.
I will say Lizzie has a sweet job being able to drive different kinds of vehicles that would be fun for sure
Part of that is for insurance reasons. If anything were to happen, the company's liability, health, worker's comp, etc are much more likely to cover it if an employee was driving the second vehicle than otherwise.

Do you require payment before you arrive to avoid “local yokels” pulling out your customer and avoiding a tow fee?
I believe now Matt has them pay a "call-out" fee before they set out, people have done that as well as pulled swifties to avoid paying either the full fee or the call-out fee.
