Timothy Holland well Timothy, Steve is wearing yellow black and maroon so he is a sweet corn flavored Kit Kat, and And Larson is sporting grey and black so he is WCW circa 1999.
To correct you on Flair and the Big Gold Belt. That belt was introduced in the JCP Era as the replacement for the Old/Current NWA Title. When Flair bailed to WWF in 1991, he was stripped of the title and would eventually be returned to WCW and rebranded as the WCW International World Heavyweight Title from 1993 to 1994. While WCW waited to get the BGB back from Flair, and since WCW was splitting away from the NWA during this time, it created a WCW World Heavyweight Title Belt and a match was held between the Number 1 and Number 2 Contenders (Lex Luger and Barry Windham, respectively) to determine the champion. That belt would be unified with the BGB in 1994, marking the end of its run.
this ppv had a little of everything. the freebird, The Body on commentary, confused Sting, anticipation for Flyin Brian to pull out a gun! You should pick the next show at the end each time i'm gonna get a jump on next weeks syllabus.
I quite like this new series, gets me watching old ppvs that I've never watched before, all whilst eagerly awaiting seeing your review afterwards. Keep up the good works guys!
Jake Roberts, Rick Rude, and a host of wrestlers had runs in the old territories, specifically Jim CrockettPromotions long before their WWF runs ,Steve.
this ppv was so cool for it's time just simple also wish the commentating setup they used was used today like the 3 stages they had with tony and bruno to missy and teddy in the back and jesse and jim at ringside and the wrestling was still this way very entertaining
OSW Review and the New Generation Project Podcast have also done takes on Barely Legal '97, so it might be interesting to compare and contrast your opinions of the show with theirs.
Retro reviews show name suggestion: "Retro Wrestling Review Spectacular With the Groovy Mules Steve and Larson: The Grandeur Episodic Adventures of Pro Wrestling From A Bygone Era"
Steve and Larson...I just watched episode nitro 157. You guys gotta watch the "match" segment of Scott Hall vs Luger. Hall is VERY wasted. I can't believe they put that on TV!
Also have to note that Steve Austin was fairly new at this point. starting in 89 still only 3 years in the business. Stone cold was 4 years later with a lot more experience
Barley Legal 97 was the very first ecw ppv and is rather good and contains the worst ever rvd match on ecw ppv you should watch either living dangerously 99 or hardcore heaven 99 both are outstanding and contain the first two times that rvd and Jerry Lynn faced each other, as fans of the great sport of pro wrestling you owe it to yourselvesto watch these two shows for those two match"s alone. Keep up the good work.
Steve and Larson I humbly submit; Review, Revisit, relive, regret? with Steve and Larson. that's R4 or four fingers with a big? The shirts would look awesome.
Some name suggestions: Going In the Past Going In Raw: Retro Review Going In the Vaults Going In Raw: Rearview more to come. Send the cheque in the mail lol
You guys haven't heard of a coal miner's glove match? How about Hacksaw Jim Duggan vs Ted DiBiase's 1985 Midsouth Wrestling Coal Miner's Glove Steel Cage Tuxedo Loser Leaves Town Match.... That's a real thing.
Hmm (in Dusty Rhodes voice) Let's see here...hmm, Lethal Lottery... let's put Dr Death Steve Williams and Steve What's his name again? Steve Williams on a team. The fans won't know, but the boys will be laughing it up backstage baby.
i know you guys joke about a WWE writer taking ideas from your channel, but it really happens. i wrote a comment about what they should do with titus and apollo, and they are doing my idea up to the way titus wins squashes. someone look into this.
Really enjoy your content but there's a lot of moments especially in these retrospective videos where it's clear you both really don't know all that much about wrestling outside of WWE, arguably inside it as well. How is this your full time gig?
MrDinghus Like I said I enjoy a fair amount of their content, and don’t watch much current WWE, but I’m glad I’m not the only one with this line of thinking.
Steve,
I was the one that suggested Going in Review. I'll take a years supply of Del Taco please. haha
+David Edwards you got it!!!
Steve and Larson's Going In Raw WONDERFUL YESSSSS
James Woody seriously one of the West cost's best kept secret.
what bar is Steve and Larson? oh wait wrong web show. lol.
Timothy Holland well Timothy, Steve is wearing yellow black and maroon so he is a sweet corn flavored Kit Kat, and And Larson is sporting grey and black so he is WCW circa 1999.
Going Back Raw is so obviously the best name - it gets across the point of the show while keeping the double entendre intact
Great profile pic, I thought it was Cappy from Executive Decision. Same actor though.

Going in Raw: Hits from the vault
this ppv had a little of everything. the freebird, The Body on commentary, confused Sting, anticipation for Flyin Brian to pull out a gun! You should pick the next show at the end each time i'm gonna get a jump on next weeks syllabus.

"Maybe he was taking a nap in the back, you know... I'd think you'd have to be upright for your perm to stay right..." hilarious!
Steve's range and skill at impressions never ceases to amaze
the Miner's Glove was used a TON in the old PORTLAND (Oregon) Wrestling!!!!
SUB GUM it's a super common 80s stipulation. I'm honestly surprised these boys didn't know it.
Jake Roberts, Rick Rude, and a host of wrestlers had runs in the old territories, specifically Jim CrockettPromotions long before their WWF runs ,Steve.
Yea he clearly doesn't do his research on certain things.
part 10 of my saturday steve here and Larson thank you gentlemen
Going in Raw-wind
so Steve Williams teamed with Steve Williams (Austins real name).
Watching this in 2021, wow what a different time this was.
you guys need to review retro ppvs with your commentary dubbed over the shows
And my favourite royal rumble in 1998.. It had the best roster I've ever known
this ppv was so cool for it's time just simple also wish the commentating setup they used was used today like the 3 stages they had with tony and bruno to missy and teddy in the back and jesse and jim at ringside and the wrestling was still this way very entertaining
OSW Review and the New Generation Project Podcast have also done takes on Barely Legal '97, so it might be interesting to compare and contrast your opinions of the show with theirs.
@steveandlarson Can you announce future reviews so that we can pre-watch if necessary and be on the same page as you.
Jesus Roman They did buddy, last couple of videos they mentioned it & I'm pretty sure they sent out a tweet.
Michael White oops my bad!!
Jesus Roman In case you missed it, next one is ECW Barely Legal 97!
It's great from what I remember, enjoy
+Jesus Roman up til now we've announced on our twitter @realgoinginraw but yeah going forward we'll also announce at the end of the videos!
Whoops sorry man. I was positive they'd mentioned it in videos......I must just read their tweets in their voices.
Retro reviews show name suggestion:
"Retro Wrestling Review Spectacular With the Groovy Mules Steve and Larson: The Grandeur Episodic Adventures of Pro Wrestling From A Bygone Era"
Lmao the Steve Austin impression
I really, really wanna buy that "Not Gonna Happen" shirt from Larson. When is it going up on ProWrestlingTees?
Took me nearly 20minutes to realise Larson wasn't drinking straight Jack Daniels
Steve and Larson...I just watched episode nitro 157. You guys gotta watch the "match" segment of Scott Hall vs Luger. Hall is VERY wasted. I can't believe they put that on TV!
Have to do great american bash 91. The first ppv without flair who took the belt to wwf, a tag team scaffold flag match and PN NEWS.
was kinda hoping when I saw my notifications that it was the 1998 Halloween havoc
Edward Blangsted same!!!! I love 98 havoc it was first ever wcw ppv I ever saw and got on VHS. To which this day I still watch
TheRaven361 I haven't watched havoc 98 I just know it's infamous for having the Hogan v warrior rematch and the main event that never aired
16:25 mask on, fuck it, mask off
going in retro
it's no worse than Going In Review/RAWview
Going Back Raw is the obvious choice
Bill Montgomery 😒😒😒😒
Dplph Zigglers career would have been more successful and totally different if his name wasn't Dolph Ziggler
timothy dollman He had a different name, he was a part of the Spirit Squad
He went by his first name
What name would you suggest for him? Dolph Ziggler is unique, but I do understand why people hate it.
Versace Pancakes Not sure. How about "the hooligan" Wayne Duker?
Ziggler sounds silly
Going Back Raw.
Did I win? I should win. K, I'm the winner. Nobody else play. Contest over. Me 1, everybody else 0. I am the super bestest of the best.
Cringe
How did you guys not know that Barely Legal '97 is ECW's first ever PPV? Lol.
It be awesome if you did these reviews with your voice over the actually event
Also have to note that Steve Austin was fairly new at this point. starting in 89 still only 3 years in the business. Stone cold was 4 years later with a lot more experience
for these videos you need to make a new intro with a super edit of old WWE promos of people saying "Going in Raw"
I've never seen Steve and Larson and the World Famous Flea Market guys in the same place. Hmm...
Could you do mania 6 and summerslam 92 Wembley .. and any events with new Jack on!!!
Steve and Larson I humbly submit; Review, Revisit, relive, regret? with Steve and Larson. that's R4 or four fingers with a big? The shirts would look awesome.
Isn't A.J.'s ooshy-gamooshy a neck breaker?
I don't think the Tap out was in wrestling until the mid 90's.
Actually, it's even scarier, Steve, Jake was 37. So yeah, younger than us (apparently I'm 2 months older than Steve).
any wrestling in the early 90s is weird
Should just name the show "Going In" and then add the name of whatever the show is focused on.
Some name suggestions:
Going In the Past
Going In Raw: Retro Review
Going In the Vaults
Going In Raw: Rearview
more to come.
Send the cheque in the mail lol
Book of the match.
I'm beginning to get the feeling that Steve barely even watches these shows. Larson has everything down pat it seems. Get it together, Steve!!!
You guys haven't heard of a coal miner's glove match? How about Hacksaw Jim Duggan vs Ted DiBiase's 1985 Midsouth Wrestling Coal Miner's Glove Steel Cage Tuxedo Loser Leaves Town Match....
That's a real thing.

In this edition of stuff these guys don't know about wrestling history.....
"Vaulting In Raw"
Jake Roberts was having drug problems in 92 which is why he had to leave the WWE after jobbing to the undertaker at WM8.
i know you guys joke about a WWE writer taking ideas from your channel, but it really happens. i wrote a comment about what they should do with titus and apollo, and they are doing my idea up to the way titus wins squashes. someone look into this.
WOW STEVE SOUNDS DOES A REALLY GOOD JESSE
You guys need a lesson in wcw history and how things went bad there. Also, Roberts was a southern wrestler long before the wwf.
do Heroes of Wrestling review.....
2 world title, u.s. title, and the tag titles, but sting and jake was the main.
Anyone else think Steve forgets a lot of stuff?
Klondike Bill made the wheel
2-Sweet Friendos!
I have a question for everyone, "What was the time period when Professional Wrestling was its peak for you?"
Rude was a nwa guy from the 80s
Really enjoy your content but there's a lot of moments especially in these retrospective videos where it's clear you both really don't know all that much about wrestling outside of WWE, arguably inside it as well. How is this your full time gig?
lmao
MrDinghus Like I said I enjoy a fair amount of their content, and don’t watch much current WWE, but I’m glad I’m not the only one with this line of thinking.
EXTREME!!! CHAMPIONSHIP. WRESTLING?
