No one can replace Pavoratti, but in my opinion Andrea comes the closest for my generation. Just a phenomenal talent as a tenor. There's obvious differences. Pav was all about power and emotion. Andrea is about smoothness and finesse. But he's arguably the best pure tenor to reach these heights of success of the past 30 years.

Right? There's some German and Russian folk music I occasionally give a listen to. It's amazing, despite that I'm at a loss for what's being said. But it's amazing, and the rhythm is on point. There really is a lot more to music than lyrics, I think some people mistakenly close themselves off from experiencing what's out there music-wise because "oh I can't understand it", and it's unfortunate.

My grandmother played this as well. I didn’t appreciate the beauty of this song until I found a passion for singing myself. I just found this song after almost 15 years since i last heard it. My grandma is now in a nursing home, I’m going to play it for her when i see her again.
My grandmother also played this song to me when I was a kid. I was 9 when I first heard this. I loved this song and Andrea's voice then, and 26 years later I still love it. It's one of those songs that has memories attatched to it, and it gives me tears every time I hear it for that reason.

Whenever I listen to this song, I look up at the night sky and wonder what is up there.
No one can replace Pavoratti, but in my opinion Andrea comes the closest for my generation. Just a phenomenal talent as a tenor. There's obvious differences. Pav was all about power and emotion. Andrea is about smoothness and finesse. But he's arguably the best pure tenor to reach these heights of success of the past 30 years.

When I wrote this song, I always imagined that it would be sung by the greatest tenor on earth, Pavarotti. He gave it a hard pass. Said it was, “too black sounding” for him. As Bocelli doesn’t see color, he was fine with it. I’m so happy that folks can unwind to this after a hard day’s work. It’s got that “Thank God, I’m a country boy!” vibe.

I used to live in an abusive environment. However, my mom and I are living better now. I remember singing along as well. Now I am living this precious memory with its song.

Right? There's some German and Russian folk music I occasionally give a listen to. It's amazing, despite that I'm at a loss for what's being said. But it's amazing, and the rhythm is on point. There really is a lot more to music than lyrics, I think some people mistakenly close themselves off from experiencing what's out there music-wise because "oh I can't understand it", and it's unfortunate.
