Cheers Cry, it's always an honour to be featured in one of your LPs. c: Hope everyone enjoyed this little holiday special & are having a good start to the new year!
***** No it isn't. A Bird Story is the game showing the story of the new patient (or some of it) and is what bridges To The Moon and To The Moon II together.
To everyone asking about the diary, I went back and played through for you guys. :3 And the diary reads: "Dear Diary, Today, I was watering my plant, and I thought, 'hey, it's actually been a very pleasant week.' 15 minutes later, Neil pranked me and splashed water all over my head with a bucket on his door. I'm going to get him back. Maybe not today, maybe not tomorrow. But someday. And it's going to be with the vengeance and fury of a thousand suns. -EvaR" And to which Neil responds with "On second thought, maybe I'll just leave it..."
I like how the company is called "SigCorp" or "SigmundCorp," most likely after Sigmund Freud, the man who first pioneered the idea that the true self lies deep within the unconscious mind, primarily in dreams.
I like how Eva and Neil do actually have feelings for each other. Like how Eva answered a bit quickly when saying she didn't like Neil (I think she might), or Neil trying to cheer her up, even delaying the game to add the ending he was talking about to his game. It's really cute.
munmunniemunmun Oh they do, it's kinda clear that they do, but I doubt he's going to die. If he dies then the job can't be done properly. Plus it wouldn't be that good for the game cause if he lives they can make more.
I'm conflicted on them, tbh. I like their relationship as long-time friends/work partners the way it is (not everything has to end in romance)... But also, that could be interesting in a way. Idk!
Whatever happens, let's all take a moment to appreciate: Eva may be more tsundere than a cactus, but the internet (and I) knows that they're totally star cross lovers
Cry! That was the bunny constellation that River pointed out to John in the first game when they were young and looking at the stars! And she said that the moon was like its belly. Neil recreated that into the game. I feel so good remembering that.
hahaha I kinda of sounded like Crazy Steve from Drake and Josh. Like in the episode when no one had power so they stayed at Drake and Josh's house. Then Eric and Craig had a crank up tv, and Crazy Steve was watching Dora the Explore xD
it would suck if... at the last episode... Eva had to use the machine to Neil because.. Neil had an illness and he has a few days to live... and then Eva had to grant his wish and that is to be able to ****. So Eva tried to fulfill it and in the end. Eva watches the sunset as she cries for the loss of his best partner and the one she loved. Well I just made it up... ahaha xD
Has anyone noticed how there was tense music during the time Neil was "thinking"? Right after the puse, his texts were noticeably faster, as if he was hurrying because of 'something'. And something tells me that it wasn't to finish the game. If a Christmas special is dark enough to hold the bitter truth that not everyone accepts their business as right, I wouldn't be surprised if they hinted about Neil's secret condition.
Yo, I know this comment is six years old, but just in case someone will come back and see this, there's a "secret" scene in this minisode that I haven't seen anyone play through (or even comment about) that confirms this suspicion. After Eva gets hung up by Neil and Roxanne appears, you can go back up the elevator and check Neil's office. You'll find... something. Go check it out if you haven't!
Hey Cry.... It was about a year ago that I finished watching your playthrough of To The Moon. That playthrough... it changed my life. For the better. It helped me to get out of one of the worst relationships of my life, as well as helping me come to the decision to get out and keeping my spirits buoyant all the while. I'm really grateful you chose to play To The Moon, and that you chose to share it with all of us. This minisode has been a nostalgic reminder of that time, about a year ago, when you helped me figure out what love really is. Thank you.
To the moon was the first game that made me cry, and made me as sad as when I finished the walking dead, but in a strangely happy way. The music and storyline were incredible. Thank you Kan for creating such an emotionally invocative piece of art, and thank you to Cry for making the story really come alive. I highly enjoy these videos, big thumbs up.
I'm glad, that the To The Moon series haven't ended, i'm really looking forward to the sequel. I don't know why, but I felt teary during the whole playthrough, just made me remember those beautiful moments, from the first one. Just, fantastic :')
Gha I got a lot of feels. ~sigh~ That ending and seeing that there is people against what they do. Also seeing the other people they work with. Kind of gives you a bigger glimpse into the world they live in. Thank you for playing this minisode and the first game Cry. Its a beautiful game series that I have really enjoyed watching =) Here's to the next game!
Dayum, it was just few hours back that I commented on the need of seeing you play this, mate! Thanks, Cry :-) Btw, If it wasn't for you mate, I wouldn't find myself a hobby of doing let's plays :-) Best regards from Poland! :-) Cheers!
Would people really protest against a machine that will grant a dying persons last wish by altering their memories? Well I guess people would. This is why we cant have nice things.
I clicked this video, excited to watch something new to tide us over till the next playthrough, but after watching the trailer for the first game on Steam, I'm actually gonna try and play the first game first before watching this. The concept of story is incredibly riveting and has the potential to really strike a chord with people (i.e: punch us in the feels organ repeatedly until we're a puddle of tears) It might be hard for me to get the first game since that one obviously isn't free, but man, it seems like it'd be worth it.
BackwardsNoodle that's because he has. It was an old lets play over a year ago. Its my favorite lp that he did (and it may or may not be because of his sobbing in the background haha)
I believe the protests are happening because no one else knows what they've changed. Also it can change someone into a completely different person depending on which memories they alter. Also the altered memories mean that the patient's memories of they're actual life are gone and replaced with artificial memories. Meaning they may be completely different people. So yeah i can understand why se people may protest. And if you're wondering how it could be misused watch Total Recall(either one)
AWWWW MAN WHEN ROSALENE WAS LIKE "COME OVER HERE NEIL" I WAS SHIPPING THEM SOOOO HARD ESPECIALLY AFTER SHE MENTIONED A SEPARATE PERSONAL AND PROFESSIONAL LIFE WAAAAAAAHHH
I really love the music in this game. I started smiling as soon Neil was on the screen and the 'funny' music started playing. It was a cute minisode, and I'm REALLY looking forward to the sequel!
Oh my God... To The Moon is one of my favorite playthroughs. Cry's emotions were just as heart wrenching as the story itself. It's a beautiful game, and a definite must-see. PewDiePie's playthrough of the same game is just as touching at the end. So happy to see extensions!
I seriously love "To the Moon." The developer of that game is amazing. I recently played "The Mirror Lied" and I loved it. I just love the style of game and everything, ya know? :3 I hope to buy myself the music boxes from the "To the Moon" soundtrack soon. Because those are freaking amazing.
***** ***** TheIlikecookies123 NoBiscuitForYou Wait confused, the Freebird Games website says the game is coming out in Sept. of 2020 but I checked ign and it says November of 2014? Do I trust the freebird games website?
My god thank you Cry! this is one of the top 5 games I love to watch you play up with Fragile Dreams! Hope you had a great Christmas, Cheers, your friend, Skyvoice
This is just... wonderful... in every way. Honestly, I couldn't stop smiling throughout it. The beautiful music, the brilliant chemistry between Neil and Eva, and the fantastic nostalgic nod to the original game.... Kan Gao, you truly are an amazing individual. Thank you so much for creating something so lovely, and Cry, thank you so much for playing this. I would never have discovered this as well as the original without you. :)
Thanks for playing this Cry. :') Also Kan, thanks for making good emotional games. :D I think out of all the RPG Maker type games I've played, yours are my favourite. :) (discluding games like turn based fighting games, those are all gameplay, yours are mostly story (thankfully good stories :D ) ). Happy new year everyone. :D
This has always been my favorite LP you've ever uploaded. As soon as this started up, I immediately got that feeling in my chest like I had just gone through some emotional shit. Love ya, man!
Thankyou Cry for doing these lets plays for us. 2013 was a good year for us thanks to you, and I feel like we don't thank you enough. So here it is man. Thanks for all.x
My guess is that the patient in critical condition is the boy that will be the star of the next game. If you don't know what I mean, in the next game, A Bird Story, it's about a boy who goes in and out of imagination and reality. It takes place in the same universe, but before these two were even born. He grows up and becomes the next patient in episode two of To The Moon. So I'm guessing that they got a call that was about him, and the next game shows his story, then after that they Do their thing and make him happy. Damnit I'm good!!
Oh, and it's not the spaceship Cry, or a bear. It's the bunny constellation that River and John found when they first met at the carnival! Where the moon is the bunny's tummy! :D
When they do come out with a sequel, I know I'm coming right to Cry for the play through.. I couldn't contain myself when Cry started crying during the To the Moon playthrough. Whoever didn't watch his playthrough should really consider it. His emotions throughout the entire playthrough was genuine.
it's been over 2 years since the first part of to the moon and i still get feels over it. but this minisode just like. i have exploded. the damn nostalgia though
Man, this is such a good game. Almost wish it was a show...almost. But then I'm afraid it might lose the magic and heart that makes To the Moon so great. I honestly can't get enough of it.
This time, I would actually buy the game, THEN I'll watch your playthroughs. It's best to experience the game first, cry by yourself, and see other people cry afterwards :D

Really nice nostalgia trip. To the Moon was a really good game. Might go back and rewatch you play it before school starts back up. Can't wait for the sequel~
Thanks so much Cry for letting me know in the beginning that I should watch the play through first before this. I wasn't sure if I had to but I will get on your playthrough of the game right now.
I fell asleep watching the first video in this playlist.. When I woke up, the videos were still playing and I woke up to his voice. I had a solid minute of confusion and so did my body .-.
I just watched the full playthrough of Cry's To the Moon because I saw this come out and oh my lord. The difference in pitch of his voice from two years ago until now. Damn son.
Humans... We are insufferable, limitless creatures, bound by our own sovereignty. Sealed by a cage that we fashion, Waiting for tommorow's breadth to awaken nothing. Nothing, we see, but our imagination, and a hole which we fill in days, the cheapness that we hold in our hearts, is judged everlasting, and fleeting in the moment. humans... what a fairy tale we are, when dreams make us happy, and the false are true. yet when one of us considers our virtue, our value, our real place, we are mocked by ourselves, for that cheap, cheap substance that we dare call... Reality.

I've never said this about a game before but they should make an anime of To The Moon. The storytelling is amazing.
It would be pretty short, like 13 episodes, but if done well, it would be totally worth it.
Keagan Miller
More like one OVA. One and half hour :D
yeah, that might work
this comment is from three years ago, but lemme tell you: they are!!
I would read a book on it no doubt, I would love to have all the details, emotions, and expressions described through words.

Well... Eva wasn't in the bathroom... But Seiko was!
Too soon? Eh-I didn't like her anyway.
No
Ah! I dont know whether to laugh at that or shake my head......
Eh, I never really liked Seiko--I felt that the writers just seemed to be trying a bit too hard with her; same goes for Yuka.
maybe.....but I know people who act just like her so I can't say she isn't realistic.
talknerdytome sevens Perhaps not so much her behaviour--more how hard the writers were obviously trying to make her sympathetic; the way they sort of seemed to "angel-icise" her--portray her as some sort of "pure sacrifice"--some sort of Albatross for Naomi (and for the player as well).
I guess (the way I saw it) the whole time she really only served as motivation for Naomi; not so much as a strong, dynamic character in her own right.
Damn son.
I really hope the next expansion/game comes out really soon! Love his work with the stories! :) I actually cried in the end of to the moon.
I almost started crying when I spotted River..I didn't realize how much I missed her sweetness.
Your voice fits perfectly for every character you read for, even though it's the same voice for every character. I Love it!
Humans...
We are insufferable, limitless creatures, bound by our own sovereignty.
Sealed by a cage that we fashion,
Waiting for tommorow's breadth to awaken nothing.
Nothing, we see, but our imagination,
and a hole which we fill in days,
the cheapness that we hold in our hearts,
is judged everlasting,
and fleeting in the moment.
humans...
what a fairy tale we are, when dreams make us happy,
and the false are true.
yet when one of us considers our virtue,
our value,
our real place,
we are mocked by ourselves,
for that cheap, cheap substance that we dare call...
Reality.
Gaaaoooooo...
Hole shit that was deep.
I'm just sitting here comparing Cry's voice from the play-through to now. Ah, such feels and chills.
You know, just listening to the music this game makes me tear up. It's too damn beautiful
Finally time to watch this. I just went through the entire Cry Plays: To The Moon series.
Like many others I'm excited if there is indeed, a sequel to this series. Keep up the good work cry!
