- Every Prerunner build starts somewhere and generally it's with a Ford Ranger. We meet up with our buddy Matt and check out his 1997 Ford Ranger. It is still leaf-sprung but he's still sending it.

I wonder if anyone has ever done a 3/4 leaf spring set up on one of these ? I drove a Jeep Wrangler YJ that was set up like that . And that thing had wheel travel for days .

Cameron Thornburg Try any shop local to you. I go to btf fab or Kdm fab. When I visit my cousins in Atascadero, I go to dirt designs or coastal fabwerx. Just have to know a shop that trust.
Rudy Lopez it’s strange.I know of dirt designs and coastal fab werx. I’ve tried to contact them to get started on planning my build. I’ve got around 40k to start with. If someone would contact me from one of the local shops around pismo that would get things started. I’m buying a 1997 f250 powerstroke extra cab in sweet condition!

Hey bro I’m pretty local to Fullerton and have had desolate Motorsports do some work on one of my previous trucks. I have a channel based around my 7.3 powerstroke. Not an off road prerunner style build but if you would be down to collab we should meet up! I should be getting it back from the shop any day now with a 14” lift and 40 inch tires🤘🏻 let me know!
