the dying and mutating is a reference to the crimson heads. in the games when a human zombie's head is not destroyed or if the body is not burned away they will mutate and come back alive as a crimson head.
Long time RE fan here ( 20+ years) and I can confirm that the first game indeed came out in 1998 for the original Play Station. I'd say for the full experience, with all the cheesiness, it is worth to start to play through the original trilogy. Although if you start with the remakes - RE 1 has been remade couple of years ago - you will just be fine lore wise. :) The mutations and monsters featured in this scenario are all in the game's universe. Up to this day RE 2 is one of the most loved entry among fans and basically that game turned the otherwise one shot zombie horror into a franchise we know today. Original story line: RE 0 -> RE: Code Veronica (RE 0 was created after RE 4 but that story is the first in order) New direction: RE 4 - RE 6 (personally I do not like them as through this time it turned more and more into COD shooter with an RE skin with basically no serious story line) There are also 2 side games for handheld console: RE Revelations 1 & 2 - again extra lore although the 2nd one is significantly better. Back to the roots: RE 7 - no tight relation to the original games but loads of Easter eggs also that was the first game that used Capcom's newly built RE engine. And we arrived to RE 2 remake what turned out absolutely BRILLIANT and awesome! :D There are a few side stories such as various arcade shooters, co-op attempts but those can be skipped. Also the games have been turned into novels by S.D.Perry, I have read the first three so far: again really good adaptation and lots of extra back story. And I could write tons more about the games but I'll stop here. :D The RE live action movies basically have nothing (or veeeeeeeeery little) to do with the games, personally I cannot stand them. TL;DR: It is worth to jump into it but be prepared of 20 years worth of lore.

You forgot the Outbreak series. Those were pretty good too. Unless you count them in the original story as well.
@ you are right, my bad. Thank you for pointing it out. :) Yes, Outbreak File 1&2 were way ahead of their time. Also the director of the scenarios was Allison Court, the original voice actress for Claire Redfield. :)

@@PrincessZombear No problem. Always happy to help a fellow fan out.
the original came out in 1996 actually but it was never stated in the game what year it was so when the sequel relased in 98 it stated that the events of the first game happened two months ago
Resident Evil is a very story-aligned game. You will most likely have to start at the first and go through every single title in the canon(basically all of it). Can be very confusing to begin with but if you do put in the time to do it, you will see a lot of the hidden references and ties to the original series in RE 7. Overall? Worth it if you’re into lore-based types of things where knowing things is fun and amusing when playing new games.
Hey Pravus. You asked about re fans so I instantly came down here to comment! lol I played all the games to-date but i'm kinda sucky t them xD i like going slow finding easter eggs, details, pieces of lore... There so much info on this franchise. As to whether or not you should get into the franchise I'd say if you enjoy survival horrors with this zombies/crazy scientists themes you should.
I absolutely LOVE the Resident Evil games, even Resi 6(even though there's a lot of hate on it)... I'm just a die-hard fan of the series 😂😂😂 Edit: 9:40 That would be the actual Bay of Pigs invasion, Pravus 😂😂😂
As a long term fan of Resi, the two remakes, 4,5 and 7 are all definitely worth a bash. Then go back and play 3 if you're not opposed to everything looking like a minecraft mod.
Can you plz play the calamity scenario on plague inc and also its my 1st ever build so it will have some misspelling and uneven gameplay sortof also tell me how to make it more ballenced also btw its made by deathwatcherxx Oh yeah and totaly no secret ending by getting all effects wich i havent gotten to yet so i dont know if it works but i think i will so i hope you enjoyyyyyy.

Hi Pravus, could you please play 'Finding Paradise' it's the sequel to 'To The Moon' which is quite possibly the best game you ever played on this channel. Thanks!
Hey random question not related to this game but are you gonna go back to hoi4 old world blues? I enjoyed the whole series and just want to know if your gonna continue it
I played all of them 1_4 are worth playing i loved them and are great games though 5 and 6 fell into more of a action orrinted game not being as horror like and honestly felt lower qualty to me and it picked up back in 7. but in all its a great game series. Thank you for the video have a nice day.
I first played RE 4, which is a great game with my favorite character Leon. 1-3 are more puzzle oriented and 5-6 are action. Plz do a RE 4 playthrough, much love and keep it up👌👌👌
I'm a big fan of resident evil games and the reason is they have good graphics and a really good story line and a lot of jump scares lol especially biohazard it's terrifying in VR
Yo, I just uploaded my own resident evil scenario. It's called 'Resident evil: Umbrella Corporation'. Plays differently then the other ones. Mainly because it runs off of the vampire scenario instead of zombies. Also it goes from RE0-RE6 with RE:CV as well. I spent probably a month of work on it, took me a year to finish though XD. Would love for you to at least try it out.
VIDEO GAMES! OH YEAH! is a scenario made for you (not by me) but the person who made this really wants you to play this Also, I just played it, it's sooo good! Good symptoms... 10/10 would recommend! But there is a big problem with abilities - They don't unlock. Again, not my scenario. Just thought you would like it.
personally yes and no it depends on if you can overlook plot holes and bad writing, however, it is very heavy on viruses, parasites, and etc. I personally like the science aspect of the series. I recommend you do some research into the diseases and lore into the series before you play.
Id recommend the resident evil series, 1 is a classic, 2 is great and you should try the remake, 3 is iconic cause of Nemesis, 4 is a great mix of action and horror, 5 is more action than horror but it's still good, 6 is just action packed and pretty much screws off the horror, 7 is practically a back to basics sequal, and the spin offs are either hit or miss
Hey Pravus I hope you see this because I've been trying very hard to get you to play my scenario it's called "Plague Zero" rating is 4 stars very fun secret ending included pls reply if im not giving you this request right
Resident evil is really worth getting into, only if you really care about the story, if you're planing on casual-ing it, don't bother, it just becomes another survival horror shooting game.
im a fan of resident evil ive played resident evil revelations re the mercenaries 3d and resident evil 6 and 7 although 7 made me permanently rage quit it lol ive also played a tiny bit of 4 and 5
I'm one of those old school RE fans. The old ones where all about resource managing and a lot of back tracking trough zombie infested areas. Hence a survival horror game... Somewhere along the line with RE 4-5 the franchise mutated to a zombie shooter (I guess due to the introduced Mercenary-mode which was unlockable in RE3 which attracted a new player base). Up to RE7 it was all about killing as many zombies as possible with a huge arsenal of weapons with a mediocre story line since the main focus was about the shooting gameplay and it's balancing (looking at you RE Revelation -.-). RE7 took a turn back at the survival gameplay but my guess is that it was just a side effect due to the increasing market for VR games which was clearly the focus on that title... So yeah I don't expect the RE series to ever go back to a survival horror game but rather just stick to what makes the most money. Not saying that it's no longer fun to play, but for me the first 2 titles where the 'real' Resident Evil games. So yeah the hype about the reboots are short lived for most of the newcomers to the series, but a welcome gem for 'veterans' :)
if you want to try getting into resident evil, try start from resident evil 4 for shooter experiencce or resident evil 2 for survival experience, maybe you'll like it if you just want to know the lore, you can just watch it on youtube because there is like 20 resident evil game

You’re definitely missing out not playing Re remake Re 2 and the remake and even Re 3 nemesis. Code Veronica isn’t bad at all just some of the characters (Steve) is just annoying. Re4 is also a must play you can pass on 6 and 5 has ups and downs but nothing like the originals.
