    I sold my Taurus .357 Magnum snubnose so I could buy this firearm. I'm completely satisfied I made the right choice. 11 + 1 has definitive advantages over a 5 shot revolver. If you're looking for a well thought out compact, budget friendly 9mm, then this handgun is definitely a front runner. I am very happy with mine.

    Taurus now has an optics-ready version available.

      I figured it wouldn’t take long. I don’t know why they didn’t just release it with one as an option.

    The Taurus G4X is a great, well made pistol, reliable, combat accurate, for an affordable price.
    Excellent presentation review 👏🏼

    I'm thinking of buying this as a carry gun for my wife. Lots of available accessories.

    I am going to have to agree with what most have said here in the comments that yes options like a red dot mount and light mount would benefit those that use them but a close range defense pocket size carry pistol does not need any bulk or snags that a light and red dot would make since the purpose of the pistol is deep concealed carry. Those would defeat the purpose of the pistol.

      I think that’s what excites me the most about all of the options on the market right now. These features are important to me, but not to you. Because of that this gun is perfect for a large audience. It’s just not my favorite.

    I’ve had my GX4 at the range 3 times & put 450 rounds through it, never had the problem you had with the magazine, but every shooter is different and I understand that

      I totally agree. For whatever reason my hands just don’t fit the gun well. It’s unfortunate because I think it is a good gun overall.

      What grain ammo does the GX4 like? 115, 124, 147? For range and self defense.

    Disagree about having an optic on a micro "Pocket" gun.

    • @code4defense745
      @code4defense745  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I probably would have agreed even up till a couple of years ago, but after having used them for so long I think the option is nice. That said it isn’t an absolute must have, however, the inclusion of the option might appeal to a larger audience.

    Might as well carry G19 if you are wanting to put optics, lights and lasers on it. That's not what these micro 9's are about. They are for close range defensive use, not being tacticool. Really don't need any sights at all for 5-7 yards defensive use, much less a $250+ optic on a $350 gun.

    • @code4defense745
      @code4defense745  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      You do bring up valid points, and I am willing to concede on the need for a rail to mount a light or laser. That said, I still like the option for a red dot sight. While it might not be your cup of tea, it is something that I put on my defensive handguns, even the micro carry ones.

    Same with my grip, not a good design if it could prevent adequate response to a threat.

    Red Dots..😒 Nobody knows how to shoot a gun without training wheels anymore…

    • @code4defense745
      @code4defense745  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      This is just me asking a question, and by no means saying that this opinion is outright wrong. Have you had the chance to shoot with a dot? I spent the past 15 years shooting standard irons, and have shot thousands and thousands of round with standard irons. Over the past three years I have spent a lot of time transitioning to a dot, and there is literally no appreciable downside to carrying the dot. It allows you to be faster, more accurate, and remain target focused. By no means is it a crutch for bad shooters. Why not take out one of the fundamentals, sight alignment, if you can?

    • @slapnutsabingo8624
      @slapnutsabingo8624 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@code4defense745 Yep shot with a red dot many a times. Also in classes have seen that within the 2-4 second window that most violence takes place, taking the time to acquire the red dot could mean the difference between you taking a bullet or them. As no one who first learned with an iron site could get the red dot on target faster then the iron site. You can’t “pumpkin on a post” with a red dot and that will be most of your violent encounters.
      Red dots on a rifle or a competition sure, on a EDC CCW 👎. Just like carry purses and gun safeties, they’ll get you killed.
      P.S. Obviously I mean safeties on a striker fire. not 1911 or hammers. Then a safety is warranted as you will also train with it.
      By the way, I also gave you a thumbs up because it was a well pointed view.

    I don’t care for light on a pistol. I train with a handheld

    • @code4defense745
      @code4defense745  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I think there is a lot of merit on carrying and using a hand held light for self defense. That’s awesome that you train for it. Not many seem to. My only point is that not every end user is the same, and having the option might open the gun up to a larger audience.
