- Mullaperiyar Dam issue Documentary 'DAMs -- The Lethal Water Bombs', is a thought provoking documentary filmed on the backgrounds of the Mullaperiyar Dam and creates a sense of social responsibility among its audience. It grabbed the attention of various dignitaries from both cultural and political sectors. The documentary has been honored with numerous awards and has got laurel of been screened at several film festivals since its release in January 2011. It was screened at 'India International Film Festival of Tampa Bay 2011', 'SIGNS 2011', '4th Annual Charleston International Film Festival 2011', 'Chagrin Documentary Film Festival' and 'Kish International Film Festival 2011'. It also won Best Documentary Short at 'Los Angeles Cinema Festival of Hollywood Spring 2011', Award for Excellence, Best Editing and Best Visual Effects at 'Los Angeles Movie Awards 2011' and Award for excellence at Best Shorts Competition for Short Documentary.

Thank you for reporting the seriousness of the grave condition of Mullaperiyar dam. How foolish and irresponsible are the ruling parties of our state who are waging war on opposition parties when they come to power. It is very clear from Jayalalithas speech about 3 years ago that no politician from Kerala will support the agitation against Mullaperiyar, because all political parties are given hundreds of acres of land in the 3 districts which are watered by Mullaperiyar. It is a concern that our Supreme Courts cannot understand that a contract signed by a local king and Tamilnad in 1895 has no value after India got independence in 1947. We must go to international court of justice as millions of innocent are at peril.

and gave certificate that the dam was strong and recommend to store water upto142ft. Actual water height156 ft.

The water diversion is permanent, only the dam land and catchment areas amounting to 8000 acres is only the part of lease agreement. So water permanently belongs to Tamil Nadu, the entire Mullaiyar catchment area is in Tamil Nadu only. Tamil Nadu gave away Peermedu and Devikulam taluk which should have been a part of Madurai/Theni district because it is linguistically Tamill dominated as per 1956 State organisation bill for "Mullaiperiyar Water" Only. So if the agreement ceased tamil nadu can still take away Peermedu and Devikulam taluks. Keralas 75% vegetables come from Tamil Nadu, So Tamil Nadu is ensuring kerala food security, so it is the duty of kerala to ensure Tamil Nadus Water Security.

Thank god.....Some how we crossed this year...why can't we think about outer dam in our property...if in case the current dam break...it will protect Kerala..and we have huge source of hydro electric power which we can rent out if we build outer dam....
