Just to clarify somethings on dpi if anyone’s interested: 1. The measure of DPI is dots per inch. What it really means is how many pixels you travel per inch of mouse movement. 1000dpi = 1000 pixels traveled by moving your mouse one inch. 2. If you are switching monitors you want to consider the Pixels Per Inch (PPI) when adjusting DPI or resizing your game client. The example below will demonstrate what I mean: I have a 1080p(1920X1080)px monitor on a 17.3’ monitor. That works out to approx 127.34 pixels per inch. Now I switch to a 1440p(2560X1440)px monitor on a 27’ screen. That works out to roughly 108.79px per inch. On the lower res 17’ screen, at a 1000dpi, moving my mouse 1’ to the right will move the cursor 7.86’ on the screen. On the higher res 27’ screen moving my mouse, at a 1000dpi, 1’ to the right will move the cursor 9.19’ on the screen. To compensate on the higher res 27’ screen I can either increase my runelite client size proportionately to compensate for the larger physical distance traveled on the screen OR decrease my DPI so I can keep the same client size as my 17’ screen.
Listen to me I have been looking for this exact comment for nearly a year since I bought new monitors. I knew that my sens inherently changed when upgrading resolution but could not put it to words or find a solution outside of “your sense is the same your monitors just bigger” which is technically true but… I feel the need to say thank you
"Fixed" mode in runescape settings, and "Stretched mode" in runelite settings with "keep aspect ratio" enabled. Then you don't have to worry about the resolution of your monitor.
But then you have to move farther to make you clicks putting you at a disadvantage. Might as well just be in full screen resizable at that point. You can go to rune light settings and change the resolution. So long as it’s a multiple of the original it will look fine. Still keep aspect ratio and integer scaling on. This way you can have a slightly larger client but not give up the shorter click distances.
Video helped a lot on my clicking bro thanks. I have a naga x and didn’t even think to go into my settings and switch it over to naga then turned off the enhancement pointer turned up my DPI in the naga software and now I’m clicking so much smoother.
Epic! Never knew that about the dpi, love this unique content, it’s a question I know a LOT OF PEOPLE have been like wow! Best of luck with new followers, well deserved.
I have a 24" monitor I use 3600 dpi on 7th bar mouse speed with enhanced precision off. I use a tezmos rgb wired USB mouse and key board. Pking is better on fixed because you have less travel distance between items in your inventory and the player you are fighting. The larger your screen, the higher mouse speed you will need and better hand eye mind coordination skills. Dpi settings allow your mouse to move more pixels across the screen at a time. So your best experimenting with low to medium settings. I met a guy running 400dpi he said. I could not kill him. He had perfect switches lol he did not say monitor size
bruhh this video was a godsend loll im learning how to pk and the mouse setting definitely helped me made an improvement for my switching and combos im going to keep practicing hopefully some juicy kos are to come in the future i want to try that other game you were playing see if that will make a huge difference as well thanks man great video subbed and saving this for later 😁
