Sorry I missed the live. Y'all look like rather good painters to me. As CARnage 2 draws to a close, I realize that that 2 player add on is just around the corner and it might be fun to vidoecast some of my spouse's and my games, but we're gonna need some half decent cars to do that and I haven't painted minis in decades. Anyone have any advice on a minimal set of tools? IDK, maybe I'll buy some hot wheels and superglue weapons on 'em. I've already got the CARnage 1 set and have a local resign printer in mind. The other problem is, I just cannot wait!
Hiya! Ian here (not actually in this one but it’s a great question!) From my experience. 1 primer. A spray can of black white or grey. 2 Just a basic paint set like @thearmypainter character starter set, or some of the @turbodork shifter range for a cool effect, 3 a cheap set of brushes maybe spend a tenner on a set from Amazon. 4 this is more a tip. Thin your paint with water to get a better smooth coat. Then add another layer once the first has dried until you get an effect you like. 5 just have fun with it. You don’t need to stress or have tons of equipment. Sling some paint and see how you feel
@@BandofBadgers thanks, is the @thearmypainter primer a good one? IDK, I'm kind of leaning toward a couple of Turbo Dorks, but they seem to recommend a white base but don't offer one.
@@dragonbornindustries thanks Ian. I'm really leaning toward a couple of Turbo Dorks colors. But they don't seem to offer a white primer? Do you have any recommendations for a white base?
@@depleteduraniumcowboy3516 I use Matt white from the army painter and their black as well as any rattle can black to be honest. If you’re looking at the shifters most of them need to be used over black! HOWEVER! The awesome guys at turbo actually write on the bottle how to best use their paints over what primer or base coat 🤘
Hey there. I totally agree with Ian. Hit up your local hobby shop, get a few colors that you like, and have fun.

My top tip as a beginner is to get a decent primer 😉
