I would love to see how you have the center post mounted. Is that some how in your tool post? I don't think mine goes all the way in to be in center of the bowl like that. Nice functioning tool!

I would like to have the plans so my husband could build me one. At age 78 he's got so many irons in the fire now I would have to build it myself. Sure would give it a try, but he would try to make the time even if he didn't get to it until I was past using it, LOL. You did a great job as usual.

Good job....what's the dimensions of the coring system

Nicolaas Marais, the one I'm showing cores up to a 13" bowl when used at full depth. I also have cutters for 15" and 19" corings. I need to make a 10" one. However blanks are typically never deep enough to use the full capability of the cutters. As one moves the jig back from the chuck to prevent too shallow of a bottom, the diameter of the point of entry goes down. Therefore any of the jigs can make corings smaller than their maximum diameter but the depth goes down accordingly. So for example if you want a diameter of 13" but the blank will only allow it to be 4 inches deep. One would not use the 13" jig which at that diameter would go over 6" deep. By using the 19" cutter but backing it up so that it closed down to 13" before contacting the bowl it will actually result in a shallower cut. On another posting on my channel I describe the construction step by step. Good luck.

Very good. Would love to see a build process, even though it wouldn't be too hard to work out.

Jay Woodson, Sorry, it's just a hobby. There are a variety if commercial coring jigs out there. I was just too cheap to buy one.

I had a powerpoint presentation of what I did so I converted it to a video file to get it to youtube. You will have to pause and read each slide, it cycles slides about every 15 seconds if you don't pause it. th-cam.com/video/hqa29u0m68A/w-d-xo.html
