Kim and Garrett These are the best Laser Projects I've seen. The Heart would be a great Wedding or Anniversary or any occasion gift. The Guitar is amazing! Thank you!
Love it. We've been married 45 years and our wedding song was "The Wedding" by Jodi Wayne (A South African singer). He actually came to our wedding and sang it to us.
I am loving the "hi peeps" doorhanger in the background of your video. Can you please please please add it to your digital downloads?!? It is so stinking cute!! I tried my hand at creating my own door hangers and it was a diaster! Garrett is such a pro at creating these files! When I tried, it was so overwhelming. Thank you so much for posting these videos. You guys are so inspiring!! Please don't stop making videos!!
These are beautiful! I just engraved In My Life by the Beatles and A Thousand Years by Christina Perri. Both are on hardwoods. They are stunning and a surprise for family members. We didn't have a dancing at our wedding, it was quite small, however one of my best friends sung Wind Beneath My Wings and dedicated it to my Mom who had passed away. :)
Your comment made my day! It's heartwarming to know that the engravings resonated with you and your family. Thank you for sharing your personal story. I bet there wasn't a dry eye in the house...
OMG I almost died!!! The tiny hands when placing the board in the machine? I was having breakfast and almost choked to death from laughter…. Thanks for the morning wake up. Better than coffee 👍🏼 Oh, sweet video btw 😆
Thank you so much for your kind words! No, we don't apply a finish or top coat to our signs. We used outdoor paint, so we thought it would be fine. If we used a chalk paint or something, we would seal it with a spray of polyacrylic.
Great video! How do you guys choose fonts for projects like these. Are there fonts or font packages you would recommend a beginner get for designing projects like these?
"if you could see what I see" by Geoff Moore. Married 4 April 1996. Of course I cheated a little bit, I sang the song to her during the ceremony, so I kind of remember! :)
Wow love it. I tried to think of our song and nope no clue😂. My son whose name is Garrett (spelled a little differently) Had a song written especially for his wife and can’t wait to create the heart one. The black frame worked great for the guitar ❤❤❤
Most exciting part of this video? Teh eraser tool.... you have unlocked nirvana for me! lol My wedding song was "A Groovy kind of Love" by Phil Collins.... I had to look it up in my apple library. In my defense - I'm divorced lmao
Long As I Live by John Michael Montgomery was our song but my husband insists it was Crazy B.... By Buck Cherry. This was due to a catering delay so there was some imprevising going down. 😅
I believe if you add his name, like adding an author's name, when quoting, then you are okay. You aren't stealing. You are giving credit where it's due. Pretty sure they aren't claiming it as their own property.
@@barbblack7825 Unfortunately that is not accurate at all. It doesn't matter that you give credit; you are profiting off of someone else's intellectual property. If that were the case, everyone could sell Marvel, Disney, NFL, etc. material with no repercussions. There are Etsy shops that have been permanently closed for selling T-shirts with generic Taylor Swift-esque lyrics. An example that got one closed down is a shirt that read "You can't spell awesome without ME - T.S." Look at the woman selling tumblers who got sued by Luke Combs' copyright lawyers. That had a "happy" ending, but the only reason it had a happy ending is because of Luke Combs' image as a "working man", and he was doing PR damage control. There are hundreds, possibly thousands of unhappy endings in cases like this. There are literally people whose jobs consist of scouring the internet looking for IP infringement.
@@KimandGarrettmakeit This is one time I am saddened by your flip attitude toward copyright and that you are propagating the unrighteous act to everyone. If it's for personal use, that's fine, but your intent is to sell. This isn't like getting a design off of Canva and just because you saw someone else do it doesn't make it right. (any Bridges nearby?) Here's a portion of someone else's reply from another site regarding lyric copyrights: Generally, the lyrics are the copyright of the songwriter (or someone they sold all rights to). There may be some leeway for fair use if you use a very small portion of the lyrics, it makes up a small part of your work, and/or there is no profit gained from it. Fair use should be considered case-by-case, though, and is not a guarantee against a takedown attempt. If the lyrics are going to be a prominent part of a commercial artwork, though, you will definitely want to get the okay of the owner of the songwriting copyright.
QUESTION: how long did they heart sign take to engrave on your Mira? Also, the tiny hands totally screwed with my eyes! Ha ha I had to make sure they were in focus before I realized what those were! 😂
Haha, those tiny hands are tricky! The heart took 28 minutes to engrave and cut. The engrave took slightly longer than it took for us to remove all the the masking pieces. LOL
Can't remember our song, I've been married for 23years. On another 🎶 😂 I cant seem to be able to grab the blinking cursor thingy. Is there another way to edit the lyrics in notepad?😊
ALSO... we've been together for 30 years, married 17 of those 30... so at 19 I needed a song, my husband, but so much... buuut he came up with BELIEVE by Elton John and that's our song we didn't do a traditional wedding, it was small, in our living room, reception in the garage... we paid for it ourselves $1600 for the whole thing, except my dress my grandma bought me and the cake was donated by my mil bakery friend and our bartender was the neighbor and i did all the decor and food, which was 2 chocolate fountains and then dipping stuff.... sounds so ghetto haha but it was actually very sweet and perfect... so we've never had our first dance... but I walked down the isle to Broken Road by Rascal Flatts
Love your channel and work, BUT...I would suggest that people be VERY careful trying to sell this type of project. Song lyrics are copyrighted intellectual property, and selling items like this could open you to legal issues and could get you huge fines and/or shut down. As a one-off gift to give to someone, sure, but as a money-making project? As I said, I would be VERY careful.
In 1997, I walked down the aisle to Truely, Madly, Deeply by Savage Garden and our first dance was I finally found someone by Bryan Adams and Barbara Streisand.

I’m stuck in remedial class with the first project😳…I don’t even remember my wedding date, let alone a song😂…Lawdy, was there a song? I don’t think we had one or even danced together.
Song lyrics are very much COPYRIGHTED. Just saw a video earlier this week about an Etsy Creator who lost her entire store and a ban on selling anything, because she was using copyrighted song titles! A crafter selling copyrighted lyrics for profit will NEVER come under copyright exceptions for fair use. NEVER USE Copyrighted material, and you might consider never encouraging anybody to violate copyrights to make some money. Doing these as a private gift once or twice would probably never catch the lawyers' attention, but anything on a regular basis or for profit will likely encourage the artists' lawyers to come after you fast and hard! Please do not encourage anybody to violate Copyright law!
@@KimandGarrettmakeit Please, for the sake of your business, speak with your lawyer before taking custom orders, as you are taking money from someone to violate copyright law. Please speak with a lawyer. Use copyright-free material, like old poems!
Taking custom orders doesn’t make it any less illegal. I do these with vows, well wishes, toasts, and invitations. It is not wise to take unnecessary risks with your business. All money is not good money especially when it’s made off of someone else’s hard work.
Agree with John. Love your channel, but song lyrics are a big no-no, not even as a one-off custom job. Not to say you couldn't get away with it, but the penalty if the owner comes after you could be a business killer. You have to decide if it's worth the risk. Remember when RIAA decided to go after Napster sharers? Ruined several people's lives over sharing music. It's a risk you really have to consider, plus it's not fair to the people who ARE following the rules. Seller beware!

Very nice art work and creative! Wedding song Forever I Do by Lou Rawls over 30yrs ago😃
This is awesome! Are the functions similar in inkscape?

Hi, there, thanks for another great video! Do you put a finish or top coat to protect your signs? If so, what do you use?

Hi, did y'all use notepad++ or just notepad? Thank you!
Just notepad
What do you use for hangers on the back of your signs? Married 25 years . George Strait- I Cross My Heart
These will go in a little stand. For the signs we intend to hang, we build in hanger slots. 25 years is AWESOME!!! Great song too!
Would the Xtool P2 do the same?
Yes it will! Good Luck!
So did you make the frames used in this project?
Yes, I have a bunch of files set up with frames.
Love them
Thanks!

28 years ago, our first dance (and the entire theme of our wedding) was Everything I Do by Bryan Adam’s.
What size wood thickness do you use to cut the frame?
Do you have a video where you make similar with inkscape? Thanks.
34 years this June. Wonderful Tonight by Eric Clapton!
34 years is a big deal! Congrats on the milestone, keep the love alive!
34 years ago, Unchained Melody ❤
Timeless classic! Congrats!
Which Adobe?
I see so many
We use Adobe Illustrator.

My wedding song was "A Groovy kind of Love" by Phil Collins.... I had to look it up in my apple library. In my defense - I'm divorced lmao
