One thing that pissed me off: After Issei defeats Diodora, he says "stay away from Asia". No sir. You're a wimp. Kill him, otherwise he's gonna come back and kill your friends in their sleep.
Just so you know, this season completely butchered the LN. The author got so pissed off that he axed the studio and went with Passione for DxD Hero (hence the change in art to match the LN art). Episode 0 of S4 retcons most of Born, so if you really want to know what Born was supposed to be, then read volumes 5-7 of the LN.

My step father just started watching the series and I find it pretty gross but you’ve shown me there’s a plot deeep deep deep deep down under everything. I still wouldn’t watch the show but I’m glad to see the reviews to see what it could be without the fan service

5:00 Something about Rias being the one to give us her servants backstories? I actually bought all the Novels to see if my theory about this is correct. It’s hard to overstate how fun it is getting into the author’s head through a language barrier AND a ‘cheap entertainment’ barrier.
I really hope you cover High School DxD HERO. It covers the source material in tune than what BORN did which caused controversy and uproar with the light novel author who disliked how Born was handled.
I agree would be nice to see the team’s dynamics with each other which we kinda do but it’s always who their paired with never like Xenovia and Akeno talking, which I mean to be fair their personalities are drastically different and they don’t really share anything in common besides liking Issei so I guess that’s why we don’t really get to see pairings like that and why they stay with their respective team mate their paired with, but to be fair we kinda got a Xenovia and Koneko talking to each other during the bath scene granted Asia was there but still it was a little something of a dynamic. Now to talk about next season so you already got that the last three episodes were filler which had came back to bite the studio animating DxD because you may notice a change in animation that’s because TNK didn’t ask permission from the creator if they could make those episodes basically changing the story to which the fans who read the Light Novels of DxD did not like the filler, but it’s interesting because the fans who only watched the Anime either didn’t like it because it was filler or enjoyed it so those last three episodes are controversial among the fanbase of DxD, but one thing for sure the creator didn’t appreciate them adding the filler into the Anime so he left TNK and gave DxD to studio Passione to animate it this time around so yeah that’s why the animation is different because of the last studio’s meddling and not asking if they could change anything, so the new animation will take some getting used too and we all miss the old animation but it’s understandable why it changed because of studio meddling unfortunately but it’s not so bad once you get used to it and I will say the fight scenes are more fluid then they are in Season 3 and Sairaorg gets a little spot light this fourth season.
You're right, the drastically different personalities wouldn't bounce with characters like Akeno and Xenovia. There's not a lot that can be done with them interacting. The jump in studio really surprised me so it'll take some time getting used to
@@thebreadhead2000 Yeah just give it a few episodes you’ll get used to it plus like I said fight scenes are more fluid like season 2 was, also when you finish the Anime I highly recommend reading the Light Novels of DxD as the story continues as the Anime is following the Light Novels but some things were cut due to how many episodes like for example Sona’s group and Rias group had a rating game VS each other and our girl Asia got more familiars and she unlocked a little power for herself but I won’t spoil more on that go read the Manga and Light Novels of DxD lol. Since the Anime is following the Light Novels, whenever Season 5 comes out it’ll be a very interesting arc, as the story isn’t concluded there’s still so many arcs to cover in the LN but the studio never officially announced a release date but they said they want to make a season 5 and continue DxD’s story and the series has been getting a lot of merchandise for it, like figures and blu-ray dvd sets for DxD.

I recommend giving the HS D×D light novels a try, it covers the series more in-depth in its characters & world building than the anime could.

It only went down to LN readers, for anime only watchers, this season was great 🤷♂️
