@@Kevser-o5r Yeah but idol dancing and dance school are really different, like idol dancing is more endurance and facial based, while normal dance is really about bodily expression
@@mae7493 uhh i've read somewhere that she only trained for 1 day and when she auditioned they gave her avideo with egoist's choreo in it and she came back to perform it and yeah she became the 12th girl of LOONA
what I like about Heejin is that her stage presence is always ON even when the camera isn't on her. If you watch fancams it's like she's never taking a break like many idols (even centres) do once they're done their part. That's what I think makes her such a good centre
You're comment for Jinsoul is soooo spot on. If you look at her dancing closely, you can see she isn't technically great at it (at times her dancing looks heavy, missing some details, lacking in power, etc.), but her overwhelming charisma and stage presence makes up for it tremendously. Heck when odd eye circle came out I instantly thought she was the main dancer. That's the power of a great performer and Jinsoul is top tier at it.
absolutely!!!!!! It's even more important to be a great performer than to be a great dancer, in kpop. You can see that in the shows they have, usually the better performers place higher than the better dancers
“So cruelly good in what she does.” A VERY ACCURATE DESCRIPTION OF MISS HEEJIN. Every time she performs I wonder how could anyone POSSIBLY top that, I really do. Especially in the Full Moon cover, like, there’s no way to do that any better, right? I can’t believe how flawlessly she can perform HOW IS SHE EVEN REAL?????
Ikr loona are such allrounder queens, esp Choerry, she has great visuals, confidence, stage presence, can dance, choreograph, sing, rap, she can do basically EVERYTHING
I find with Hyunjin, Jinsoul, and ViVi in particular is it seems that if they arent interested in a dance they underperform. Underperforming with Loona still means it's an amazing and wonderful dance, but it's just something I've noticed! I love them all so much tho and this ranking is really good!
thanks :)) I noticed it too. Also with Olivia, which could be even higher, if you only counted Fire, Cherry bomb, egoist and Eclipse. But hey they are still pretty good
I love love love how in that Heejin fancam she makes a mistake and she's so cute about it, with a huge embarrassed smile on her face, but in the next move she flips her hair and her face does a whole 180° and goes back to serious and tough. She is definitely #1 in facials on stage.
I feel like Hyunjin's one of the best in LOONA when it comes to, like, sexy-ish dances ig? vivi too actually, choerry, and heejin. also, the fact that choerry is already main dancer material basically means the rest that come after are too. that's... 5 main dancers in ONE group 😭
Note: I really liked how you brought up like "Heejin is number 1 in facials" etc. etc. I would have loved to see like a list of each catagory (no need to explain each one, just a simple list)
oh i didnt make a list of everything and then made the score. I anaysed in my mind and then picked a score that matched them. Was this what you asked? hahah thanks for commenting
I get it, I think they are very good dancers. But I made the scores thinking I'll make one to every girl group and will compare. So if their scores were higher, it'd be harder to place other girls in the future but thanks for commenting :))
Jaiden 666999 shes given center time here and there and when she does it’s prominent and like “duh, she should be center more!!” It is hard with a group like Loona when everyone is on their A game and there’s 12 members. Gowon serves everytime. Her technique is really good. But the fan base overlooks her for being cute
My top 3 are: 1. Kimlip, because her strong point is in the details. And what some of the top kpop sexy dancers say, "detail is what you need when dancing sexy". For example in the clip in this vid, her fingers and the angles of her hips are placed perfectly. Not to mention, her technique. 2. Heejin, because if what you need is someone to bring charisma, itll definitely be her. During mixnine, she ate up every teammate she got each evaluation in terms of stage presence. 3. Yves, because due to her hiphop background and musicality, her body control is off the charts. She will deliver every move perfectly every damn time. The reason why olivia isnt my top 3 is due to her inconsistency to the genre of the dance.
I agree completely, Kim Lip is underrated in dancing for some reason even though everyone agrees she's really good there's always arbitrary reasons they rank others above her lol
@@vemeli-s8j there’s nothing wrong with that. Y’all kpop fans complain when idols “under dance” and “lack energy” and then when we have Olivia who gives all her energy and dance with so much power y’all complain as well. What’s the problem y’all have w female idols being “heavy on their feet” while dancing? It’s another dance style. Not all female idols will dance super feathery and light. Also Olivia’s dancing looks heavy partly bc she’s got a more muscular body type than the rest of the Loona members, ever thought of that? Y’all have this mindset that Female idols= light, feathery dance Make idols= heavy, powerful dance And when female idols like Olivia Hye or Ryujin have this masculine dance techniques y’all complain about it. No, dancing isn’t tied down to a gender. Females can dance masculine, they don’t have to be expected to dance light and feminine and same w male idols. Can’t you be open towards all dance styles female idols possess? If Olivia’s energy, power and stage presence is “over dancing” then every idol should over dance. Btw Olivia is an amazing dancer who has her own style of dance, her own personality when dancing and she has the ability to own the choreography like it’s her own, that’s TALENT and that’s what makes her a good dancer. She also has great control over her body esp. her torso and never lacks energy! Plus she’s versatile. Olivia Hye is a great dancer and is extremely talented but Orbits and kpop fans love to discredit her and leave her out of the dance line for whatever reason. Even if an anti towards her still recognize her dancing.
FINALLY someone called me out. I noticed it in the moment I uploaded, but didn't want to reupload it. And after all this comments, you were the first to say it hahahah
I think in terms of technique Hyunjin should be ranked higher cuz she's super sharp and fluid at the same time, she just lacks facial expressions and sometimes her dance may seem awkward cuz of her long limbs
Savage she isn't super fluid tho, that's one of the main issues with her technique imo, she movements were sharp so what and butterfly era but so what era they were unclean. she unfortunately lacks the most precision in the dance line too. don't get me wrong she has strengths too like she sometimes has great sharp movements especially in the butterfly choreography but some of her moves are executed awkwardly and it's even more awkward since she lacks expression
Hyunjin is out there performing her heart out whenever she got the chance on stage, cause she belongs on stage. You can see her full shine charisma and her wide smile on stage, compared to doing LOONATV or non-performing, she went back at becoming our Aeong. Also I'd like to say, Chuu is also one of the underrated dancer of LOONA, just look at how she snapped in Yeolgi stage. She snapped hard.
I’ve watched lots of LOONA fancams and somehow members improved and changed. No one asked but here’s my ranking uWu 1. Yves- a goddess. As for now i can’t see anything wrong with her dancing except for the fact that she looks too fierce and mature to really pull off a cute concept. 2. Heejin- For me, she is at the same level with Yves but is less powerful. However, Heejin’s facial expressions are 100% the best. She fits in every genre. She forgets the choreo most of the time now. 3. Choerry- She’s my all time fav dancer. What I can only say is that her dance is flawless. Theres bits of her underdancing like really bits but goes back right on the track. 4. OlHye- Great in everything but lacks a lil bit of facials. Most of the time her face looks kinda dead. 5. Hyunjin- She has the same thing with Choerry and she is super smooth and you know like she shows how to get the job done. 6. Kim Lip- I ranked her this low because I found her latest dance stiff, even stiffer than Chuu. She underdances from time to time. Its like she got no time to do the steps but she really kills it when shes on center. 7. Gowon- She really does great except she really cant do that much with stage presence. She knows the choreo pretty well and does it really great too. 8. Chuu- For me Chuu is the most underrated dancer on LOONA. When I first saw LOONA dance in the Relay Dance, I thought that she executes the steps really well. I cant see her lack or struggle dancing. Shes just this low because the others are just better than her. 9. JinSoul and Yeojin- I gotta make them tie because: JinSoul is a REALLY great performer that makes her look like a really firm dancer and Yeojin gets the job done and she memorizes ALOT of K-Pop dances. 10. Vivi- Vivi has power but she is stiff. She’s too stiff that she underdances but really executes the steps with power. 11. Haseul- I cant say much to her because i cant really see whats wrong with her dancing. Shes not too good and not too bad. The other members has just more strengths than her.
hahahah i liked your opinion!!!! I agree with a lot of things there and you said something I didn't: Yeojin memorizes a looot of dances from other artistas. Yves is better with Sumni but overall Yeojin really surprised me
I speak Hyunjinese yes i guess so. i only put jinsoul because of her great form that looks like shes one of the best dancers but ill give it to yeojin. I forgot to point out that yeojin is fluid but sometimes shorten her steps
Here is my ranking. I am also a dancer, but I wouldn't call myself as a professional since I've had classes for 5 months before lockdown. These are also my opinions and feel free to disagree. (I'll only be ranking the dance-line) 1. Yves - Yves' technique is centered around smoothness with a bit of elegance. She has good coordination, angles and body locks. She doesn't underdance/overdance. Her facials are good, but could do better. She stands out more on urban rather than girlier, more upbeat concepts. I don't really have much to say since we haven't seen much of her dancing. 2. Heejin - Heejin is a power-oriented dancer. She has good hip coordination (seen in her fancam in mixnine) and has the best facials. For a main dancer, she is quite underdeveloped. Dancers that are power-oriented tend to overdance (this was during Butterfly era). She is also prone to tension in her arms. As with Yves, I also don't have much to say because we haven't seen much 3. Kim Lip - Kim Lip is centered around preciseness and gracefulness with a little bit of chill. She has great arm coordination, great dance angles, and footwork. Her moves are clear and extended. She does lack some power in parts that require it. 4. Olivia Hye - A phenomenal idol dancer. She is a powerful dancer. She has great torso control, flow, and angles. I could really see her do hip hop. Unlike Kim Lip, she overdances in some parts that requires chill executions. 5. Gowon - Gowon is the most UNDERRATED in the dance-line. Out of all the lead dancers here, she (in my opinion) has the best body locks. I could really see her potential in popping. Like Kim Lip, Gowon is centered around preciseness. But she's ranked this low because her technique could use some more nurturing. She has soooooo much potential to be a main dancer tho. 6. Choerry - Choerry is lead dancer material. Her technique focuses on sharpness. She has good angles and footwork, facials are great, and I feel like she knows a lot of styles. Choerry really shines on hip hop and tutting. I'd really love to see more of her dancing to really give a proper analysis, but unfortunately, we just have to wait. Choerry lacks proper execution of moves which sometimes looks untidy (during Butterfly era, but she has fixed that quite a bit). 7. Hyunjin - Hyunjin is a great dancer, but she has the most weaknesses in the dance-line. Her technique focuses around sharpness. She has good arm control, angles and executions. However, torso and hip control is lacking, making her look stiff.
7:34 YES!! as a brazilian i basically died when olivia did that, plus when heejin said she lived in brazil for one month my mind literally blowed out and i was wondering if i already saw her in streets, like i know brazil is a massive country but theres a possibility.
2:00 lmao this is literally me. I've been getting into loona for like a week now and I literally thought Jinsoul was one of the main dancers, she's just SO mesmerizing to watch I hadn't even taken the time to really analyze her dancing
they're all insanely good, especially considering how young/ new they all are to the industry, but Olivia Hye and Jinsoul have such stage presence. Olivia Hye always seems to steal and dominate the section of the performance she's in, like Full Moon or Cherry Bomb.
Olivia Hye is a true IT girl and I see no one mentioning it; like she has the wow factor, killer charisma and stage presence, amazing visuals and amazing dance skills as well as her raps and vocals. Olivia, Jinsoul, Heejin, Chuu, Choerry. They have nest stage Presence for me.
ngl if they're out preforming most of the other groups that have been together for 5-6 years before their second anniversary i feel like by their fifth anniversary they'll all be probably some of the best dancers in kpop
I really love how you were able to give very pragmatic critiques without being rude or putting any of the idols down in order to heighten another one. Huge kudos!
Omg Heejin girl is just, so good? I'm new to loona I'm definitely gonna check her fancams wowow. And the girl in #3 (sry I already forgot her name) her dancing was so SMOOTH. Amazing dancers.
my tops are ; yves - i feel like i don’t even need to elaborate, her only issue that i can see is she slightly tenses up, she just needs to relax lol heejin - her dancing style is my fav of the group, and for only being 16-17 at debut she already had a strong technique and her facials are definitely the best of the group. her moves sometimes lack in versatility, which is really my only complaint. liphye - so for this i was a bit conflicted on who to put higher so i just put both here lol. kim lip has a very sharp technique and coordinates her moves well with each other, mostly on the top half. she has great facials (not as good as heejin or jinsoul). however, kim lip’s footwork in comparison to some other members is pretty lacking. she also seems to have a bit of tension in her top half. oli has a technique that seems to be reliant on torso movements (?) and her torso movements/control is one of her best dancing qualities. her footwork isn’t mediocre per say, it’s just...good. she also has one of the best facials in the group. hyejoo is a VERY *strong* dancer. because her dancing style is so STRONG, she tends to over dance a lot. gowon - gowon, in my opinion, is one of the most detail-oriented members when it comes to dancing in loona. she flows well with her moves and has great control over her arms so they don’t look like they’re flopping everywhere. her technique seems to be very good. she’s also very good at different styles, but thrives in stuff like hip hop (especially popping lol). like choerry, gowon seems to be stiff in areas, but rather in her torso than her lower region. also, when not center, she lacks facials a lot, or looks a bit bored with certain concepts. choerry - choerry is really good at powerful dances and good at controlling her energy through her moves. however, she also lacks a lot of technique in the lower region of her body, such as lack of footwork technique (or if there’s any it’s very weak/not visible), and she seems to be a bit stiff while working anywhere on her lower region. her facials aren’t lacking like hyunjin’s but they’re not up there like heejin’s or jinsoul’s, but then again no one’s really is in comparison to them. hyunjin - hyunjin has GREAT control over her mid section of her body, however she’s a bit of a critical underdancer. her attention to detail when she dances is merely so-so, and she doesn’t appear to have a personal style. she also lacks in facials quite a bit, which holds her back from having a super interesting performance. yeojin - though i wouldn’t really consider yeojin a part of dance line, she constantly improves each comeback and is working towards being the same level of dancer as dance line.
I love how accurate and also respectful your comments are! Honestly I think chuu is quite underestimated for the potential she has, being an amazing force in lots of different concepts (the girl goes from hi high to heat, like-) and honestly her and yeojin for me might be the ones with most potential for future growth.
the whole ranking is spot on. only thing I disagree with is that I find that Yves actually does pull of the cute concept really well. her facial expressions makes me want to watch her in these performances. which only goes to show how versatile she is as a dancer and performer, she can literally pull off anything.
hey just a little too late (actually a lot) but I love how heejin is an all-rounder, she could be main vocalist, main dancer and maybe even main rapper in another group. also can we talk about how olivia had trained for only A DAY before debuting??? and now she is definitely on the dance and rap line aswell a nice vocalist i love these girls SO MUCH
Guuuurl I swear I have the exact same ranking (in my head) 😂 I really liked your explanation, and at tge end of the day none of them are bad dancers because they can all pull off their amazing Loona choreos and covers and are overall my favorite girlgroup to watch perform because they always fit the concept they are doing and put their 100% And I love how they can make concept that have often been seen to have easy choeros (cute, sexy, gracefull, etc.) So entertaining to watch with intricate formations, grest presence and energy that fits the song and synchronization! There dances like so what and butterfly are amazing, but it's still is the case for Daengx3 and number 1 for example 😍
Love this vid! Very astute observations of each of the girls. When I first became an orbit, the thing that struck me was how this is a group of DANCERS, and to have a group of 12 performers who are all this strong AND have great synergy is literally magic in motion. Also I know this video came out before they began promoting “Voice/Star” but Yves made the Orbits fucking EAT IT with her solo. One of my favorite choreography moments in KPop history.
Personally, my favourite dancer is Kim Lip. SHE'S SO SMOOTH I LOVE IT. She has the swag and style that makes u just want to watch her. But I agree that Yves should be first :)) great video though
As a fellow dancer, I find this fair and pretty well justified. Confirmed my assumptions and views towards their dance, but my primary reason for leaving the like would definitely be because of the Gowon Disaster Girl Meme HAHAHAHA
Ok, first of all thank you for making this video, I really enjoyed it. So, I'm not a professional in dancing and that stuff, I don't really know anything about it but Your opinion is so professional and well done that I love how honest it is. For me I think that LOONA has amazing Dancers, but of course they are human, they are not perfect. I agree with putting Haseul, Vivi and Chuu on the last positions, because their strength is singing and even visual, but they still have the required level of dancing to be idols. And Yes, Yves is a goddess in the stage, thanks for the video
S tier - yves (main issue is that she often looks awkward, possibly because she's really thin, and she has some issues with placements), heejin (best idol dancer, pretty good technically too), hyeju(in between S and A) A tier - jungeun, yerim (lacks energy and power sometimes, but her skills as a choreographer bring her up), yeojin (the second best IDOL dancer after heejin, although not as technically skilled. she can be messy at times, but she executes a lot of choreographies with ease and confidence) B tier - hyunjin, gowon C tier - vivi (God! she often looks uninterested because she's rarely highlighted, but when she's in a concept that suits her OR when she's properly utilized as a member she's amazing), chuu (also really fucking good as an idol dancer, probably lead dancer material) D tier - jinsoul (lacks in musicality and often looks stiff, but she's improved a lot recently! uncover is currently her peak since she was involved in creating the choreography and didn't just learn it), haseul (heavily underrated as a dancer. she's not on the same level as most of the members, but i love watching her dance. she seems to have some education in classical dance and it's really pleasing to see. she's not as bad as YG made her seem, but she does lack stamina which leads her to seem disengaged as a performance goes on.) heejin, yeojin, chuu, and hyeju are the most engaging performers IMO. they're all good dancers
forggstans i'm not sure but i think it's bc it's similar to the north korean's president's name (in their language, it's very similar and when spelled with hangul) and i read somewhere that she used to get bullied for it thus she has a stage name :( but i'm sure that she isn't comfortable with her real name being used to address her but i'm not sure about the reason
First, I loved your video. I hope Loona will get the recognition they deserve. Also I kept saying “what?! How could she (whoever) be so low in rankings?” And then seeing who’s next “oh right, she’s better”. They are all so good dancers that even the lower ones are like top in general. I just would have give Yves a higher score, like 35/10 😂 Seriously she’s a goddess! I knew she would be the first one. I remember watching Butterfly the other day and thinking that her moves were so fluid, it makes the dance more beautiful and surreal! Even in New’s live performance she dance better than her back dancers. And now every time I’m watching one of their dance videos, I’m looking at Yves just so she can blind me with her dance moves.
yes!! i really like her, she is one of the most underrated dancers right now, because there is no positions in Loona, so she isn't a main dancer. If she were, I'm pretty sure people would recognize her even more
although yves is a main dancer (if only the positions we're actually defined) yeojin, hyunjin, gowon, olivia, heejin are like the best hiphop lines she could actually nail hiphop so much but she's so girlcrush material that she could have both sexy and hiphop-ish thing to be mixed up and be her own concept. periodt. 💅🏽 yves and kim lip could actually be together in both sunmi concept and sexy hiphop-ish concept (ʸᵉᵒʲⁱⁿ ʷᵃⁿᵗᵉᵈ ᵗᵒ ᵇᵉ ⁱⁿ ᵃ ˢᵉˣʸ ᶜᵒⁿᶜᵉᵖᵗ ᵃⁿᵈ ⁱᵐᵐᵃ ᵗᵉˡˡ ʸᵒᵘ ᵍⁱʳˡ, ⁱ ᶠᵉˡᵗ ᵗʰᵉ ˢᵃᵐᵉ, ⁱ ˡᵒᵛᵉ ᵇᵉⁱⁿᵍ ᵃ ʰᵒᵉ) jinsoul, choerry, vivi could fit in any concepts as their character could easily fit in any of those (heejin could also fit in any concepts. although vivi could fit the most in "loona" concept especially "Butterfly" which is kind of a sentimental, but i swear to God, she could actually be a versatile idol, i know its hard to see vivi to be that one since bbc was being a bitch to her but she has a loooot of potential) chuu and haseul could pull up rapping and doing the highnote as high as a mirror would shatter. they can actually have a concept where is somewhat girlcrush-ish or real powerful, these bitches don't come to play. periodt.
I totally agree with your choices, but one thing you didn't mention for Yves is her groove. That girl can get it, something a lot of (idol) dancers don't have, is the groove. Yves has had this since before her debut. I'm not saying you did wrong by not mentioning it, but I feel like this makes her such a great dancer. Something that she does and that a lot of dancers have trouble with is fully extending her limbs. We all know Loona is tiny, but Yves is the ''tallest'' member of them all. She's got pretty long legs, and lots of dancers have trouble with being quick and sharp. Yves has got no trouble with this, and it shows.
Very accurate and valid ranking system. Maybe the only things I’d like to add are that I noticed that ViVi has a beautiful way of using her hands and Haseul’s sometimes able to let how much she’s enjoying herself bleed into her dance, making up for technique (a bit like Chuu and Jinsoul, but less frequent). I really enjoyed ViVi’s Butterfly fancams because of how clean, sharp, yet delicate and fluttery she did her butterfly hand motions.
3:22 yeojin dancing to idol, ok? I remember seeing her dancing to Ice Cream Cake and let's say she isn't at her fellow daegu queen level yet (and yes I'm talking about Irene)
I'm a Brazilian orbit and I REALLY DIED WHEN OLIVIA DID IT again, thanks for your evaluation criteria, i met your channel today, but i already admire your work
I agree but I feel like Hyunjin and Gowon should be more confident about their dancing. It makes them look a bit stiff unsure sometimes. Yeojin is much more confident even tho she isn’t as good technically. I feel like confidence really is key with dancing
thank you for recognizing gowons dancing abilities as well as hyunjin. Both of them could easily be lead dancers in a other gg imo. Even if hyunjin has a "dead face" she still looks more gracefull than most of the members. I'm not a dancer but I can just see it so yeah. Also i want more hip hop gowon because that hits different 👀 (p.s, I mostly see hyunjin and gowon ranked lower so this made me happy)
It's interesting you put Heejin 2nd. I've seen other loona rankings and discussions place her below Olivia, Kim Lip, and Choerry. I wonder why there's such a wide range, probably personal taste I suppose. I don't have a ton of dance experience but I can see why you put her so high, she's very consistent in a lot of areas and she's pretty versatile. To me Olivia Hye has this vibe of raw talent and power. She may not be as versatile or expressive as Heejin but I think with time and practice she could get on par or above Heejin. Olivia Hye and Yves are my favorite Loona dancers when it comes to powerful badass dances I think they really shine in those concepts. I think it's kinda similar to Itzy where Yeji and Chaeryeong may be better in technique and versatility than Ryujin but when it comes to powerful hip hop styles I think Ryujin just absolutely blows it out of the water. I loved Hyunjin's dancing in Butterfly. She looked so sharp and precise to me. I think I first really loved and appreciated Choerry's dancing when I saw the Fire cover and the Colors dance break. Her style is so smooth and fluid and elegant. Also shout out to my fellow tiny girl Yeojin. She sometimes gets overshadowed dancing in the whole group but when she does little covers of other GGs she does so well! I love seeing her dominate on those random dance challenges on variety shows. Since I've started dancing more myself, my appreciation for "the worst dancers" in kpop groups has just grown so much. Haseul and Vivi and Chuu keep up with the other girls which is no easy feat! It's a lot of hard work and practice and they deserve props for it. I enjoyed the video, thanks for making it! I'd been looking for a more recent loona dance video. Great job!
thanks for the comment :))) i agree very much with the olivia thing, her talent is really big but still raw, the opposite of kim lip, in my opinion, which is a great dancer but because of pure training and hard work.
Pretty good analysis, but I would give more weight to stage presence (not just looks) and fine details in the dance. ie: check out Chuu’s Sorry Sorry fancam... Known mostly as a great singer, her head bob and cool attitude at points were perfect and better than others. Also Loonacon with her Not Today performance. And in fact she had the sharpest dance moves. She’s not just a cutie. She’s a seriously good dancer. I would rank her higher. But of course everyone will have their own opinion.
Chuu is my bias in Loona hahah I love her stage presence, it's probably my 3rd fave in Loona. I tried to be more focused on technique and stuff. But totaly respect your opinion glad you liked it :))
Loona has such an interesting mix of members with years of training (Heejin/Hyunjin) vs members who had almost no training (Yves/Olivia Hye) but their chemistry is what truly makes the choreography look amazing
I almost 100% agree with every of the ranks! I got really impressed when I saw JinSoul so early but in my heart I was thinking "lol in fact everyone else is just so good that JinSoul has to be here". If you asked me, I would change GoWon and Olivia's ranks. I feel olivia underdances when she's not the spotlight, for example in Love4eva dance practice, and that GoWon is such a BEAST dancing the most underrated in loona. There is a video of GoWon pre-loona dancing hip hop and opened my eyes, now I can't unsee any of her dances, she seems to live emotionally the music. By the way, did you realize that BBC chose your top 5 for the Full Moon cover on last year's Halloween? On my opinion the most haunting and charming dance by loona, I can't get it out of my head! Very good video!!!
First time i've watched loona's fancam is just few minutes ago, and its heejin's on butterfly. Im not lying i literally almost cry watching her dance butterfly's chore cause it looks so beautiful😭
Idk, but I think Yeojin should be included in the "DanceLine" or atleast should have a "Dancer" Position...I saw her freestyle in So What BTS in LOONA TV, which made me realize how good she is. I also saw her Cover of Gotta go by Chungha, shes good...and her dance in Line & Up(forget the song) shes also good. And the fact that her Facials are sooo great...bbc should better not sleep on her!!!!
the fact that olivia hye had only been a trainee for a day makes me more impressed
yes
She was in a dance school before her training
@@Kevser-o5r Yeah but idol dancing and dance school are really different, like idol dancing is more endurance and facial based, while normal dance is really about bodily expression
she was a trainee for hOw LonG
@@mae7493 uhh i've read somewhere that she only trained for 1 day and when she auditioned they gave her avideo with egoist's choreo in it and she came back to perform it and yeah she became the 12th girl of LOONA
what I like about Heejin is that her stage presence is always ON even when the camera isn't on her. If you watch fancams it's like she's never taking a break like many idols (even centres) do once they're done their part. That's what I think makes her such a good centre
exactlyyyy
That is something that always bothers me; some idols turn off while still on stage, and most performances never last for more than 5 minutes.
@aneli beyli nah you don't know the meaning of a lazy dancer 💀
@aneli beyli nah it's her style of dancing. She has quite stable energy but you can definitely see it.
@aneli beyli it's normal to put in more energy on an individual performance tho
You're comment for Jinsoul is soooo spot on. If you look at her dancing closely, you can see she isn't technically great at it (at times her dancing looks heavy, missing some details, lacking in power, etc.), but her overwhelming charisma and stage presence makes up for it tremendously. Heck when odd eye circle came out I instantly thought she was the main dancer. That's the power of a great performer and Jinsoul is top tier at it.
Amazing girl indeed

that's true, I never thought like that
I just realized she’s in a subunit where all are in the dance line except her and she didn’t fall behind, I admire her even more now
BBC was smart to make Love4Eva the perfect concept for Chuu, ik the girls wanted a dark concept but they killed it

@@lidette711 chuu is a black belt? our smol bean lmao
i feel like jinsoul is a great performer which lets you believe she is an above average dancer which i think is a great trait to have as an idol!
absolutely!!!!!! It's even more important to be a great performer than to be a great dancer, in kpop. You can see that in the shows they have, usually the better performers place higher than the better dancers
bitch could fit in any concepts, what a queen
OEC is average all rounder/ good performer/ stage presence master honestly.
@@ekahardiyanti4266 yesss
Personally I think her expression game is on par with Heejin; from cute to hitting hard she's always so full of presence.
DONT FORGET ABOUT CHOERRYS CHOREOGRAPHING SKILLS
i know i forgot it sorryyy
@@forggstans its okay mistakes happen dw well do it didn't meant to be aggressive 🥺
Hyunjin and Choerry both creating choreo just for fun
Ikr loona are such allrounder queens, esp Choerry, she has great visuals, confidence, stage presence, can dance, choreograph, sing, rap, she can do basically EVERYTHING
The way and Hyunjin created Rosy we stan forever
I love how in this fandom, no matter who you are, everybody supports the idea of Yeojin someday becoming a main dancer. Yeojin world domination.
I believe that haseul is improving every time in dance.
Loona has no bad dancers.
But hey they are still pretty good
Vivi was robed with that fancam, that's like the worst out of so what era u u
😭😭😭 sorry. there is actually one from the time they did the tik tol challenge where she was actually one of the best
@@forggstans agreed
I love love love how in that Heejin fancam she makes a mistake and she's so cute about it, with a huge embarrassed smile on her face, but in the next move she flips her hair and her face does a whole 180° and goes back to serious and tough. She is definitely #1 in facials on stage.
I feel like Hyunjin's one of the best in LOONA when it comes to, like, sexy-ish dances ig? vivi too actually, choerry, and heejin. also, the fact that choerry is already main dancer material basically means the rest that come after are too. that's... 5 main dancers in ONE group 😭
somebody stop them? 😭😭😭
My top 7
1- Yves
2- Heejin
3- Olivia
4- Kim lip
5- Gowon
6- Choerry
7- Hyunjin
i do think go won shouldve gotten at least a 7 now
Kinda weird that you did 7 instead of 12
i agree
Bread Bitch
Yessss Gowon appreciation
Note:
I really liked how you brought up like "Heejin is number 1 in facials" etc. etc. I would have loved to see like a list of each catagory (no need to explain each one, just a simple list)
oh i didnt make a list of everything and then made the score. I anaysed in my mind and then picked a score that matched them. Was this what you asked? hahah thanks for commenting
hyunjin is an underrated dancer because she stares at the camera like she is trying to telepathically blow it up
Omg
I think gowon, hyunjin and Choerry should've gotten better scores. I think Choerry should be atleast 8.0
I get it, I think they are very good dancers. But I made the scores thinking I'll make one to every girl group and will compare. So if their scores were higher, it'd be harder to place other girls in the future but thanks for commenting :))
Gowon deserves more 😭
@@jaidenxyz1501 I truly think she's the most underrated dancer. she's definitely top 5
L. O.C. Right! I just don’t this she isn’t given enough centre time to show off how well she can dance!!!
Me, waiting for Yves even though I know where she’s ranked: 🤭
what a mood omg 😔😔
@@bootao4682 No matter who is your favorite dancers in Loona, everyone knows Yves is number 1
@@unloyalstan5654 even the girls said so
My top 3 are:
It feels good to know that I’m not the only one who thinks Kim Lip is top two in terms of dance
I agree completely, Kim Lip is underrated in dancing for some reason even though everyone agrees she's really good there's always arbitrary reasons they rank others above her lol
Hyejoo also tends to be a heavy dancer and she has no groove within her dancing
@@vemeli-s8j there’s nothing wrong with that.
Y’all kpop fans complain when idols “under dance” and “lack energy” and then when we have Olivia who gives all her energy and dance with so much power y’all complain as well.
What’s the problem y’all have w female idols being “heavy on their feet” while dancing? It’s another dance style. Not all female idols will dance super feathery and light. Also Olivia’s dancing looks heavy partly bc she’s got a more muscular body type than the rest of the Loona members, ever thought of that?
Y’all have this mindset that
Female idols= light, feathery dance
Make idols= heavy, powerful dance
And when female idols like Olivia Hye or Ryujin have this masculine dance techniques y’all complain about it.
3:27 pretty sure that's YeoJin...right? Because Gowon's with the gray hair standing off to the right side with Olivia, right?
FINALLY someone called me out. I noticed it in the moment I uploaded, but didn't want to reupload it. And after all this comments, you were the first to say it hahahah
forggstans Whoops! I’m sorry? But I’m also honoured? 😂😂😂
I KNOW I WAS GONNA COMMENT HSHSHEHE
oof, at least gowon is as crackheaded as yeojin
i was confused too lol-- nobody pointed it out so i guessed it was intentional?
in terms of technique only and not idol dancing:
yves > heejin > kim lip > choerry > gowon > olivia hye > hyunjin > yeojin > chuu > jinsoul > vivi > haseul
I think this is pretty spot on.
For me olivia deserved the 3/4 place😅
Heejin > yves
wow that's the first ranking I saw where hyunjin & choerry are higher than gowon
yea, i think its an unpopular opinion, but i kinda stand by that. Go Won's lack of extended moves kinda made her position
Overall as a stage performer, Heejin is the deal. I love how she never slacks and puts on a good show the moment music starts.
I find your dance ranking videos very calming, in a way. I've watched this one probably three times
First place: Yves
Me:**pretends to be shocked**
Hyunjin is out there performing her heart out whenever she got the chance on stage, cause she belongs on stage. You can see her full shine charisma and her wide smile on stage, compared to doing LOONATV or non-performing, she went back at becoming our Aeong. Also I'd like to say, Chuu is also one of the underrated dancer of LOONA, just look at how she snapped in Yeolgi stage. She snapped hard.
I’ve watched lots of LOONA fancams and somehow members improved and changed. No one asked but here’s my ranking uWu
Yves is better with Sumni but overall Yeojin really surprised me
forggstans Aww thanks! Keep safe 🥰
i feel like yeojin is better than jinsoul because yeojin has probably the best fluidity in loona when it comes to dance
I speak Hyunjinese yes i guess so. i only put jinsoul because of her great form that looks like shes one of the best dancers but ill give it to yeojin. I forgot to point out that yeojin is fluid but sometimes shorten her steps
Manic yep i agree, also jinsoul does make the dance look super easy so thats a plus
Here is my ranking. I am also a dancer, but I wouldn't call myself as a professional since I've had classes for 5 months before lockdown. These are also my opinions and feel free to disagree. (I'll only be ranking the dance-line)
As with Yves, I also don't have much to say because we haven't seen much
Loved your opinion. Loona really is a house full of talents
@@forggstans thank you, really hope for more dance rankings!

I agree about Kim Lip. Olivia is still a little green and is not a very stable performer. She fluctuates a lot
I don't know if it's just me but Hyunjin has the style and technique to be in SM's so called dance style of being sharp while smooth
7:34 YES!! as a brazilian i basically died when olivia did that, plus when heejin said she lived in brazil for one month my mind literally blowed out and i was wondering if i already saw her in streets, like i know brazil is a massive country but theres a possibility.
I love this! Thank you so much. Your explanation is very detailed and it helps me to notice things I hadn't before

7:38 as a brazilian orbit yes I can confirm we died when she did this
infelizmente se depender da bbc esse momento vai ser o contato mais proximo que o loona vai ter com o brasil 🤡🤡🤡
my tops are ;
yves - i feel like i don’t even need to elaborate, her only issue that i can see is she slightly tenses up, she just needs to relax lol
heejin - her dancing style is my fav of the group, and for only being 16-17 at debut she already had a strong technique and her facials are definitely the best of the group. her moves sometimes lack in versatility, which is really my only complaint.
liphye - so for this i was a bit conflicted on who to put higher so i just put both here lol. kim lip has a very sharp technique and coordinates her moves well with each other, mostly on the top half. she has great facials (not as good as heejin or jinsoul). however, kim lip’s footwork in comparison to some other members is pretty lacking. she also seems to have a bit of tension in her top half. oli has a technique that seems to be reliant on torso movements (?) and her torso movements/control is one of her best dancing qualities. her footwork isn’t mediocre per say, it’s just...good. she also has one of the best facials in the group. hyejoo is a VERY *strong* dancer. because her dancing style is so STRONG, she tends to over dance a lot.
gowon - gowon, in my opinion, is one of the most detail-oriented members when it comes to dancing in loona. she flows well with her moves and has great control over her arms so they don’t look like they’re flopping everywhere. her technique seems to be very good. she’s also very good at different styles, but thrives in stuff like hip hop (especially popping lol). like choerry, gowon seems to be stiff in areas, but rather in her torso than her lower region. also, when not center, she lacks facials a lot, or looks a bit bored with certain concepts.
choerry - choerry is really good at powerful dances and good at controlling her energy through her moves. however, she also lacks a lot of technique in the lower region of her body, such as lack of footwork technique (or if there’s any it’s very weak/not visible), and she seems to be a bit stiff while working anywhere on her lower region. her facials aren’t lacking like hyunjin’s but they’re not up there like heejin’s or jinsoul’s, but then again no one’s really is in comparison to them.
hyunjin - hyunjin has GREAT control over her mid section of her body, however she’s a bit of a critical underdancer. her attention to detail when she dances is merely so-so, and she doesn’t appear to have a personal style. she also lacks in facials quite a bit, which holds her back from having a super interesting performance.
yeojin - though i wouldn’t really consider yeojin a part of dance line, she constantly improves each comeback and is working towards being the same level of dancer as dance line.
I hope we get an updated version sometime! The girls have improved so much
I love how accurate and also respectful your comments are!
Yves dancer of the century. I wish bbc would promote her more because she's definitely one of the best in the industry.

hey just a little too late (actually a lot) but I love how heejin is an all-rounder, she could be main vocalist, main dancer and maybe even main rapper in another group. also can we talk about how olivia had trained for only A DAY before debuting??? and now she is definitely on the dance and rap line aswell a nice vocalist
i love these girls SO MUCH

I really liked your explanation, and at tge end of the day none of them are bad dancers because they can all pull off their amazing Loona choreos and covers and are overall my favorite girlgroup to watch perform because they always fit the concept they are doing and put their 100%
And I love how they can make concept that have often been seen to have easy choeros (cute, sexy, gracefull, etc.) So entertaining to watch with intricate formations, grest presence and energy that fits the song and synchronization!

One of my favorite choreography moments in KPop history.
heejin is a better dancer than most if not all idols who've been in the game for years longer than her
Personally, my favourite dancer is Kim Lip. SHE'S SO SMOOTH I LOVE IT. She has the swag and style that makes u just want to watch her. But I agree that Yves should be first :)) great video though
Haseul's dance is sooo charismatic and elegant... Also love her expressions so much, she's got such stage presence
And Yes, Yves is a goddess in the stage, thanks for the video
thanks for the comment :)))
S tier - yves (main issue is that she often looks awkward, possibly because she's really thin, and she has some issues with placements), heejin (best idol dancer, pretty good technically too), hyeju(in between S and A)
A tier - jungeun, yerim (lacks energy and power sometimes, but her skills as a choreographer bring her up), yeojin (the second best IDOL dancer after heejin, although not as technically skilled. she can be messy at times, but she executes a lot of choreographies with ease and confidence)
B tier - hyunjin, gowon
C tier - vivi (God! she often looks uninterested because she's rarely highlighted, but when she's in a concept that suits her OR when she's properly utilized as a member she's amazing), chuu (also really fucking good as an idol dancer, probably lead dancer material)
D tier - jinsoul (lacks in musicality and often looks stiff, but she's improved a lot recently! uncover is currently her peak since she was involved in creating the choreography and didn't just learn it), haseul (heavily underrated as a dancer. she's not on the same level as most of the members, but i love watching her dance. she seems to have some education in classical dance and it's really pleasing to see. she's not as bad as YG made her seem, but she does lack stamina which leads her to seem disengaged as a performance goes on.)
heejin, yeojin, chuu, and hyeju are the most engaging performers IMO. they're all good dancers
right?! I forgot to mention Choerry's talent as a coreographer!
vivi and yeojin appreciation i stan
please don't call kim lip with her real name. as we all know, she doesn't like it being used to address her
:( i'm not being mean btw
@@yves4428 wait really? why not?
forggstans i'm not sure but i think it's bc it's similar to the north korean's president's name (in their language, it's very similar and when spelled with hangul) and i read somewhere that she used to get bullied for it thus she has a stage name :( but i'm sure that she isn't comfortable with her real name being used to address her but i'm not sure about the reason
This is the best loona dance analysis so far
omgg thanksss
I love the fact that my three bias r in the top3
If she were, I'm pretty sure people would recognize her even more
although yves is a main dancer (if only the positions we're actually defined)
yeojin, hyunjin, gowon, olivia, heejin are like the best hiphop lines
she could actually nail hiphop so much but she's so girlcrush material that she could have both sexy and hiphop-ish thing to be mixed up and be her own concept. periodt. 💅🏽
yves and kim lip could actually be together in both sunmi concept and sexy hiphop-ish concept (ʸᵉᵒʲⁱⁿ ʷᵃⁿᵗᵉᵈ ᵗᵒ ᵇᵉ ⁱⁿ ᵃ ˢᵉˣʸ ᶜᵒⁿᶜᵉᵖᵗ ᵃⁿᵈ ⁱᵐᵐᵃ ᵗᵉˡˡ ʸᵒᵘ ᵍⁱʳˡ, ⁱ ᶠᵉˡᵗ ᵗʰᵉ ˢᵃᵐᵉ, ⁱ ˡᵒᵛᵉ ᵇᵉⁱⁿᵍ ᵃ ʰᵒᵉ)
jinsoul, choerry, vivi could fit in any concepts as their character could easily fit in any of those (heejin could also fit in any concepts. although vivi could fit the most in "loona" concept especially "Butterfly" which is kind of a sentimental, but i swear to God, she could actually be a versatile idol, i know its hard to see vivi to be that one since bbc was being a bitch to her but she has a loooot of potential)
chuu and haseul could pull up rapping and doing the highnote as high as a mirror would shatter. they can actually have a concept where is somewhat girlcrush-ish or real powerful, these bitches don't come to play. periodt.
and thats on that!!
@@forggstans PERIODT. 💅🏽
I really enjoyed ViVi’s Butterfly fancams because of how clean, sharp, yet delicate and fluttery she did her butterfly hand motions.
really nice points made thxs :))
i learned so much from your channel by seeing another person's opinions
7:34 "Brazilian orbits dying when she did that"
Yes, I cried
Jinsoul fooled us 😆 personally, I think she could b second to Heejin in stage presence ♥️
3:22 yeojin dancing to idol, ok?
I remember seeing her dancing to Ice Cream Cake and let's say she isn't at her fellow daegu queen level yet
(and yes I'm talking about Irene)
Love how the "bad parts" about choerry is that she'd just be an average main dancer.
I'm a Brazilian orbit and I REALLY DIED WHEN OLIVIA DID IT
again, thanks for your evaluation criteria, i met your channel today, but i already admire your work
7:56 that's why she's the center and how is she so talented like the whole package (and so are the other girls)
7:33 ME, I WAS, LOL
like who she think she is? omggg
its the fact that loona, a 12 member girl group, has no weak dancer, singer or rapper and theyre still slept on for me
I agree but I feel like Hyunjin and Gowon should be more confident about their dancing. It makes them look a bit stiff unsure sometimes. Yeojin is much more confident even tho she isn’t as good technically. I feel like confidence really is key with dancing
I love how you refer yves as "#1" in heejin's part even tho we already know its her lmao
exactly ! every time I see this video of hyejoo dancing "oh na na na", I find myself on the floor
thank you for recognizing gowons dancing abilities as well as hyunjin. Both of them could easily be lead dancers in a other gg imo. Even if hyunjin has a "dead face" she still looks more gracefull than most of the members. I'm not a dancer but I can just see it so yeah. Also i want more hip hop gowon because that hits different 👀
(p.s, I mostly see hyunjin and gowon ranked lower so this made me happy)
Heejin is self aware and im living for it, girl has vocals, dance, rap and visual + stage presence. What more does she need
Great job!
thanks for the comment :)))
i agree very much with the olivia thing, her talent is really big but still raw, the opposite of kim lip, in my opinion, which is a great dancer but because of pure training and hard work.
Could you do an updated loona ranking this comeback?? 👉👈 It would be really nice to know how they are improving with time
facial expressions are so integral to a eye catching center
Yves is so understandable our DANCING MACHINE🤩🤩🤩!!!
THE FACT THAT YOU MADE US SIT THROUGH THE DANCE BREAK OF UNCOVER FOR JINSOUL DOENSMAMMEMR
Your comment to Heejin is really on point! Sometimes her moves are more sharper than Yves.
10:59 and now we got a jazzy/contempo perf from her heejin choerry and olivia in queendom
i've been wanting to stan loona for a while now, but uHm im overwhelmed
here's a guide! meetloona.carrd.co/
@@nyla6045 thank uuuu!
yessss choerry getting the recognition 😍
That’s why Heejin and Yves are Main dancers, Olivia, Kim lip, choerry and Hyunjin Lead dancers
my top 3 dancers are (i was close)
1 yves (im bias)
2 olivia
3 jinsoul (im bias)
Hehe girl yes this is so biased 😂
@@milkeyway7105 yes lmao
Should be:
1 Yves
2 Heejin
3 Olivia and Lip
GOWON IS UNDERRATED
sorryyyyyy hahah
can i say what i truly think she is underrated in? RAP
preachhhh
7:01 LMFAO THE DEATH DROP ISTG the first time i saw it i tgought the same
The best dancer in Loona: The group 💗
I think Vivi's main problem is her lack of confidence, whenever she has confidence she dances so good, for example - 1/3's cover of love4eva
2:03 She HAD amazing stage presence and charisma.
Jinsoul eyebrows are in depression now.
